Everything about this hotel is excellent. From the service, cleaniness, old world charm to thefree international calls. I will definately recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Kamloops0
restaurant food and the free breakfast; the lobby with the fire and the water wall is a pleasant place to wait; staff very friendly.
Very minor but I found opening the coffee pouch difficult--had to fight my way in :-) Also, the coffee-maker should be plugged in, not leave it to the guest to set it up. Too many bouncy pillows; provide at least one flatter pillow.
Right on Victoria street where you can find anything within 5 minutes of walk. Thompson river is just 7-8 minutes walk.
Rude management, inexperienced staff. There was an "old" smell ththroughout the building. Space was limited and the bathrooms were disgusting.
Character, comfort, cleanliness. The staff are professional and friendly. Food in the restaurant is very good - Loved the duck confit pasta dish. The live music was also a great touch.
I wish the bathrooms were bigger, but I realize I would have to pay for an upgrade. Also, this is expected from an older building. All in all, the size won't stop me from staying again, the Plaza has so many things going for it!
We liked that it was more of a boutique hotel in a historic building. The room was small but met all our needs. The tv screen is big which we loved. The room faced the street and river and was very quiet. The breakfast was delicious! Bacon eggs and pancakes fresh off the griddle included. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning which was surprisingly really good and a life saver as it was a holiday and nothing else nearby was open at 0600.
They had very limited channels on the tv. The waitress although very attentive was incessantly clanging silverwear while polishing it or something which was really irritating in an otherwise perfect serene breakfast dining room.
very good location for hockey games which we go most of the time.
Location was central to everything. Breakfast included was pretty good. Rooms are comfortable
Shower was small
the location is perfect and the staff is really friendly! Got some great tips from the Staff! The restaurant is also really nice!
Being down town and close to goo restaurents, parks for walking.
Parking was a bit crowded because of unusual snow dum earlier.
Room ,facility, breakfast
Very comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Left feeling well rested.
Loved the old school charm with the modern updates.Nice to see there are still business owners that still recognize the value of things from a bygone era. Not enough of this now days in my opinion.
Would have liked to have tried the restaurant but it was undergoing renovations at the time of our visit. Next time
There was a half drank water bottle left in the room.
Old building was neat.
I've stayed at the Plaza several times now. It has such old world charm. Like many heritage buildings it has some quirks, but that adds to the charm in my mind. The staff has always been fantastic at the plaza and I truly have felt at home staying there. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
Bring some ear plugs as the downtown is boisterous.
The breakfast was better than any other continental breakfast we have experienced
You still have to pay 8 dollars for parking The night staff was terrible. It took just over 45 minutes to get us checked in. They didn't have the room we had booked. After giving us keys to our room, we grabbed our stuff from our car and made our way to the elevator. This is when the administrative lady nonchalantly told us we probably didn't want to go to that room because it wasn't ready. We were then given a completely different room and house keeping tried to get into the room at 9AM, before we checked out. The breakfast food was great but the service was fun to watch. A young hockey team came right before the 10:00 cut off and the servers acted so unprofessionally as they were angry they had to serve the boys and their family. None of the staff, whether it be restaurant staff, day staff, or night staff, had any warmth to them at all. The rooms were fine but so small . . . I regretted staying there after being treated badly and getting a sub par room.
bed Room was clean and comfy Breakfast Parking was cheap and convinient
Being walking distance to the downtown shops.
Food wasn't very good. Fruit bowl in particular was horrendous.
Character, coziness, staff was awesome, free breakfast, free appie at Fireside - a fantastic boutique hotel at a reasonable price.
View from rear rooms unfortunate. Sink in 301 didn't drain properly.
Size and comfort of room; staff was very friendly and welcomed our pet.
Location of hotel in town
The staff were friendly, helpful & professional in manner, the location was convenient, and the beds & pillows were really comfortable. We'd stay there again and recommend it to friends.
The customer service was amazing. The breakfast was very good. Will be staying here again ony next visit to kamloops.
I could hear when drunk ppl were going back to their hotel rooms. The room was to warm for me, and it said not to turn down the heat.
The building is impressive, and the decor works well with its history. The blend of new and old is seamless! The food is exceptional! My room was quaint and cozy with everything you'd expect from a 5 star hotel.
I wish I had known about this place sooner!
