Nothing.... Except it was close to the place where I had to be. I have stayed with your company for a full week of Nov. 20- Nov. 25. Haven't experienced neither nice rooms nor great people. In fact, I would consider this to be my worst experience ever! I am travelling constantly, and your company is out of the list of places to stay in, considering I could be a potential sweet deal customers for you, guys. The front desk person Arvind Thiagi treated me like people don't treat their dogs. I am a business professional coming for a serious meeting to Ottawa was greeted as "Hey", was never offered a help with my suit case, and had to take in upstairs myself (a woman) while Arvind was watching me. I asked him the same night (I arrived 7 P.M.) for the direction of where I had to be the next morning, as I didn't know the city. I was told he would call me to the room. Well, it never happened. My room was a different story. I was given a prison cage, which I have a feeling was never cleaned since the opening of the hotel. Dirty, with the signs of previous urination on the bathroom walls... With the dust sitting on the shelves, etc. My wall outlet was not working, my tv wasn't as well. Next morning I asked the front desk girl downstairs if I could change the room, the response was "Yes, yours is too small, so change it to a bigger one as we have rooms available". Same evening (Mon, Nov. 21) I am coming to see front desk Arvind, and I am being told that I got what I paid for!! I didn't pay for the broken things that are not working, however, Arvind tells me that I have a fridge in my room, so I should be happy. Well, the fridge wasn't working neither, (it was clicking at night, I threw my sushi the next day), but the issue he jumped into was why I was told about other options by the front desk girl!!! (I am not sure about her name). He told me he will leave a note for tomorrow (Tue) for this girl and she will change the room for me.

Located downtown Ottawa, close to attractions, shops, restaurants, boutiques, etc. Excellent bed. Old building that would need renovations. We heard the wind blow all night long, the cold air was coming in through the window. Parking not easy, narrow, slippery.

I liked the convenience to shopping and businesses. I liked that the hotel included breakfast and the room was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was very good for a downtown location. The parking lot was very small and at times it was really difficult to get my car out of the lot. It was a very tight squeeze with other cars parked there and the lot being too small. The lot and particularly the driveway was very icy. The driveway was also very narrow.

Price, but the promised shuttle was not running at the time I arrived, I had to spend too much on a cab. Would have been better off to stay close to airport and spend more on room, but get a free shuttle. Will not stay here again.

All I can say is don't listen to 90% of the reviews. I was looking for a low-price, clean hotel for my boyfriend and I to stay in for New Years eve/day; we stayed Friday, December 30th until Sunday, January 1st. The hotel itself was nice enough, the room was clean with personal temperature controls in each unit (our friend stayed in a separate room at the same time as us) and the staff was friendly enough. It was a good hotel at a great price point and within walking distance of downtown (rideau/parliament/byward market/bank st etc); which was especially convenient after midnight on New Years as we were able to walk back to the hotel rather than fight for a cab. Just remember to take reviews with a grain of salt, this hotel is a comfortable stay at a great price point. The only downside for us was parking, as we were in a full size truck and parking can be tight. The man at the front desk did mention leaving our keys with him but found a parking spot where that wasn't necessary when we protested. Other than that, we missed out on the Continental breakfast both mornings as we are not early risers, but there was still cereal etc out so if we had wanted a quick bite to eat we could have helped ourselves.

Good location, in between transitway bus stops (each direction travels along a different, one-way street). Easy trip from the train station. Rooms are undergoing renovation, ours in good nick - new TV, beds clean and comfortable, bathroom modernised. Breakfast, as would expect for free. Laundry was small and drab. Lack of change at front desk.

It is in the heart of the city so accessible to everything. 1) Rooms are not vacuumed everyday as per our experience. 2) Everyday there is same breakfast.

Walking distance to all attractions, downtown and Byward Market, continental breakfast, quiet, clean, safe. It's located in an area where four star hotels are moving in, which will eventually push it out.

The staff were nice. Room needed major, major update! Furniture also needed major updating. No tv in bedroom. While there were cupboards in the suite there was not a thing in them. Blinds in living area were broken. The stairs down, immediately as you enter are hazardous. As I sat in a chair waiting in the lobby for a cab drops of rain fell on my head. The entire facility needs repair and an update.

Convenient to downtown. I booked because it had car parking but found when I arrived that the car space was being resurfaced. When I checked into my room it was shaking with earth moving equipment just outside the window. I was told I could park on the gravel overnight as long as I left the keys with the desk so that it could be moved for the laying of tar surface starting at 7:00am. I was wakened by the workmen outside my room window at 6:20. When I went to get my car at 7:30 it was not where I was told at first but on returning to the desk was told it was in the school park. When I got in I was surprised to see all contents of the door pockets thrown on the floor. I didn't have time to check further as I had to get to a meeting but when I got home I found items in the trunk thrown about and a heavy winter coat I keep in the trunk for winter emergencies was missing. Not a pleasant visit

Friendly staff. We found that the parking was an issue at the Travelodge on Albert St in Ottawa. There were very few spots available on site at the hotel. We also would have preferred a room with a queen sized bed, but it didn't seem like there was any in the hotel.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the room was fine. The bed/mattress was not so comfortable, and the bar fridge in the room made noise. Overall, for the price and the great staff, it was worth it! I would would return!

Located in lovely old buildings. Needs some love and money. Be aware parking is crowded and you need to leave your keys with the desk staff.

Florian, Gundelsheim |
