The Cedarwood Inn & Suites  

The waterfront location, combined with the size of the suite and the motel amenities, made the Cedarwood Inn and Suites a fantastic value for the already economical cost!

WE stayed for 5 nights and did not have any kind of a problem. This is a more homey type of a place in the room we stayed in, although i dounderstand they have all different types of rooms. If you are looking for a big fancy hotel then this is not for you, but for us it was great.

Proximity to airport

The smell of the wood panelling was quite strong, although you get used to it. I think asmatics would have problems. On ground floor, vehicles park right in front of your window, so you wake up your neighbours if you leave early.

Convenience of location. Staff was friendly.

Always stay at Cedarwood when in Sidney...It has the most stunning seaside views....its close to the playground, and the seawall walking path... The hotel staff is always friendly and courteous.

We booked late and were pleased to see there was an excellent freeway to quickly get to the centre of the city to attend the opera.

We did not have an opportunity to enjoy much of the facilities as we checked in late in the evening and left early the next morning. Enjoyable and liked the location.

The cleanliness of the room was excellent. They are a bit old fashioned, but really well maintained.

It was convenient to get to Victoria airport and well priced.

Although the room I had was simple, I had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at Cedarwood. The room was warm and inviting. I loved the quick and lovely walk along the shore into town (Sidney). The staff were friendly and helpful. The next time I go back to Vancouver Island, I will stay at Cedarwood again. I recommend it to others.

beauty of the gardens, ocean, walkway along the water, closeness to town, ease of parking when eating in town. The people at the desk gave us easy directions to find various sights. I was traveling with my mom who is in her nineties. She wanted to drive most places. If I had come under different circumstances many, many activities would have been in walking distance....nice. Also I asked for a room with no cleaning spray use. My room was fine and I was able to awake in the morning without swollen eyes and a headache.

too many aircraft flying over TV had way too many unavailable channels..could all the useable channels be put in one location ??

Extremely old - desperately needs renovating!

The location was wonderful!

This place is older so not so upscale furnishings and decor as a 4-5* but that's not what we wanted. It was very clean, comfortable, had eveything you could want - extra pillows, blankets, all the kitchen gadgets, coffee maker and fixings, etc. The staff are laid back and friendly and happy to help any way possible. We left our bikes and bags there for the day we checked out and they were great about that. The location is central in Sydney and across from the ocean and the walkway along there to stroll into town. If you can get lucky and have a room facing the ocean, you'll want to hang out for hours. The grounds are done very nicely also and kept up and they have a bbq and sitting area facing the ocean so bonus for families I think. Good price for a place with a kitchenette, dining area and living room and separate bedroom.

The only thing I think was a minor quibble was the soap dispenser mounted on the wall in the bathroom - real cheap quality stuff.

The location is fabulous with great views of Sideny Bay. Sidney town can be walked to as well as area walk paths along the ocean can be enjoyed. There are many great eateries and the locals take pride in their homes and flower gardens. The weather is very favorable and there are many wonderful attractions close by, such as wineries and Butchart Gardens. We enjoyed whale watching as well as a Ferry ride to Vancouver and back. Our hosts are extraordinary friendly peple who took pride in their property and their guests.

beautiful location, suite was basic but very very well priced.

We were able to stay with our small dog. The location and grounds were lovely. The room was functional and comfortable.

Room was clean; bed was comfortable; located close to restaurants and stores; near the water/beach; large park across the road; pet friendly.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

Location!!! Large room. Beautiful gardens. Because of the older ( retro ) decor Cedarwoods can offer a great location and facility at a reasonable price.

Cedarwood Inn was perfectly located in Sydney. Accross the street from the beach and had a beautiful view of the water and mountains in the distance. Unfortunately most of the rooms did not face the view they opened onto the parking area/courtyard. There was a beautiful garden area in the courtyard that had outdoor tables and chairs and even several BBQ that were available if you wanted to have a picnic. There was a small refrigerator in our room if you had food to chill. Our room was basic and clean but will need updateing in the future. The staff all were very friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay at Cedarwood Inn again.
