the rooms opposite to the burrard street was noisy
Staff helpful and friendly Location excellent Outside garden area for sitting.
Noise and lack of air con slightly problematic in rooms on front of road. Other rooms to back of hotel quiet and dyson air fan excellent in these.
Location was the best part about the Burrard.
The air conditioning machine was only effective right in front of it and kept us awake most of the night with its loud noise and the heat in room added to the discomfort.
I really love how clean and inviting the room was. A great location! Very convenient for an alternative stay that was just a block away from a nearby event.
The price was still a bit high and the bed wasn't the best for my back, nor did I like the surrounding 'box' at the bottom that may cause injury.
It was clean The bed was comfortable Convenience of having a safe Location Great welcoming staff
Location, friendly staff. I went to Vancouver for medical reasons and the location is fantastic!
Our room wasn't clean properly.
Rooms on non traffic side of hotel are fairly quiet for city location. Need to ask for quiet room, which I have been given on each of four stays. Rooms very good for price and location. Easy access from Airport via excellent skytrain. Free bikes, able to ride around bike friendly city. Staff very helpful. Short walk - in one direction towards up market restaurants and in other direction to more budget priced. Close to many of City's attractions.
The building doesn't look very good from the outside, and you are pleasantly surprised when you first go in.
Every thing, especially the patio
Location excellent for business. Front room staff very friendly.
Fall short of room supplies. Need to pay more attention.
The location was great. East to get around. The room was funky, fun, and unique- all in a good way! A mix of the 70's with modern convinces. Wonderful courtyard. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definately stay here again.
Street view rooms a little noisy from the morning traffic, but not too bad.
Cafe at the side was nice
Room with no air circulation, dyson air fan in room instead. Front counter staff werent particularly engaging/friendly on arrival. Tatty bed throws gave a poor first impression on entering room
Staff excellent , helpful Free water and ice Reasonable sized room comfortable beds within short walking distance of downtown Coffee shop in basement Coffee machine and fridge in room Rooms cleaned well everyday.
No air con but made up for by an excellent fan.
The location - convenient to bicycling lanes and walkable to many restaurants Bicycles Available (bike friendly city) Staff was VERY pleasant and helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations. Easy parking Quirky signage Free water bottles in fridge with rec to refill at the available water cooler off the lobby
Room got a bit warm on a warmer day, but we were out and about. Nice Dyson fan helped cool it down as well as open windows
Good location , small atmosphere , free bikes
Free bicycles, nicely decorated
Good restaurants and coffee bars are a bit of a walk
Nicely renovated with style, room thoughtfully designed, good location, walking distance to downtown and shopping.
The room standard was good and staff were helpful.
So many homeless people 'begging' close by - difficult to avoid in a city with such a big homeless population.
Location and free bikes.
no air conditioning.
Design of hotel was awesome, location was great, staff friendly, free bicycles, next to 7-11
No air conditioning and the "air cooler" did not adequately cool the room - stayed 85 degrees all night.
The communal gardens and room accessibility . Free bike hire. Location for Granville and Kitslano is good.
No ventilation Room over facing Burrard is v noisy. And you can't open the window or it gets unbearable. But you can't keep it closed unless you open it or the room door. The fan provided was not cool enough so I was continually opening the door and windows to accommodate. The cafe attached next door had poor breakfast options. I would urge you get breakfast on Davie and not opt for the hotel version. I don't think the facility next door will last long either as under new management.
The staff were among the best I've ever seen. We didn't need a guidebook: we just asked the staff for restaurant/bar recommendations, and inevitably they gave us fantastic spots to go to. The hotel's retro style was cool and quirky. Free parking downtown was a plus.
Lack of air flow in the rooms! A weird air cooler/ventilation thing designed to (we assume?) cool the room sounded like a jet engine taking off, which made sleep almost impossible. We were there in August, so it was pretty hot. I'm sure the rest of the year should be fine...
Pretty much everything.
Aircon box Bathroom faces straight onto path.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. I liked the coffee machine in the room.
Great location. Coffee machine. Stylish.
The homeless people fight outside at night. The air-con was not the best... Just a fan thing really. Didn't really cool the place down
Staff was great, location was good, room was clean.
Cute and funky place but personality is no substitute for comfort. The room was a tiny, airless closet-sized box with no AC and only one window that opened 3 inches max. But even that 3 inches was useless because it was blocked by the curtains. In the heat of August, it was unbearable and we didn't sleep. The only way I'd ever stay here again is if the price was significantly reduced - and I mean SIGNIFICANTLY - and only in cooler seasons. But even then, I'd probably stick with the Blue Horizon, where rooms are huge, AC is great, and the price is more than reasonable.
