The hotel had a pool suitable for the ages of my children. The location was near downtown.
The shower tiles had signs of mold in the grout lines. The tub appeared to have been painted or something ? The room for the most part was clean but the corners of the carpets under tables and furniture was dusty and had what looked to be crumbs and / or dirt build up from lack of proper cleaning. This says alot about the cleaning staff. They should be getting into the corners of these places to clean ! Also the walls were not in the best condition. Wavey ceilling plaster and repair work was obvious and very poorly done. Corners of walls had unsightly multiple wall paper patches.
Continental breakfast variety
Appearance if the room and lack of knowledge if the front desk staff ( check in was horrible)
Excellent staff, fast and effective response to any questions.
Crying baby in the room next to ours
We enjoyed our stay there and the staff were always helpful. We liked that is was close to downtown Montreal without the heavy price tag,
Just that sometimes it was a little hard to find parking.
The amenities were a disappointment. The sauna didn't work and the pool was dirty.
Hotel had own parking lot for free, was not far from city centre. Breakfast were good with more choices.
The mattress was soft and cushiony which I am not used to. Wifi didnt work in the room.
On the first night of my stay I was placed in a room on the sixth floor, that had no elevator access from the 4th floor up. The room was "non-smoking" but reeked of smoke.
First of all I was have to find a park for my car in the street because the hotel has very small parking lot. Secondly, the quality of the room was so bad also, it was so small that the bed was attached to the A/C, which is attached to the wall. the room doesn't worth half of its value. Overall, the room was bad, old style and small.
There wasn't much I liked about the hotel except the location was suited for our needs.
Almost everything. The staff member who checked us in was NOT friendly or helpful. He had a very sloppy dirty outward appearance. The hotel itself was dirty & even tho' our room appeared to have been renovated, the shower showed signs of mold. I couldn't bring myself to use the tub except to shower. We stayed in this hotel on one other occasion - the staff were wonderful, the hotel clean & pleasant. I feel that in the years since we last stayed here the quality has gone down hill considerably. We will NOT stay at this facility again,
Value for your money. Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff was very friendly and helpful
Liked the comfortable beds. Liked the breakfast that featured scrambled eggs. Liked the free parking.
Didn't like the room. It was streetside so traffic woke me up. Why was there fish sticks on a morning menu? Elevator sounded like it needed servicing.
The room itself was clean. That's about it.
Pool was cloudy (not the cleaness) Not satisfied with their breakfast at all. We had to crack our own boiled cold eggs & turned out the eggs were all green. No meat at breakfast. Very basic & very un satisfied . Hotel itself had a smell
Good room with TV, fridge, microwave. Lot of sunshine through the windows. friendly staff.
linen we're not ironed Pool is too small
I stayed here with my daughter in late June, then came back with my daughter and my mom in July, and came back yet again with both daughters a few days later, after a family wedding in northern Vermont. Initially, we chose this place because it was near the Metro and included parking and internet service. The location is great; you can walk three blocks, get on the Metro at Plamondon and be anywhere in Montreal in 30 minutes. You have easy access to 15, yet a leafy, pretty residential neighborhood is just a block away. The staff are attentive and multilingual; I arrived just after check-in time, and they made sure our room was clean before giving us our keys. Breakfast was great: waffles, fruit, pastries, the works... plus a Keurig coffee-maker in the room, and free coffee on the first floor next to the vending machines. Internet access is very important to us, and it was great. (It's only available on the first floor, so ask for a room there if you need your email.) My daughter enjoyed the pool. BTW, there's a microwave in the basement if you need to warm something up or pop some popcorn. The Fressers deli is just a few blocks away, serving fresh, healthy food at less than half what you'd pay for the same thing in the touristy places downtown. We also bought fruit, cheese, wine and salad kits at the IGA near Plamondon Station. While Quality Hotel Midtown is off the map of downtown Montreal (just barely), it still delivers the cosmopolitan diversity of this wonderful city. My favorite memory of the place is sitting at breakfast, hearing French, Hebrew, English in a variety of accents, and a number of other languages at the surrounding tables. But with or without the outstanding breakfast and multicultural environment, this place is a great value. If you have questions about the Metro or how to get to the airport (or anywhere), the people at the desk will be able to help you.
This hotel has slammer doors. Every time someone on your floor enters or exits a room, there's a slam. This is probably good for security, but does not make for good sleep. Crank up the fan on the air system to create some background noise; it'll help. The furnishings are a bit worn; the DIY-er in me wanted to scrape out the sealant around the tub in 102 and re-grout it. The couple in 101 was screaming at each other because of the World Cup until 2 a.m. our first night there. (Note to self: stay home during the World Cup.)
Employees were very kind. The room were in good condition. We were surprised with the breakfast, it was very good.
No WiFi at all. When I called the front desk, I was told that a technician was coming the next morning to check it out. Big deal, we stayed for one night. Nowadays a hotel without WiFi is unacceptable.
Proximity to the metro.free parking.
Breakfast was very limited, no table service at all.tables has not been cleaned for 3 days. Overcrowded with kids day in and day out. It seems that bunch of families live there as we have experienced, kids and adults a like are slumbering on couches in the hotel lobby. No decent restaurant around the area. Wifi connection is slow . There's no variety or large selection of food since it's all Kosher
food was ok, no bacon just eggs, nice pool, good sauna, nice bed,
to much traffic driving by, we had to wait one hour to prepare the room, smell like smoke in the hallways
Room was ok Cleanliness was ok
Bad Location Bad Breakfast Too Expensive No Entertainment
Sheets weren't clean and toilet seat wasn't stable
Large room Mini-fridge Breakfast Helpful staff Free parking
Two flights of stairs to room Servicemen leaving sharp tools and coils of wire on the stairs where young children had to pass Permanent fixtures in room need to be cleaned (e.g., unpleasant stains on curtains)
Pool was small. Bathrooms are very dated. A little too far from central Montreal.
I like the breakfast and parking free. They have free wifi too.
They run out of scrambled eggs one morning that we've been there.
The hotel was a short walk to the metro and provided convienent travel to and from downtown. The price was great especially compared to similair rooms in the downtown core.
The neighborhood was a little run down and sketchy. But as long as you atc sensibly it wasn't an issue.
It was a very nice hotel in a not-so-nice area. But we had no problems.
The checkout process.
The dirty elevator, the loud floor, thin walls, dangerous electrical cords holding the exit doors/stairwells open, disgusting pool, and very dirty bathrooms. I know this is a cheaper hotel, but I felt like I could have done better in a hostel.
