Quiet, simple, low tech

no fan in bathroom

Like the breakfast bar. And the room with the 24hour coffee or tea etc. was a very quiet and comfortable place to stay. Will definitely be returning

Was it really designed by Frank Lloyd Wright? The outside has Wrightian influences, the inside not so much.

Great staff. Clean facilities. 60s decor was a neat touch

there was an awful smell inside the hotel and room the entire time. no queen sized bed was given despite reservation.

We loved staying in a hotel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. So much history in this building. The rooms are pretty much the way they were when the hotel was built--very retro. But the hotel and staff didn't lack because of it. We would definitely book again.

The bathroom tub/shower could use an update.

A gem of a place, close to downtown Collingwood, interesting style "50s hip?".

Walls are thin so you do hear people in the corridor, Why do people raise their voices in the hallways?

Great owner/staff. The place looks like you have walked into the 1960s which is part of its charm and it is IMPECCABLY CLEAN.

It was very quiet.

I think it was over priced. They could have made it very nice on a snowy weekend to have a fire going in the beautiful fireplace. I think it's a well constructed building but a bit past its prime.

I felt very welcome, front desk gentleman was quite hospitable.

I really like coffee in my room. Don't care much for the instant that is available 24/7

The smell was very bad and more so in the bedrooms.

Everything was very good. An older style hotel that was well kept.

I liked the style of the buidling and enjoyed the simpler low tech feel of the Motel. It felt more home like. I liked that most rooms were a bit different in their decor and would go back to try a different room. The breakfast room offered some games and books which again made you feel more relaxed and at home.

Upon entering my room I found there were stains on the bedspread which at first glance made me question the rest of the room. But that was of no concern because I found the room to be extremely clean and comfortable including all blankets and linens. I understand and appreciate that this is an older facility but something such as visible stains on the bed should be addressed.

We were in town for a concert at Blue Mountain Village and the Mariner was the only hotel with availability. I liked that I could make the reservation online, however, was disconcerted that my credit card had already been charged prior to my arrival instead of at the end of my stay.

It is an outdated hotel - very dingy and there was tape holding up the plywood wall in our room. The bathroom has not been updated (toilet seat was broken, bathtub was aged and no one wanted to bathe in it, showerhead did not function properly, taps at sink were aged, minimal soap and shampoo, and towels for the 3 guests we had told them to anticipate. The free continental breakfast was scarce and not according to the reviews we had seen posted (e.g. no eggs - even though they assured us there would be at check in).

Staff were very friendly, informative and helpful. Dining room was opened a little earlier for us and food was ready in reaonsable time. Check-in and out were both quick and easy. The location was easy to find and the neighbourhood very quiet at night.

There were not enough hangers in our closet - we had to look elsewhere for more. Also one drinking glass which was covered with a paper wrapper was found to have a large part broken off and missing - this could have had some bad results. Also there were no recycling containers in the room - most hotels have these now. Finally the shampoo containers which are plasticised paper are extremely difficult to open, particulary with wet or soapy hands - I have not seen this type in other hotels for several years.

Absolutely spotless - a+ for cleanliness! Very quiet and peaceful. We stayed in room 21 and had a lovely view of a field and trees..

Quite a bit dated in furniture but main problem would be that the mattress was in poor shape - we kept sinking into the middle. Did not sleep well at all.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed in. Rude staff. They came in my room just as soon as I left to go out to dinner and left a note about no smoking, even though no one had smoked in the room. Everything in the room was older than my grandmother. Way over priced, I will never stay here again. Website lied, it is not 10km from Wasaga Beach. It's a 40$ cab ride.

Localisation: près de Wasaga Beach, sans payer trop cher. Bien pour une étape.

Service client, commercial inexistants: ils ne répondent pas aux mails, jamais personne à l'accueil. Petit déjeuner (correct) mais il n'y a personne pour servir! On se sert tout seul (limite, il faut faire la vaisselle ;-) ) Très viellot, l'hôtel aurait besoin d'un sérieux coup de rénovation.

The hotel was clean.

For the quality of the stay I would have rather paid an extra $10 to stay at the Holiday Inn.
