Stayed two nights, staff good, very clean and good breakfast and also great food from the restaurant.
Watch the parking situation.
Excellent value for money and great breakfast. Dining in the restaurant was excellent menu also
Very helpul and friendly staff. Good found in restaurant and again very friendly and helpful staff Clean and comfortable
Lift to the rooms is very old and quite small and could be a problem for some people. Parking was on an adjascent parking lot.
Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Hotel restaurant Parks near by Room
Elevator, it's just slow and small, Fully functional though
Fantastic place, good value, and great breakfast
I could walk to my meetings and there were many restaurants. Hotel is very clean and quiet. Breakfast was included and was made to order
Perfect location. Right across from theatre where Book of Mormons was showing and next door to theatre where Chicago is showing. Subway 1 minute walk away. Times Square easy walking distance. Never had any problems with noise. Front desk very helpful with any of our enquiries of what/how to do things in New York. Definately recommend.
The breakfast was ok but for the price and all of the above great aspects of this hotel I thought it could of offered more variety.
Loved the way they fixed up this older hotel - breathing life into downtown. Got to go to the river that night and listen to live music -- would not have had that opportunity on the highway.
The hotel had everything we were looking for, in the centre of town. A bar and restaurant on site and a decent breakfast.
central location with periodic charm
It was located in the center of the downtown.
Very comfy beds in a beautiful old hotel. Loved the fact that we could walk just about everywhere we needed to go from the hotel. Staff was great.
I found the pillows uncomfortable (too fluffy) and trying to get hot water, or warm for that matter in the morning was challenging. We enjoyed our stay regardless.
I loved everything about the hotel, beautiful room with lots of little goodies. Breakfast was excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful.
We were surprised at the location in downtown Kamloops with rather 'interesting' locals.
We enjoy downtown Kamloops and are delighted to find such a lovely place to stay right in the heart of it all. Even though this is an old hotel everything is new and updated. We were catching an early morning flight and they packed us a nice continental breakfast to go. The food in the hotel restaurant is top notch.
we had some concern about leaving our car in the parking lot for security reasons.
The rooms were very comfortable, the two beds wide enough for a couple and the mattress good enough.
The service at breakfast were quite slow. We waited 15min to receive a cup of coffe and, later, the toasts.
Clean Restaurant very good
Noise of kitchenfans day and night, kept us out of our sleep. Rooms rather small
The refurbishment of the hotel since its old days.
In the booking the Parking arrangements ought to be revealed so you do not spend money in the machine before entering the hotel.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Plaza Hotel on our way to Vancouver from Edmonton. We love the central location just minutes from the highway and the proximity to some great local restaurants, like the Noble Pig Pub. The hotel itself is old and has a lot of character, although the rooms are tastefully decorated and look recently renovated. The beds are extremely comfortable too! Perfect after 8 hours on the road. Keep in mind two things when booking: you have to pay $8 to park in the lot overnight (but at least your vehicle is in a secure lot) and there is only one slow elevator and quite a few stairs to get to each room so book on the first floor if you have mobility issues. We'll definitely be back on our next road trip.
It's the oldest hotel in town with a fair bit of history. Hence to renovation it's in great condition, beds are super comfy, nice rooms, great breakfast and very friendly staff even though she didn't have a clue how to read a map :-) The hallways look like in the scary movie "Shining" which I found really cool.
People at reception who don't have a clue but don't admit it.
I wish that I had been aware in advance that the hotel was on the tour group circuit. Large groups of noisy people arrived late and left early, my room seemed to be amongst them and I could not sleep. The restaurant also ran out of the most popular dishes on the menu early on a Tuesday! Parking was difficult and pricey.
Dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent and included a free appetizer. The bed was superb. Overall it was an excellent stay.
Breakfast, while included, was not very good.
Location in the main street near bars and restaurants. Good breakfast inclusive in the room rate.
An old hotel and shows its age in places very small bathrooms, noisy air con in rooms
Staff were excellent and the meal at the restaurant was one of the best we have ever had. Good value for money.
Unfortunately, some shops in vicinity of hotel were not targeted for family.
