Score from 143 reviews Superb
I really enjoyed this hotel, very elegant and classy. It is not a regular hotel, but is just as great. I believe there are 4 rooms total, so you'll feel like a special guest no matter what. The balcony overlooks the restaurant down below, and the room itself is wonderful. Very hidden and private hotel!
The wifi signal was very poor in room 4, the room to which I stayed. Other than that, nothing else.
Me and my boyfriend stayed here to celebrate our graduation and it was the first time either of us stayed in a hotel and it was absolutely excellent! Beautiful, comfortable, clean and wonderful staff!
The woman's only pool, wish my boyfriend would have been allowed!
Could have had a better selection for breakfast
Simply a wonderful place to stay
Had the last minute option to book something at the Trump and chose to stick with our plan and stay at The Ivy at Verity. Could Not Have Been Happier. All you read about this little gem is true. George and the rest of the staff are supremely kind and helpful. For my wife and I the best part of our stay was the incredible comfort of the King Size bed. Everything was hypoallergenic. The room was vast and spotless. The big screen TV was BIG. The wi-fi worked great and the bathroom... OMG almost as big as our NYC apartment. The shower was a mini vacation within our vacation. And the private access to the hotel quarters made the trip extra special. No "scene" to pass through like there is in most expensive high rise hotels. Just quiet, quiet, quiet. Easy access to public transportation, the city core and The St. Lawrence Market. When we work our way back to Toronto will will make every effort to stay again.
Having to get out of that bed and having to get out of that shower. Leaving was not easy.
As I was planning to propose during the day, I wanted a hotel which was perfect. This place is. The staff are very friendly, the room was excellent (and we were in one of the smaller two, I believe) and all the facilities that we tried were great.
You could hear a nearby club all night.
Room was large, modern and clean, with a luxurious comfortable bed. Room was decorated nicely and terrace outside was nice. Location was good with transit outside the door and within walking distance of Eaton Center and City Hall. Bathroom was high end with the lovely addition of scented bath salts. Convenience of a honour bar and George restaurant in the same building. Had George bring up a light dinner to my room.
Room was maybe a bit too high tech. Too many remotes for the non tech savy. Bathroom floor heating was inoperable. There was a strange vibrating noise at night, don't know if it was street cars going by at night or from the ventilation hood from restaurant below, but it continued for quite a while. One could also hear people moving about on hardwood floors above. Check out was a bit a of a nightmare. There was a new person checking me out. The experienced person abandoned him and expected that he knew what he was doing. Also I didn't like the fact that the hotel takes a photo copy of credit card and id and rather than destroying it they hold onto it. The person checking me out did not require that I use my password to verify my credit card, so anyone can come along and charge up my credit card! I've never come across a hotel that doesn't destroy that info, and hangs onto it!
very large, bright room, nicely furnished, innovative amenities, intelligent and helpful staff
not set in most beautiful location,
Everything. It was the best hotel.
.great bathroom loved the bath salts
TV was impossible to turn on without help
The room was lovely and we truly enjoyed our stay.
Checking in - being first timers we didn't know if we were in the right place and there was no one at the desk to help us. We waited quite a while for someone to finally show up.
Bathroom very nice.
No fridge in room.
the room, the bathtop, the manager
the breakfast is too small
The accommodations were incredibly luxurious, and well-located near the Eaton Centre. The staff member who greeted us on our first day (George) was extremely courteous. I particularly liked the bath salt and tea pairings.
The building was locked when we arrived, and the entry was rather difficult to find. The hotel is located in a women's club, and my male spouse got a few strange looks when we were using the facilities. The staff member who was on duty on our last day also treated us rather brusquely.
I liked the size of the room and the fixtures provided.
Locked elevator, locked front door. Sunday and monday no facilities available. Breakfast is served starting at 8 am far to late for us. No parking no valet parking. If elevator is required you have to phone down and wait for someone to show up. When you explain to mgmt. That what they offer or not offer for the price charged they get all pumped up and huffy. They have 4 rms. They are not a hotel. Also its run mainly as a womens club, where men are not tolerated, but as a hotel guest you have no choice but to intermingle. NEVER WOULD I STAY AT THIS SO CALLED HOTEL.
We were advised that there was a "tea pairing" with bath salts on arrival. We were advised how to book this the next day. When we tried to book it 15 minutes after speaking to the concierge, we were advised that "I just found out that we are not doing that anymore." Also the associated spa downstairs, when we tried to book treatments on the day of arrival for the next day, we were told that the computer system was down and that someone would be back to us. When I heard nothing by the next morning, I phoned the spa again and was told that no treatments were available.
I treated myself to a mini staycation to a spa treatment at the Sweetgrass Spa (just next to Ivy) and had a wonderful refreshing body treatment. Then checked in the Ivy for a comfy quiet stay. It's wonderful to the mind and soul. The room was perfect, the bed was super comfy. Will definitely go back for another treat.
the restoration and design was extremely well done. the staff were professional and friendly
the price is more than I am used to paying. However because of Toronto being very that night, we tried it and enjoyed it.
outstanding in all aspcts
Sumptuous room with balcony. Bathroom was amazing with homemade salts. Loved the in room breakfast delivered to us. Very plush and romantic experience. Try Origin for dinner - incredible!
Having to wake up early to out money in parking machine across street. Ask concierge about that to avoid an early run.
Spacious room, large bathroom, nice bedding, great customer service.
Spa was for women only, could only access pool after hours if you are a male.
The breakfast was, at least for europeans, a little on the sweet side. Some white bread would transform the morning meal to something that could pass for a breakfast for most europeans.
