Very close to the most important visiting points in Ottawa. In general the hotel is not well clean, parking lot is too small, breakfast room incredible dirty, the guy who "replenish" cofee, bread etc at the breakfast room wears an unbelievable dirty, roting and old clothing (the same all the three days we stood there).

The cost vs the location are excellent. Close enough to the down core, without breaking the bank, Bus stops just infront, and behind the hotel. Quiet neighbourhood, with a convienence store right across the street.

Location was good and staff were very friendly. Bathroom was in bad condition and curtains were dirty. No elevator so had to walk up and down stairs (rather steep).

The location was excellent, close to major museums and walking distance to Byeward Markets and the restaurant precinct. A very good pub (The Black Bear) nearby with inexpensive good meals. The rooms were clean and neat, with great showers, and a good continental breakfast buffet in a relaxed dining room made for a pleasant stay. Free parking and free wi- fi were big selling features. The building is a little old, and or room had a decided slope to the floor, that meant that you slept head down. As I suffer from acidosis I had to sleep with my feet at the headboard to stop the acid running down to my throat, the slope is that noticeable. But that would not be an issue for most people.

Its an old building with the characteristic squeeks and cracks of old floors. Very rustic, I enjoyed that. The front counter staff was very helpful, very knowledgeable and for the purposes of my stay the economic cost and good location made for an enjoyable stop over. I liked the breakfast selection, made for a light, quick balanced meal before heading out for the day. The bed was a bit soft for my liking. My back requires something more firm, but as it was just a one night stay not anything overly problematic.

Converted from an old home this hotel is charming. They serve an adequate breakfast from 7 to 10 am plus coffee tea or hot chocolate throughout the day. It is an easy enough walk to the parliament buildings, the superior court, and many other government agencies as well as to China town. Travel to and from the airport is an easy and convenient 30 minute bus ride (#97) without any need to switch busses and the stops just a couple of minutes from the hotel entrance. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would definately return. Some might find it a bit strange to be asked to leave the room while it is being cleaned, this being more of a cultural thing pertaining to some of the house cleaning staff than a hotel policy. This was not a negative for me but an excuse to have a hot beverage in the lobby and stretch my legs. They are long time staff and are to be trusted.

The location is perfect (walking distance to all of downtown) and the staff are very friendly. I stay there every time I come to Ottawa. It is about half the price of anywhere else downtown. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the bus from the airport stops right across the street (much cheaper than taxi). There is hot tea available all night in the lobby and the internet is fast and reliable. The last time I had one problem: the alarm clock didn't work in my room. Fortunately I still caught my plane. The breakfast is nothing special.

First of all this hotel is not a travellodge it's an independent hotel (Doral Inn) in accordance with travelodge. When we checked in we discovered that room was in the third floor and there were no elevators. As soon as we got in the room we found out that there were rotten fruits in the refrigerator and that there was no heating, just a noisy malfunctioning air-conditioning, we felt cold during the night. Also there was no soap. They offer Wi-Fi but is not great, there were Two computers available for use but they had to Linux and who can use Linux? They were also very slow. The location of the hotel is not bad but not very good Either. The breakfast is good, and they have complimentary coffee all day. When we check it out a lady asked us if we had all of those bags in the third floor, we said we did and she asked why didn't anybody offered us a room when the first floor, I said I didn't know. They offer prizes if your do a review in tripadvisor, which I don't think is very nice. No elevators, three floors of rooms. No heating! In Ottawa sometimes os -40ºc and there is no heating in the room! Found rooting food in the refrigerator.

no parking, if you want to park you either have to on the road or give the staff the key to your vehicle so they can move all of the other guests vehicles. the staff was rude and they did not have an elevator making it very difficult for disabled guests to get around. hotel is right on a busy corner. when we got in our room the window was wide open in the middle of February and there was snow on the bed. rooms are small and do not book and pay for multiple nights because if you decide to leave early they still charge you, and even if you have to leave the hotel because you are disabled they charge you. these people only care about the money. and if you dont believe me i invite you to stay at this run-down shack to find out for yourself. in this case i cant even say you get what you paid for

Good value for the price. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Similar with the free breakfast -- plain but reasonable choice and good quality. All the staff we encountered were excellent; friendly and helpful. l Could use a refresh, especially the bathroom, where there were chips in the tub finish -- but then, the price would probably rise.

Located at the very edge of the Ottawa downtown core, only five minutes walk from the office building where I had business. Close to a wide range of eating establishments within walking distance. Fairly easy access by car once the grid of one-way streets has been figured out. Continental breakfast provided was adequate but not very special. Car parking for guests is advertised, but in reality it is a narrow laneway with hardly room to turn around and the car keys must be left at the Reception so that the receptionist can shuffle cars around if you want to get in and out. On street free parking in front of hotel at night and on weekends, extremely expensive metered parking during the day on weekdays. No elevator, stairs to several floors and steps up and down in corridors. Not good for heavy baggage.

“Die Lage, in unmittelbarer Nähe der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten (Parlament, Art Gallery usw.) ist wohl der größte Vorteil des Hotels. Ansonsten handelt es sich um ein absolut passables Stadthotel. Mit Sicherheit nicht luxuriös aber keinesfalls schäbig. Man kann mitten in der Stadt Parken (kostet eben etwas extra, spart aber viel Zeit und Mühe).” Florian, Gundelsheim |

“DAs by Ward Blue hat in allen Richtungen überzeugt. Sehr gut freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr gute Lage und als totale überrachung wurde Frühstück - ein für kanadische Verhältnisse sehr gutes - kostenlos angeboten. Dazu des Nachmittags Kaffee mit Leckereien und Früchten. Alles perfekt. Man sollte sich nicht durch das äußere beeinflusssen lassen - es wirkt für den ersten Augenblick etwas ältlich.” Ludger, Geldern |
