the location: very isolated and quiet, at least in October as there was hardly any other guests. Landscape respected the natural environment: it was very nicely done and tasteful.
The apartment was comfortable. Lots of windows and doors going to patios. Well furnished. Lots of closets space. Two washrooms was very nice to have.
Kitchen quite complete (but not completely) with nice and clean dishes, pots and pans, and a lot of them.
We enjoyed the hot tub.
Too many things were wrong:
Total absence of staff for the whole weekend and nobody to give any kind of help or information, despite the 'We will be waiting for you to welcome you" note. There was not a soul!
Wrong code for the gate; we could not come in till another guest arrived and gave us his code. This mistake was unacceptable.
From the parking lot, everything was pitch dark. It was impossible to find our way around as we could not see. In the darkness, we were expected to find the townhouse down a short but sloping gravel trail, and down two flights of 3 and 4 stairs. As the house had all the lights on, we first assumed there was someone living there. The addresses were almost impossible to read; they were small and in complete darkness. On top of this, we had to 'roll 'our luggage in deep loose gravel, in the dark and down all the stairs.
Contrarily to what was promised, there was not Wi-Fi. We phoned the '24 hour service' number twice with no response. It turned out to be a 24 hour message service! Our call was returned only the following morning, ignoring half of the questions we had asked. Someone was sent to fix the Wi-Fi problem. The router has been stolen and the network identified in the Guests Book was wrong. This person was very nice, but it took a very long time before he managed to fix the problem, which was completed after we finally left for the day. Consequently, we were unable to use the Internet when we needed it.
The door of the fridge was stuck in frosted ice. We are afraid to brake it in opening it. That was fixed the following day after we had left for the day. So, for most of the time we stayed there, the water of the fridge was warm, and there was no ice.
In this 'full' kitchen, there was just a few condiments, but no oil or vinegar at all. Of course, we could have bought some, but the question is where: there was no convenience store or any kind of facilities around.
