Everything was fantastic. ocean view, hot tub, fire place, bbq and full use of a kitchen, couldnt get any better than that!
Gorgeous setting, ten minute walk to town. Friendly hosts and access to a hot tub and firepit overlooking beautiful water views.
Had trouble with WiFi
The communal kitchen was very well equipped and the view was first rate.
Location and fantastic view. Common area for cooking, dining and entertainment (contemporary equipped) with water view. BBQ and fireplace on the grounds to make friends and share stories. Friendly host.
Room very musty. Drain pipe from shower upstairs runs through the room below. Do not think sheets changed regularly. Found chips in between the sheets before going to sleep.
The outdoor and garden area were very nice .beautiful view of the ocean inlet. Comfortable outdoor seating.
Our room was very musty. smelling. This smell permeated even our clothing so that the clothes smelled this musty smell until hey were cleaned.
the stunning views of the bay, the hot tub that we can use 'anytime', free use of the fully equipped communal kitchen, the lovely gardens, comfortable king size bed. It would be my pleasure to stay there again . . .
I had a bit of trouble with the wifi but no other complaints whatsoever.
Amazing location + fantastic view from the garden Well equipped kitchen
We had a room at the back which was extremely damp, dark and smelly - if you had a room at the front of the hotel it would be worth the money
very people freindly,a nice place after the long drive.
consistant rain,we picked the wrong week-end
Beds weren't comfortable
The view , and the location
The bedroom. It was beside the kitchen , and it was noisy .
Reasonable accomodation for the price.
Old beds that creaked during the night. Also our lower harbor view room was located under the common area and we could her noises and people talking. We are early to bed people.
- friendly stuff - nice view over the ocean - familiar accomandation
View. Location. Atmosphere.
Musty smell in the room and bedding. The dogs should not be loose on the property.
I love the right on the water rustic atmosphere of the Swell Lodge.
The outside sitting area was beautiful - lots of comfortable seating. The fire pit was well enjoyed - lots of wood and kindling cut so easy to make a fire. The common room was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, coffee, and the like. A lovely water view from the common room. The service and rooms are a whole other story.
Service and rooms. The lady who came to the door did not seem friendly or welcoming at all. Not sure if this was because we did not book directly with the lodge but went through your website. There are 7 rooms - we were given 2 dark deary rooms - seemed like we were in an old dreary basement. We were with an elderly aunt (87) and uncle (89) and had booked two rooms. I thought I had booked two rooms with a view and mentioned this to the lady. I had no evidence I did so - just my recollections and since this is the first time I used your online booking service I thought then perhaps I was mistaken. My room had a strong smell - my aunt thinks it was Febreze. We set the suitcase down and went out for dinner. I opened the window before we went out to get rid of the smell. When we came back the smell was still strong so I went back to the house to let the lady know. She came down to the room - and said she did not smell anything. This seemed strange to me as the smell was very strong. She did give me a different room - not one with a view but a different room nevertheless. I indicated that I thought I had booked 2 rooms with a view - she said no she does not use these room for folks who book through your online service. There were 3 rooms with a view - only one was booked the night we stayed. There appeared to be newer carpet in the rooms with a view. Seemed to be a bit more updated (carpet, furniture) or perhaps it was they had a more light and did not look like they were in an old basement with that old musty basement feeling/smell. We really enjoyed the outdoor setting -however due to the poor service and the dark dreary rooms we would not stay here again or recommended this lodge to others. Customer service was poor - had the lady offered to change us to the rooms with the water view our experience would have been much more positive. As the rooms were not booked that night this would have been a small thing.
Great location within walking distance of town and with fabulous views. The kitchen and lounge area give you a home away from home feel. Staff (Louise) and owner both very nice.
The cheaper rooms without the view are somewhat dark.
Lights above the single beds are too low.
Excellent hosts. Great view and location. All around best mini vacation I've had in my life.
Having to leave at the end of the weekend
They have to bedroom in the common guest area with Kitchen facility, Guest can cook their meal if they wish. My room ad no TV, ( $ 95.00 ) only DVD ( Year 2014) So they change my room, closer to the Kitchen, with no insulation between the wall, you can imagine the noise and smell's of every meal of the other guests, so the owner tell is wife, give him is money back I want him the hell out of here. We talking 8 Pm. and then there offer me an other room, at this point I said never mind, What ever you do, be careful!!!!!!
Fire pit, BBQ and deck had amazing views, a great kitchen, and amazing beds and linens
it was easy to find and the part of the property facing the water was very nice. plenty of linens for bathroom. was very accomadating when i asked for a room with bigger beds.
the wi-fi was not accessible, we didnt have a cable hook-up in our room. no screen on sliding door, bed and hide-a-bed were very uncomfortable. common area was great except when people were using it during very late hours and we were trying to sleep especially as our bedroom door led to the common area...no privacy. we had no housekeeping service but werent actually sure if our stay included housekeeping
The view was fabulous. The towels and bed linen was clean. They had a common room with a full kitchen, eating area and entertainment area for all guests.
The room we had booked had no view at all. This was not mentioned upon booking. We changed to a room with a view for $20 more. The rooms smelled mouldy. There was no coffee maker in the room, no microwave or fridge. There was no shampoo, lotion, shower cap and things like that.
Stunning view, nice hot tub, good location, very comfortable common area with very well equipped kitchen.
overall this place is fantastic, boutique sort of lodge with great view of the water from the deck/hottub. decent rooms with view. kitchen and common area well stocked.
