Room was big, clean, and the bed was comfortable
We arrived at the inn at 11PM and the front desk was locked. We called the owner who came to the front desk to check us in, but she complained twice that we arrived too late. I can understand but there's no need for her to give us attitude too. We took advantage of the nice weather and hiked all day, then stayed out for sunset at Algonquin Park, then went for dinner in the main town, after which we drove to the hotel. I really don't think 11PM is "too late" considering that is what most people would do on a nice day at Algonquin Park.
we liked the surroundings
Leaving as soon as we could 5.00 A.M.
The owner was very nice and friendly. Clean rooms. The restaurant had great food
Nice location Fairly quiet
when at the end units, Wifi was very weak
Food was excellent. Owner was very nice,
Very very bad hotel.Charges 1.50 for Tea or coffee sachet. When I booked it stated very clearly Breakfast included, but she said Booking.com is not aware of charges and started demanding extra money for the breakfast.
Simple check in
Staff/owner could be more friendly
waiting a little long for breakfast.
Pleasant and helpful staff Clean room Good value for price paid Large room
No telephone or facility to iron clothes in room
Clean, healthy breakfast menu. Enjoyed being able to sit on the outside patio to have breakfast. It's back off the main road a bit so
"Nickle & dimed" us. $25 bucks extra for 3rd person. Expensive! The twin bed was little more than a cot, a cheap Ikea kids bed. No coffee in rooms, no coffee filters for coffee maker so we couldn't even make our own coffee. Owner looked over my shoulder while I was pouring coffee and charged $1.80 for a small mug and refills. My wife asked for some milk for her cereal and was told she can't have it. Not sure about the "warm ambience" in #6 below unless it refers to the 70s decor. This is a "basic" motel that would be a reasonable deal in the $70-$80 range. At nearly $200 including tax this was no bargain.
