overall excellent enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful , friendly and very professional.
I thing the cost of parking should have been entered before registration of the room on the internet. I also thought the parking was to costly and should not have been an extra cost to the guests
Close to were I had a appointment.
high ceilings, comfy bed, very clean, 3rd floor communal terrace for drinks or a cigarette, great view
expensive breakfast, restaurant staff not very efficient, pay for parking
Location of hotel,
The humming of the a.c. at night while we tried to sleep.
location was excellent staff were friendly and very accommodating liked the smoking patio
small shelf above toilet in bathroom the only surface for toiletries couldn't direct the a/c flow as the fins for that were broken in the appliance
The staff was awesome. Upgraded our room due to all roads closed around hotel which made it difficult for people who have never been to Kitchener to get to Hotel. Also, provided us extra parking details that saved us money for the whole weekend ☺
I didn't like the shower....burning hot one second freezing the next. The whole shower time was like this both days.
Located right down town , parking is a bit of issue there is a lot but you have to walk would be pain in winter limited valet at $20 a day . Room was larger than expected over all fairly clean but dated . Beds were comfortable
This hotel was lovely - loved the old school charm. Clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic stay!
Excellent staff and the hotel is cleaner than a lot of high end hotels we have stayed at. The bath towels were soft, very white and smelled "April Fresh". We felt like we were staying in a GOOD European hotel.
The bathroom was small-but immaculately clean.
Excellent helpful staff.
A bit noisy due to downtown location.
Staff the best
Air conditioner stop working middle of night. But at check out refunded 25 dollars for inconvinance. Certainly would return
bed was new and super comfortable
bathrooms are in the process of being renovated.
The bed was amazing. Best bed I have ever slept in at a hotel. I liked the history behind the hotel. I liked the cafe beside the hotel as well. I think it was called coffee culture or something like that.
Had to park in an underground parking and pay extra for that.
Like the buffet breakfast and the variety of food. Rooms where good size and the hotel staff very accommodating organising 2 beds in each of our 2 rooms. Clean towels daily
The coffee machine A kettle would be more useful with teabags. The air con / heater was noisy so we turned it off at night.
The noise from the band which I assume was next door
Excellent customer service, above and beyond my expectations.
Nothing to dislike.
The staff were very friendly and made the experience a treat from the very beginning. The room had that great "historic hotel" feel and frankly, even the real key and heavy door made it seem like I had walked into a time machine and into the 1920s. Loved it!
We were there for a wedding. 1 The quaintness and ambience of a historic hotel. 2 The breakfast buffet was lovely.
We enjoyed the location, the history of the hotel, the use of a non electronic key, the wide halls, the very pleasant front desk staff and the coziness of the room itself.
Restricted parking and noise of the heating unit. The vanity chair in our room was quite wobbly. None of these are major complaints.
The room was spacious and quiet; the two beds comfortable and the washroom good. I was also happily surprised to have a small fridge in the room.
Old hotel that has been sold and because of the time line between the new owners and the existing owners a lot of things has slipped through the cracks. Not one ice machine was working. Air conditioner in rooms make a lot of noise. Staff do not look or behave professional some instances. Not attentive to the customers needs. Dark and dingy rooms and hallways.Alot of construction in the area made it difficult to get to the hotel. This hotel needs huge investment to bring it back to the lustre it once had. Will not go back unless I see a significant improvement with the new owners. Over paid for what we received!!
in city core of Kitchener, old hotel trying to revitalize itself.
Misleading info on booking.com it was not a double room for price of 265.00, smaller 1 room 2 double beds but at a better price, parking was misleading, in a lot away from hotel
The hotel has a lot of history behind it. It is kind of old world charming. For being an old building, it was extremely clean. We liked the historical pieces throughout the hotel. Quite classy in its own way.
Because it is in the downtown, you have a certain atmosphere. You have a noise level that does go on.
Charming old school hotel. Extremely clean and comfortable. Located 5 minutes walk from my end destination.
A little rough neighbourhood, homeless people in doorways near hotel. Coffee machine and alarm clock did not work.
