Hostess cooked us a top quality homemade breakfast.
Manager Kevin was very personable, friendly, and hard working. It's small, clean, beds are comfortable, shower had good water pressure, and breakfast was great.
Our bathroom could use a little updating, but great value for your money at this place.
Our host couldn't have been more welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and healthy including the homemade granola, and jams. He was well informed about what to see and do on the Cabot trail. When we sat at the table to play cards, he brought out candles set in a rock to add ambiance to the game. It just felt good to be there, and we were sorry we couldn't stay longer.
Staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious!
Beds weren't that comfy but we slept alright, so not a huge concern
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Maven Gypsy for one evening in September. We stayed in room #1 which looked out onto the ocean across the road and had an ensuite. The breakfast was excellent with eggs from the free range chickens on site and veggies from the garden. The manager Scott was very helpful and friendly. We will be recommending this B&B to any friends travelling on the Cabot Trail. Kristin & Ryan
very good breakfast, pleasant to talk with, could see the ocean
didn't like steep driveway, mattress not comfortable , blinds see-through
Good hosts pleasant surroundings, very good breakfast
Need better security on bedroom door
Food was amazing!!!
the two fellows that ran the inn were tops...comfortable but could be a little updated. the breakfast was great and the fellows went out of their way to please
The breakfast was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. The location was quiet. There were plenty of fresh towels. There was a lovely view from the bedroom window.
The mattresses shifted off the bed. The water in the shower was a bit hard because it came from a well. The sink in the bathroom was very small and narrow and the shelf was in the way of brushing teeth. A sign on either side of the highway about 500 meters before the B and B's location would be helpful.
friendly, great food and company, beautiful setting
The proprietor was terrific, a wonderful cook, and interacted extremely well with my teenage son. We would definitely stay there again!
Friendly staff, exquisite breakfast, wonderful scenery, comfortable house and bedroom, the baby quails!
Kevin, the B&B manager, offered us a very spatious and comfortable room and a good and healthy breakfast. The B&B has outside sitting facilities that we enjoyed. The very stony beach (no swimming) is just a few meters away.
The B&B is located directly to the Carbot trail. But there are unfortunately no restaurants close by. You will have to drive in both directions (north and south) for at least 25 minutes to find something to eat. At Ingonish beach (north) not only one but a few restaurants can be found.
Kevin (the manager) is a great guy, very helpful, makes a great breakfast. lovely place, cape smokey is nearby
Food, warm and friendly host
Located out of the way; had to drive a distance for food for supper.
We enjoyed the friendly informality of the host Kevin and his assistant Hayden. Kevin is a considerate and thoughtful host who is well suited to the job of running a B&B. His home smoked bacon and rhubard/strawberry/basil jam made our breakfast a memorable experience. We'll look forward at trying a kale quail egg dish on a future visit...
Mid-winter storm and travelling on business. Owner went to great lengths to make my stay comfortable and welcoming. Meals were delicious, Gourmet Chefs on staff. Very nice spot.
Aside of the great place, it is also about the people. In this case, they are AMAZING !
