The owners were such a wonderful couple. Had a great evening discussing many things including the history of the island with them. The view of the ocean was exceptional from there home. Breakfast was excellent as well.
Firstly, Brenda and Roger are amazing hosts. Super friendly, we chatted for hours! They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, giving great travel tips while looking out for our schedule. The house is beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated. I was very comfortable sleeping here. One of the main reasons I would go back to Cape Breton is because of people like Brenda and Roger. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
I couldn't spend more time with Brenda and Roger because we only booked one night.
Altogether wonderful visit. Great visiting time with attentive host, excellent bedroom with sound of ocean waves through the window and delicious breakfast.
Roger and Brenda were the best hosts on our recent trip to Cape Breton. They were gracious, hospitable and knowledgeable. Breakfast was scrumptious. We even saw a moose enter the yard from our breakfast table! A wonderful experience that I would recommend to all.
It had everything you might look for; even a little fridge on the landing near the bedrooms. we had the whole place to ourselves, which made it even better! Great beds, great food, great hosts!
Difficult to find after dark. More lighting on the sign would be most appreciated.
We like the location and the good breakfast.
The hosts are two of the friendliest people I've ever met and made me feel right at home. The location is serene with a brilliant view (especially the sunset). They made a lovely breakfast each day and helped plan my days in the area, making my whole stay that much better.
Wifi was a tad slow, but I'm not sure they can do much about that out there.
The owners are great. So welcoming and knowledgable about the area.
The excellent breakfast and the friendly staffers
Roger and Brenda have a very nice home. Our room was spacious with a two piece en suite. (A shower in the main bathroom was also available.) The house overlooks the water and, if you are lucky, whales can be seen. Our visit was a bit late in the season but that didn't prevent us for keeping an eye on the water! Roger's recommendation for dinner was excellent and, in the morning, we enjoyed the best cup of coffee yet along with a huge and delicious breakfast. We would not hesitate to recommend the Yellow Sidecar.
Our stay was comfortable and our hosts welcoming and friendly. We had a delicious breakfast before heading out to continue our adventure.
The Yellow Sidecar B&B is located conveniently just south of Cheticamp, and the hosts Brenda & Roger go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They were extremely helpful in offering suggestions for dinner and activities to do. Breakfast each morning was excellent and a great, filling start to the day. The bedroom is spacious and comfortable, providing a stunning view of the sun setting over the ocean in the evening. The entire premise is spotlessly clean. I would HIGHLY recommend The Yellow Sidecar B&B to anyone considering a stay in Cape Breton.
There was nothing I disliked about The Yellow Sidecar B&B.
Warmth and openness View of the sea Smart and clean Excellent breakfast..very excellent Stories..wonderful rich stories Kindness Their passion for life....
Leaving their home...
everything was awesome, awesome view, awesome breakfast, awesome people. we really enjoyed staying at your place, and would come back anytime (and longer to go for walks etc.). thanks so much for everything!
location, Brenda and Roger (who gave me great advice about seeing the Cape Breton Highlands park), room with view, ambience, 2 large bathrooms so sharing was never an issue (I'd been concerned beforehand)--it was perfect.
It doesn't get any better than the Yellow Sidecar B&B. Roger and Brenda were such a warm and down to earth couple and genuine at heart. My husband and I spent two nights at the B&B and were literally at home. Roger showed us some amazing videos and explained the culture in the area. We took their advice and a doggy bag full of their delicious scones as we toured the Cape Breton Highlands. We dined at the Island Sunset our first night and had a beautiful view of the sunset and beach. We also dined at the All Board and enjoyed the fiddle music so much that we bought a CD. The location of the B&B is spectacular. The breakfasts were sooooo yummy with my favourite eggs Benedicts and the most scrumptious blueberry pancakes ever! This was a truly spectacular experience and so homey that I literally cried when I left. Thank you Roger and Brenda for the privilege of sharing your home and truly experiencing "the east coast culture". We will be forever grateful. Gloria & John.
Loved it all, and have to check out he knick knacks!
Beautiful location, very friendly personable hosts. Delicious breakfast; fresh fruit and the best French toast I've ever had!
Appointed with love and taste, nice hosts, excellent breakfast
Rooms are small, you have to share the bathroom - but that you know in advance and therefore you really cannot consider it a disadvantage
Clean home and room was nice. Good breakfast. Hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed my stay. I liked facing the ocean.
Our hosts were wonderful: warm and personable, they were knowledgeable about the area, regarding history, worthwhile activities and where to eat. The 3 restaurants they recommended were very good but not as great as the breakfasts they prepared. The view is superb.
Nothing. We'll happily stay with them next time we travel through Cape Breton.
Warm, welcoming. They really wanted our stay their to enhance our vacation.
Brenda and Roger are very warm hosts-really friendly atmosphere and they served a great homecooked meal.

From the time we arrived until the moment we left, our stay at The Yellow Sidecar B&B was a very special part of our vacation on Cape Breton Island. Roger and Brenda were wonderful hosts whom we enjoyed getting to know. They were helpful in telling us things about the island that we wouldn't have learned otherwise and gave excellent recommendations about where to eat, what to see and how to enjoy our stay. The room was very attractive and comfortable, and breakfast was memorable. Even a recommendation of "Excellent" doesn't do justice to the enjoyment we had during our stay at The Yellow Sidecar.
There wasn't anything we didn't like about The Yellow Sidecar B&B.
