The Parker's Lodge  

My wife and I returned to Parker's Lodge after I8 years. John Parker had died and we had heard that the Lodge had had had some unfortunate circumstances with poor ownership. In the ten years previously, we had spent at least a week skiing over the Christmas holidays with people who came, as we did, year in and year out ; several from as far away as Rochester and Long Island, NY. While some earlier postings from previous owners of the Lodge were not encouraging, we booked for four days under the new ownership. It was wonderful ! The food and the hospitality is old world, delicious, family style. The guests were international and interesting.Some play an instrument or two. Parker's is not fancy, not a spa, and the facilities are simple, and, in places,still a rework in process. A delicious breakfasts and dinners are set meals We skiied, relaxed and enjoyed ourselves and are coming back again next year and encourage our " old time ' Parker friends to join us,and bring their kids and grand kids, as we will.

As above, Parker's is a rework in process. Areas for larger groups are being up dated and modernized. Start up is always difficult with consistant staffing. The rooms are functional and parking with heavy snow in the winter is difficult. If skiers want an early morning start, they need to be specific. There is no liquor licence so, b.y.o.b.

De lodge is schitterend gelegen aan een meer. Het uitzicht is fantastisch.

De Lodge heeft te kampen met uitgebreid achterstallig onderhoud. Eigenlijk moet alles opgeknapt worden. Bijzonder rommelige aanblik. Service erg slecht. Geen kamerschoonmaak of handdoekenwissel etc.

Rien du tout... Ce 2 étoiles devrait être un 0 étoile et ça ne vaut vraiment pas le prix que nous avons payé.

Pas de Français (très très peu)... Pas de stationnement (Nous avons dû nous stationner dans une rue plus loin le samedi soir pour atteindre le Motel... Pas d'heures fixes pour le déjeuner ou autre... Pas de changement de serviettes en 3 jours... Bref!... Nous avons payé beaucoup trop cher pour ce genre de Motel (Camp) et si je pouvais trouver une façon de nous faire dédommager, je le ferais. Je ne veux pas nuire aux proprios en place sauf que, il y a toujours bien des limites. C'est un 0 étoile... Pour le même prix ailleurs, nous aurions eu droit à beaucoup plus de services et nous n'aurions pas été dans un cul-de-sac et dans ce qui est juste un peu mieux qu'un camp. Merci quand même!

Ils ont besoin de refaire les chambres car elles sont un peu vieilles, mais ça ne m'empêchera pas d'y retourner! Très sympathique et ambiance polonaise inimitable!

What a setting! From our room we overlooked the garden and the little cottage directly on a small pristine lake without motorboats or noisy beaches. The owners - a family originally from Poland - are extremely friendly and accessible. Breakfasts and dinners are awesome and good value, the host is a wonderful cook and she took very well care of our special menu wishes. We even spent an evening with them at the fire in the garden abd had a wonderful night.

The hotel and the hotel rooms are spacious an very clean, however the furniture is old, not very modern and the house needs some refurbishing. There are no TVs in the rooms (but you can take one of the hotels boats and paddle out on the lake which left us not missing it really) and the bathrooms could use some work as well, but again they are very clean and towels and sheets are brand new. The owners have started fixing and redoing things, and we are sure when they are done it will be an absolutely stunning place. Overall, we had a great time there and the view, the lake and the wonderful hosts really make up for the rest - great value for your money!
