Good value. Nice breakfast.
Someone before us cranked the heat. Didn't get much sleep.
the complimentary breakfast was excellent. the restaurant service staff was attentive and polite. - downtown location is excellent. near sight seeing areas and public bus transport stop
elevators smelled cigarette smoke. need good cleaning/disinfecting
convenience of restaurant & bar
no fridge or microwave in room no faceclothes room was kind of dingy swimming pool was out of order
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel.the staff members response was always excellent. .its a decent hotel
Historical building with beautiful architecture in restaurant. Food in restaurant very good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Excellent continental breakfast with choice from menu. Service in restaurant fast. Technical staff helped us on a number of occasions with faulty television and cable box and heating. Close proximity to MTS Centre, mall and other stores. Would be great for anyone interested in the paranormal as the hotel is quite haunted! The Molborough Hotel was quite prestigious in its day - the prestige captured our imaginations and for this reason it was an interesting experience.
No fridge or microwave in room. Old fixtures such as toilet which was difficult to flush. Parking is expensive! If you plan to park in parkade across the street or open lot at end of block expect to pay $24 overnight. Waterslide and spa not working, pool was cold and not as clean as it should have been. Staircase to pool very steep, narrow and spooky - kids were too scared to go down them so used old creepy elevator instead. Those elevators had an odd smell. Old theatres adjacent to pool area - doors to theatres were open, dark inside -did not feel safe - like someone could jump out at any minute. Lobby area had a stench like vomit. In a rough area of town, was concerned our vehicle might not be safe overnight. We will not be staying here again because we had several spooky experiences. TV kept turning itself on and off and was running at one time even though cable box was shut off. Cold spots in room and hallway. Couldn't keep room warm and felt constantly like we weren't alone in the room!
Free breakfast, not a buffet style either. You actually submit an order. Price was right. Perfect location. MTS Centre was just a short walk away.
WiFi was very spotty. But when you could connect it seemed to stay. Staff at desk was a little defensive when I asked them to reset router. You can tell how old the place is. Atmosphere needs freshening up.
The room was better then our last stay. The breakfast was fantastic. Location was what we wanted to be downtown close to museums and the forks for sight seeing.
When we booked we asked that the pool be functional, as this was a holiday for us and our children. We were sorely disappointed in the pool facility as this was the main reason we chose the Marlborough. The pool was closed all 3 nights we where there. I also found the staff at the front desk to be fairly rude and short not just with myself but with others I witnessed as well.
Close to MTS Centre.Complimentary breakfast was good.
No waterslide, dirty pool, unruly people loitering around entrance.
Nothing in particular
To many strangers arround...and noisy
There is alot of great old architecture in the building...for the great price, don't expect all to be polished and sparkly. Location is great. There is more security than I am accustom to seeing in a hotel but that also made me feel safe. Staff were great. The breakfast in the downstairs cafe was very good (included in the price).
The water in the bathtub had to be run for a few minutes to clean the rust out of the pipes...but it's only minerals. I've swam in lakes so I know it's not bad.
I found the place to be quite good. I did think the hallways smelled like smoke but not in my room. My room was very comfortable and the staff upgraded me to where I needed a card to get on my floor.. The restaurant downstairs was great n all the staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to everything. I would stay there again. :-)
The hallways smelled of smoke. Other than thst everything was great.
The quiet rooms and comfy bedding.
Some of the restaurant staff is rude and inattentive. Had to ask which section was which so we didn't get a ride server.
Price, security floor, security generally, free and GOOD breakfast, friendly and efficient staff, 12 noon checkout time, comfortable room. Joanna's Restaurant very pleasant.
Lobby was dingy and frequented by homeless and/or drunk people. Bad alcohol / tobacco / body odor / urine smell in the air. First impression is terrible especially for woman checking in during evening. Parking at Impark is questionable and not worth $16.00. Car was scratched. Might have happened there. Fix up this beautiful historic property to its former grandeur and kick out the derelicts!
Location to attractions The friendly staff Guest laundry available
The included full breakfast and atmosphere were great!
Restaurant staffs should be more friendly mainly in the breakfast time.
Look of the place Ironing board Clean Breakfast was complementary and really good
No Do not disturb sign put in the room so maid came in when she wasnt needed. No fridge to keep my own drinks or food cold. Homeless people and beggars in lobby and front of hotel.
The front desk people were friendly and helpful.
It's old and it shows. One bank of elevators was not working. Half the lights on the working elevator were out. The water in the swimming pool was frigid. All in all, pretty poorly maintained.
breakfast was great
room was very out dated
the staff were so nice and I enjoy staying at the Marlborough
Hotel staff were very friendly and competent Clean, with dated elegance Near downtown
Old hotel, not well maintained with damaged furniture, elevators Scruffy street with people hanging out Not a nice environment for family travelers nor business people
