Score from 92 reviews Very good
The location is good in that the hotel is in the village centre and there is free parking.
Out of season there is very little open in Baddeck. So there was a choice of two places to eat in the evening until 8pm. The hotel does not do breakfast out of season so it was lucky we had booked a room with a fridge. There was a coffee machine but to kettle.
Excellent location and besides one members of staff (first person we met, gave no information and monosyllabic) everyone friendly and helpful. High quality restuarant.
Rooms were tired and basic and the first room we were put in was a double boxroom (very small) and located next to the public toilets (the last room of choice even though we booked well in advance), they eventually moved us to a better room for the last 3 days of our 7 day stay.
We enjoyed the room just off the front porch. It was bright and white and everything was as we hoped.
Single beds but ok for us
The room was great
there was no telephone in the room or the motel lobby. We had an emergency and had to explain why we needed a phone so we could use the hotel phone.
needs repairs on the outside...
Leaving in the morning.
First thing upon arriving I had to kill a bug in the bathroom. Curtains were dirty. Limited bedding. water left in the coffee maker, street noise. Very small room. Never will be back.
Homely, period house. Restaurant is good.
Noisy plumbing - could hear when upstairs were having a bath.
Charming room, decorated like a country cottage. So attractive I took pix. His & hers comfy chairs: high backed for him, soft rocker for her. Located in town so you can walk to places to shop & eat. Screen door for fresh sea air.
Only booked the room for one night. Should have stayed longer!
Clean accommodation which provided easy walking access to cute downtown area. We would stay again when passing through the area.
Great location easy walking in town. Front desk was helpful about the days travelling
Reading lamp and tables on both sides if the bed. Turn the heat on before guests arrive for them. Tell them there are creamers in the fridge. Upkeep would be nice. Worn looking.
The friendly staff, the close proximity within walking distance to everything we need.
Nothing to dislike, except that we couldn't stay longer!
Old charm friendly very clean
décor, décor, décor, air jet tub!
Friendly staff. Handy to everything
It is in the heart of Baddeck
WE were in a small room in an out building that was quite small and overall was very poor value for the price paid. It is in need of a lot of upgrading
Location was good. Staff were a little indifferent. Historic building, but the overall look inside was a tille shabby, although clean
NO breakfast - and for a hotel with it's own resaurant this was a let down, expecially for the price. Stayed in better places.
Beautiful old house. Nicely decorated. nice staff.
We were at the top of the stairs. Heard so many customers retuning to the hotel after we had gone to bed.
The room was very nice and clean.
The room was a little too small and there was no air conditioning, although they did supply fans. I know it is an old building but a reduced rate for the size of the room would be okay. Would definitely recommend it to other travelers
great location, wonderful food !!!
The most friendly staff ever met! I had a car issue and had to check out late. They were very accommodating and let us checked out at 2pm. Will definitely go back again!!
Dinner was exceptional. Everything on the menu was appealing and everything the four in my group had was fantastic from the drinks in the parlor to the Eton Mess for desert was memorably excellent. Wonderful ambience. I want to go back
Service was good at this very old hotel. Our room was small but then we had paid for the cheapest room to crash out in during our hectic time in Nova Scotia and it fulfilled all our expectations.
Location, very good dining
Tiny bathroom, no breakfast,
The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect. We left our car in the hotel lot and could walk anywhere in Baddeck. At first the price may seem a bit expensive, but not when compared to the cost of everything thing else in Baddeck.
We stayed in the main house years ago and found it very charming. This time we stayed in the back. It's a bit dated and the bathroom was very small. There also is no breakfast included.
On arrival upgraded to more spacious room on their suggestion.
