Score from 48 reviews Good
very convenient for ferry terminal....big rooms and good parking....lots of updates and painting going on when we stayed. great place.
The VIA train was late and they kept reception open until we arrived.
Although the room was dated, it was clean and the bed were old but descent. The location is the closest to the train and ferry terminal.
At check-in, the small lobby smelled awful. Not a good first impression. The next morning, there was a cat all over the food counter and cat hair all over. We stayed there 2 nights, a week apart. Both times there was no butter, cereal, milk or juice and the resident cat (and cat hair) was on the food preperation counter both mornings. Not very appealing or sanitary. They should not advertise the continental breakfast. I would not stay there again.
The manager was very helpful to us, helped us getting to the Alaskan ferry, and our return late at night made easier. Rooms were being renovated, but workers we're considerate.
They let us in.
That the train was so late that we only stayed for about 4 hours!!
Love the family atmosphere, great couple, sweet little boy, the dog, the cat. A home away from home!
Clean Room size good Location good
1. Hallways smelled like pine sol - found that disturbing! 2. ALL the carpets need to replaced they are old and stained 3. Rooms stuffy, asked for a fan
Service and price
Room very hot no a/c, limited breakfast items
I loved the kitchen and the aqua appliances. It was like being back in the 50's! I used the hot water appliance to make tea so that was nice. Not too far from downtown or the train station- we took the city bus all over to see the area. I liked seeing the cat at the hotel also - it reminded me of the ones I left at home.
no air conditioner but we opened a window and the room aired out. I have a friend who I may take back to the area but he is in a wheelchair and there are stairs up to the hotel so I won't be able to stay there with him. I realize not all hotels are wheelchair accessible and since this is an older hotel I am not surprised. But I would stay there again if I didn't have a wheelchair.
It was poorly maintained - only the front and side had been recently painted. Our hearts sank when we approached from the unpainted side and realised this was what we had booked. It looked tatty outside and was even more tatty inside. Sheets and towels were cleanand staff friendly but carpets were really dirty and the corridor smelled of disinfectant. if they really want the ferry customers business then they need to spend money quickly
no coffee early a.m.
the location close to the ferry
The "included " breakfast was a laugh !
Dirty, noisy , our no smoking room was smelling cigarettes... Never again !!!!
The room was neat and clean.
This was a non smoking room near the front entrance of the motel and at least twice in the night, we could smell strong cigarette smoke from those persons who were smoking and standing by that entrance. This happened both times we stayed at this motel, at the start of our journey and 2 weeks later at the end of our journey.
The motel was located well - mid-way between the train and the town.Rooms were very spacious and clean although a little tired. Bed was wonderful. Staff were friendly and helpful even though we were very late getting in due to delays in train schedules.
Although I like dogs, I didn't like that he was in the breakfast area - could have been awful for people with allergies.
poor condition, smelly, would not stay there again
Towels, Pillows, need replacing
the rooms have lots of space
the heater make noise.
Pet friendly Spotless
Staff knew community and how to give directions
No dining facilities
The room was clean..
Hard to find with address given and poor signing, broken down bed and no acknoledgement of our complaint. Room was very cold.
Being able to bring your pets.
Their facilities are a bit dated but it was nice overall.
