Located across the street from the Empress Hotel and conveniently close to all the major sites in Victoria The Inn at the Union Club of BC was a great place to stay. Breakfast was excellent and staff was willing and helpful. Has that old English hotel look and though very clean could use some updating.

We loved the old charm of the building, complete with a wood and glass window elevator. The rooms were quaint but comfortable.

    Can't complain, really.

The location was PERFECT! I was traveling alone with my 10 year old son. I felt like it was very secure with a locked front entrance and incredibly friendly and helpful front staff. The free breakfast was anything off their resturant menu. The menu was varied, amazing and delicious - NOT a buffet. fresh local greens, salmon and more. It was a bit stuffy as it is a private social club with members there. There is a dress code. I grew up with this so it made me feel comfortable it may be a turn off to others. It is probably, speaking in general terms, an "adult" place to stay. That said it was the perfect place for me and my son. couldn't have been happier and will be back next month.

The bed was comfortable and the food excellent. Unique and historic features throughout the hotel, great elevator!

Bathroom while dated and that was okay needed TLC and maintenance.

Staff at the reception were lovely.

This was a second rate hotel at a first rate price.

All the staff we met were incredibly helpful. Michael was our server at breakfast and really made our stay memorable. It was mum's 60th birthday and the candle in her omelette really made us laugh. We'd definitely come back.

The style and aura of the Club and the way the staff made us welcome at a Members' much loved building. Breakfast was delicious with good staff.

We had a problem accessing the wi-fi but this was mildly irritating and not a major issue.

This is the best surprise you can get in old school hotels. Lovely rooms and excellent breakfast and service. Respect the members of the Union Club and you wish to stay a day or two more.

The feeling of being in an English exclusive club. Wonderful breakfast and very helpful staff.

That children could not go to dinner.

This isn't just a hotel. By staying as a guest you get to experience the club as a member does. The food is outstanding

The parking is typically tragic for a downtown location, but that is a minor inconvenience

Wonderful old world atmosphere, Best corned beef sandwich in my life

    Maybe a little too heated

They have absolutely unique facilities such as the reading room and the billiards room. The dining room staff are fabulous. Bed & (serious) breakfast -- who can beat that? Since it is a Club, thee is a graceful calm throughout the place.

The bar is always closed by 11.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff. Great food and value. Definitely will (have) recomended

Wifi speed and accessibility in dining and lounge area sub- par. Needs improvement.

Very close to City Centre but restful and pleasant. Good sized room and nice relaxed feeling.

Having to dress for breakfast (no jeans policy), our room didn't have a view which would have been nice. The dinning room should have been located where the "lounge" is so a view and the natural sun can be appreciated. Please note this is a past "Gentleman's Club", so do have some dress codes but a great place to stay.

I enjoyed the history of your hotel, although the building was built way more than a century ago - but managed to keep up and have maintained in such an excellent state. Front desk people are friendly, place is very clean.
