Lovely garden to sit in and watch the birds. Lovely hosts. Excellent food, good local village with bistro and shops. Easy local bus service to cable car at Grouse Mountain

I did not mind, but they have dogs which guests should know. The property is on a fairly busy main road so there is some traffic noise

-Very sympathic hosts -Close to Capilano-Park for good walks and to Grouse Mountain (free parking at the street) -Nice building & garden

-Our room to steep and busy mountain road (Hw#1) was very load - even with closed windows (no air-con; day temperature up to 30C). -Breakfast is a fixed serie of dishes which was tasty but is more like a lunch (potatos, meat in alcohol, etc) and needs an hour. -All B&Bs on our way in BC and AL were much cheaper and provided more brochures (tourist info), more space, better wifi-signal in the room.

Thistledown is run by wonderful people and the breakfast is the best I've ever had at a B&B.

The house is charming and the owners, Rex and Ruth are perfect hosts. The room was absolutely perfect and the breakfasts were excessively excellent.

It's a quick turn into the driveway. We missed it the first time and you need to be very careful.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The breakfasts were top-notch in quality and presentation. The room was very comfortable and everything was calm and quiet. The hosts were interesting and a pleasure to talk to and had great recommendations for local activities and restaurants. It was a great weekend getaway and we'd go back in a heartbeat.

We liked it all! Ruth and Rex were such great hosts. The food was excellent and the gathering at the breakfast table was fun entertaining and great conversations were had by all. The room was amazing with the cozy fireplace area and lovely outside deck. When it came time to leave it was like leaving family. We will definately be back.

Ruth and Rex are perfect hosts. It feels like being old friends after staying there for three days. The place is very cosy with an awesome garden. Thistle Down is located perfectly to explore Vancouver downtown. With the insider knowledge of our hosts it was a perfect stay. Danke schön, wir kommen gerne wieder!

What an experience! To stay there was a pleasure. To hear the history of the house a plus. We would definitely come again. Enjoyed the tour of the yard - it was like walking through the "Secret Garden". There was not one thing we didn't like! The breakfast was 5 star dining.

Everything! Liz was wonderful! Her breakfasts were excellent! And her smile and warmness was over the top! Location was one of the best- walking distance to Capilano Bridge and Edgemont village. Quick car ride to Quess Cross Neighborhood Pub. Hoping to return next year! Thank you for such a pleasant stay - great way to end our business in the city by relaxing in the country :)

If you are looking for a BnB in Vancouver, this is the one. A beautiful and typical canadian house. An awesome staff with a delicious gourmet breakfast. The location is perfect to rest. Capilano Bridge is located one block from there. To Grouse Mountain it only takes you 5 minutes by bus. Rex (the owner) is an espectacular guy, really intelligent and very friendly.

It's a little bit far from downtown. Maybe 30/40 minutes by bus/seabus.

The ThistleDown House is a warm and inviting experience. For those who are tired of the dreary: bed, two lamp hotel room, this is a treat! The decor is lovely, the food scrumptious and the hospitality unending. How kind of these hosts to invite you into their fabulous home!

    Are you kidding?

The rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated. The sunken fireplace and air jet tub were wonderful. Excellent meals, friendly hosts, very nice little touches. Games and books available to borrow. :)

The bed wasn't particularlly comfortable Maybe too firm? Might have enjoyed a DVD player to watch a movie.

Owner and staff were very warm and friendly. Bed was VERY comfortable and so was room. Garden was pleasant. It had a pleasant, homey atmosphere but with wonderful antiques. Three cute Scottie dogs!

Wonderfully helpful owners, full of suggestions for walks, places to eat and totally focused on ensuring we had everything we needed. Breakfast was a feast, around a large shared table so we got to hear the stories of other visitors, a great way to connect briefly with others. in a perfect position to access the tourist spots of grouse mountain and the capolino suspension bridge.

Our room, Pages, was beautifully appointed, quiet and luxurious. We enjoyed a bottle of wine in an alcove in the garden after our arrival - it was very relaxing- then strolled into a nearby village for dinner (Canyon restaurant was delicious!). Breakfast the next morning was three delicious courses, which included fresh wild blueberries picked the day before. Ruth and Rex are amazing hosts. We hope to come back soon!

    Nothing to dislike!

Actually everything was perfect. The owners are treating everybody really like guests, not just as customers. The breakfast was amazing, not typical for Europe but extremely good. The location very nice as it was walking distance from Suspension bridge. At the same time it is not far from downtown and other attractions of Vancouver.

Just a bit noise from the street as our room had the windows from that side! But after closing the window it was OK.
