Great location, friendly staff, enourmous room, updated bathroom with heated floor, updated kitchen, big closet, nice TV
Complimentary toiletries not replaced everyday. Also, I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door whilst making an important Skype call. the cleaning service called my room to see if I would require housekeeping!
lots of space fantastic shower
living room a bit run down
It is close to my son and had parking
Our room was above a bar or bistro and so it was quite loud until 1 am.
Kitchen was well equipped with glasses, silver etc. Beds comfortable, nice duvet. Nice furniture.
lack of pictures on white walls, makes it feel a bit cold. TV in sitting room but none in bedroom.
I was very impressed with the cleanliness of our room. The kitchen was spotless including the fridge, dishes & cutlery. The bathroom was clean and modern. Bed was comfortable & sheets were pristine.
Couch in the living room was not very comfortable to sit on. the towels are not very nice. The hallways are narrow & shabby..
close to St Joseph's oratory
The kitchen facilities in the room are great and the size of the room is really spacious.
The carpets are old and the place has a small of an old people's apartment building. Needs some renovations on that front.
one of the staffs was really helpful and pleasant... the size of the room was perfect...nice restaurants close to the hotel
The parking was not free! it was 15 canadian dollars per night!!!!
Parking facilities / you had to be let in? The location vs the value paid not worth it.. I might as well have stayed at a Holiday Inn. I would have paid less and I would have been more impressed.
We love the location as this street offers everything you need in the morning (delicious pain au chocolat and more) and in the evening. It is so close to the metro and the bus line 165 Côtés des neiges takes you directly downtown. We decided to park the car by the Oratoire St-Joseph -a 5 min easy walk from the hotel) for two nights ($10/ for 24h). Our goal was to visit the Montreal Universities. This location was great with an older teenager, great fun neighborhood. Our room was at the back, so it was very quiet and having a kitchenette is a plus.
Nothing - we were pleased with the price/quality service. We just love Montreal !
Nice place.. great location... repeat customer.
cleaning and dish washing were regularly; small corner with kitchen in the room; a lot varieties of towels
old furniture; the water flow in the shower was weak; tap was inconvenient so that water was always around the sink; there were products left after previous guests in the fridge; every morning there was noise coming from outside; towels had strange smell
A large clean comfortable room with a kitchenette at a reasonable price close to the subway and the University (I visited the University for business). The area is generally nice too, I actually like it more than the downtown, it's a residential area with a nice midtown flavor, and if you need to go downtown, subway is only 100 meters away. Lots of shopping and restaurants around too. A great hotel for a business traveller.
Garbage collection at 6am right outside my window. Not the hotel's fault, of course, and can't be really helped, probably, Montreal is a big city...
- Excellent friendly Front Desk staff - Perfect location for our needs (close to both Laval & downtown)
- Rooms (at least ours) need a major update. - Carpet, walls, towels... everything is clean yet old & worn
Onsite parking. Within walking distance of Polytechnique Montreal Near by verity of eating places.
great location with everything around, nice kitchen with a lot of kitchenware to make meals. bedroom and living room are separate
parking is extra, onsite parking is expensive
The room we stayed in was huge, featured a kitchen area complete with plates, glasses, and silver ware. In a good neighborhood, with plenty of shops and restaurants.
No air conditioner in the bed room.
This hotel is in an excellent location, near a Metro stop, bakeries, restaurants, bookstores, an all-night fruit market, and of course right below St. Joseph's Oratory. It was nice to have the kitchenette too. Bath and kitchen had been updated fairly nicely, though not the other parts of the room. It took us a while to find the parking entrance, but we were very glad to have it so nearby.
One challenge was that the (loud) air conditioner is in the living room, so we could not close the bedroom door at night or we'd roast. My son, who slept on the sofa bed, got extra chilled and little privacy. Space is very limited in both halls and room, though I understand it's the middle of the city. In general the place was cleaned pretty well but not maintained or decorated as much as it should have been. Basic white walls with peeling around the window and marks from some sort of red tape that had been on the wall long ago. Balcony wasn't too inviting, since the view out the back was of a vacant lot and miscellaneous non-scenic stuff. If you could look over that, though, there was a park-like area and what appeared to be a university beyond. Fridge was nice size and freezer worked (bring ice trays!), but the refrigerator part did not cool very much at all no matter what we did. Had to put bottles in the freezer if we wanted them cold to carry around.
This was probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in! The fully equipped kitchenette has everything you need to avoid spending money on eating out. The bed was super comfy, basically everything in the room was nice and modern, we got a nice view, there's a metro grocery store across the street, and an outdoor fruit market that's open 24/7. And that's on top of all the little restaurants, fast food, and cafes in the area. It's right next to a metro station which means most tourist attractions are really easy and cheap to get to. It's walking distance from Mount Royal. You still kind of feel like you're downtown but without all the noise that comes with it. Basically, our room was a nice, centrally located one bedroom apartment.
It was a little expensive for us but it was worth it!
Great Staff, loved having a suite, parking great- used the metro. Would stay there again when in Montreal.
Friendly staff. Regular room service. Location is perfect.
room was big
booked a non-smoking room, they gave us a smoking room, they tried telling us there were no rooms left, we told them we werent going to stay and was going to go elsewhere. only then did he tell us there was another room, non-smoking, that was slightly bigger, but did not charge us more for it.
Location. Fresh market, subway, bookstores, Starbucks, Metro, just steps away. Room clean and good size.
Parking not included, which I didn't realize. 135$/night, plus tax, plus parking. Basically, too much for me in the end. And my stay was only during the week. Weekend rates would be higher.
Smoked on balcony. They charged us a smoking fee. Do not go here. Was not happy with staff. Beware
