Breakfast in a bag for consumption on the ferry. Ensuite bathroom and shower facilities. Comfortable king size bed. Friendly staff.
Off the centre but still in walking distance. Quiet street. Balcony with view into the garden. Guest room was new.
General lack of cleanliness, especially in the kitchen where breakfast was prepared. Carpets on upper floor dirty too. Mice in the guest room which came out at night to eat up bread left on the table! Broken door lock and some light bulbs in the bathroom not working. Other travellers reported broken light bulbs too. A place with good potential but not well maintained.
Jaime, the hostess, was most accommocating. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The location was fine but hard to find in the dark after the ferry ride to Prince Rupert. The room and bath were both clean and the bed comfortable. The hostess, Jaime, was very accommodating and the breakfast fine.
The bathroom was new but one that had several steps.
The young woman running this place single-handedly for the owner is very competent, friendly, and super helpful.
I had a little difficulty finding this location after getting off the BC Ferry late at night.
The carpets needed cleaning, large stains. Had a rodent chewing on some candy in the room...was suppose to get a discount but charged regular rate.
staff very friendly breakfast to order was very good
We got reassurance Tall Trees B&B had comfortable beds + a no-smoking policy! Jaimie, our hostess, treated us quite like royalty... she got up at different times and made delicious breakfasts for each of her guests! She gave us excellent information about tours + tour guides and even different places to see, some right around Tall Trees B&B! We both LOVED our time there, +recommend this stay to others!
No screens on the windows. The 1st night we got there a big fly took a while to corner + swat, but we did it!
Jaime, who ran the B&B was very friendly and helpful re the local area Large bedroom (we had the north bedroom) Sociable breakfast with the other guest
Bedroom smelt of dog. Needed a deep clean. 2 mice in the bedroom that came out periodically. Armchair or sofa would have been nice - only the bed and a desk chair to sit at. The 'hot tub' was the bath tub The 'private entrance' is unfinished Wifi was very slow and intermittent
The bathroom was very clean and tidy. The packed breakfast was good.
When I booked the room, I emailed the B&B that we would arrive late and needed to leave early in the morning to catch the ferry but I never received any response. On arrival, there was an envelope at the main door with the room key and a note, saying, that the host couldn't be there to welcome us but if we needed anything we should call them via the house telephone. I searched everywhere but there was no telephone. We had to make sure to get a taxi ordered to pick us up early the next morning but had no way of calling a taxi without a phone. I wrote a message on the note and placed it in front of our room and luckily the landlady saw the note and arranged a taxi for us. However, we didn't know this until when we got up the next morning, so we didn't have a good sleep as we were worried that we would miss our ferry. Also, the bedding in the room was quite smelly. It smelled like it had been used before and hadn't been changed. The B&B looked a bit tired and could do with a little bit of tidying up. The only nice room was the bathroom. The landlady was very friendly though and gave us a nice packed breakfast for our early start but I would not stay there again. The location is tricky for someone that arrives as foot passenger on the ferry. It is too far to walk from the ferry terminal to the B&B and there seems to be only one taxi operating.
The room was good and the bathroom well equipped. Breakfast was perfect. The hospitality was very good. Jaimie and Phil ware very kind and helpful.
Everything was clean on the surface but the cleaning overall need attention.
Jaimie (staff) was excellent. Personable, charming and fun to talk with. She also provided a wonderful breakfast. I was in the North Suite. The room was spacious and private with a very comfortable bed and huge bathroom.
The house is a bit "tired". While there is a secondary set of stairs available the main access to the North Suite is via a spiral staircase. Not so great if you have some mobility issues. I could not get more than one clear channel on the TV.
The staff were exceptionally accommodating and the breakfast was terrific each morning. Our family was made to feel very at home.
Spacious Room, Comfy bed Great Host ,Nice And quiet
The room was spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was very nice and cooked to order. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom nice and big.
The facility was clean on the surface but had spiders and was webby - regular vacuuming of the baseboards would help with this. Also, the ceiling fan needs to be cleaned - very dirty. There was no seating other than the bed and a little chair at the desk. I would have liked to have had some comfy chairs to sit in for reading or watching TV. The room was certainly big enough to have fit them. Although the table was clean in the breakfast room other visible areas were not - the chairs could definitely stand to be cleaned. The whole house could stand a deep clean.
Feels like home away from home
Jaimie was a wonderful host! She made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed or could ask for. She was very accommodating with our breakfast times, too. :-) It was very quiet and relaxing.
I would have liked a rug beside the bed so I didn't have to put my feet onto the cold floor in the morning, but that's a minor detail (I should have brought slippers).
Good location. Comfy beds. Feels like home. Excellent breakfast.
Comfortable rooms Very quiet neighbourhood
We thought the manager, Jamie, was excellent. She went out of her way to give help and advice. She seemed to be very hard working and accommodated the different of the guests - especially at breakfast.
this is just a great place to stay; the rooms are very nice, big, clean, flat-screen TV, tons of DVDs, good breakfast, nice staff, located besides the rain-forest!
We liked the location and Jamie was nice.
It wasn't clean, food/coffee were definitely not what we would have expected, we had to greet guests a couple of times because host was not there. We paid almost $400 and feel we did not get our moneys worth. Will not recommend or go back.
Overall comfort, privacy of each room, many extra amenities, cooked to order breakfast whenever you want it, helpfulness of manager
More thought given to extra amenities than to basics such as greeting upon arrival, bedside tables and reading lamps, dressers, place for toilet kit at sink
Loved that Tall Trees was Pet Friendly, and the staff was Very accomidating - Jaimie was very pleasant both over email and in person. The room we stayed exceeded expectations even after viewing the 360 degree tour online. simple beautiful. Within 20 minute walk of the main streets, and in a cozy little neighbourhood,. Honestly could not have asked for better.
Excellent value for the price. Bedroom was wonderful. Quiet side street, close to community trail. Free snacks and a bottle of wine. The "open menu" breakfast is a great idea, allows travelers to choose how much, and what sorts of foods they want.
The North Suite needs a screen on the south window so the window can be opened for a cross breeze. The temp. and humidity were high, and the room was subsequently stuffy. A note in the room about the complimentary bottle of wine would have been nice. We missed out on that. (By the way, the top of the armmoir was very dusty.)
