I loved Ucluelet a whole lot more than Tofino, it isn't as touristy and "plastic", like the difference between Banff and Jasper, I always prefer the place closer to nature. Maybe doesn't have all the sandy beaches, but one can easily drive to it. I'd love it if the information about the length of the walks to beaches etc. were more clear, even on the hike, like where we are now and how long to go etc. Beauty in abundance, I loved every minute of it, I remembered it from 10 years ago and it was even better now. I'd love to come back for more and be able to just sit and listen to the ocean. Please, please don't let it become Tofino where you can't enjoy what rightfully belongs to the public without paying more than you can afford! I love Ucluelet! <3

Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year.
Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year. The beaches are more rugged than Tofino which makes for dramatic storm watching on windy days. There are some good restaurants and a grocery store, liquor store etc. If you're looking for raging night life, this is not the place. If you're into being outside, it's great. There are tons of trails, beaches and lookouts to explore.

Loved the proximity to the ocean.
Loved the proximity to the ocean. Great hiking trails in the area and quite a few good restaurants. Enjoyed the low key, unpretentious vibe. We aren’t surfers but it looks like a fantastic place to surf.

Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit.
Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit. Their restaurant was so good I ate there 3 times!
Drift Spa at the resort swept me away with four hours of endless Thalassotherapy. They use the cleanest, best skincare on the planet, Seaflora Skincare. Loved my treatments and left stocked up on Seaflora.
Pluvio Restaurant was an experience of its own. We spent 3.5hrs slow food feasting. Peach salmon, hum dogs, pork belly and so many tasty artistic plates that gave us food babies! The chef is truly an artist the way he presents his flavour creations. At one point he gave us these deep fried tomato slice shaped pastry with salmon roe and a creamy sauce… perfect sweet n savory we talked about it for hours!
Pacific Trail was nice, South Beach, Wyat Point… it was all a really nice experience. Heartwood Cafe traditional Benny used real pea meal bacon, which no one out west seems to know about - but that’s how u make a real eggs Benny. Ukee has it all.

Ucluelet is a fantastic little village next to the ocean...
Ucluelet is a fantastic little village next to the ocean with great hiking or running paths and beautiful views that you will not see elsewhere. It is not overly commercial and the people are extremely friendly. It is a wonderful place to decompress and get some fresh air.
The hotel and resturant were outstanding. Clean spacious room, sunny balcony, pet friendly, great bathroom facilities, and amazing breakfast each morning. All the little things are high quality and nothing is missing.
The resturant is on another level for dining experience and great food. Highly recommend eating at the resturant at least one night of a stay.
All the staff are very friendly and amazing at their jobs. The property caters for canine family members.
The motel looks very sketchy from the outside like it’s been abandoned. The inside is out dated like an old motel but did have a full kitchen and separate bedroom/ bath and was clean. The value is excellent for the west coast way cheaper than other pet friendly options however your expectations shouldn’t be high. It was a clean and affordable which was what we wanted. We were out exploring the whole time so only really slept there.
Ucluelet's coastal vistas are world class, so an ocean view suite & veranda is worth any extra $$, and BlackRock's architecture is iconic, and works well to showcase the adjacent seaside topography... we enjoyed 'surf-watching' from the hot tubs
Both restaurants are well worth a visitation with the food offerings most tasty and well priced... the local lamb offering was our favourite.
The review title sums it all up! In addition, the spot in Ucluelet by the harbour is gorgeous, and of course all the spectacular outdoor scenery in Ukee, Tofino and in between is just stunning! Don’t hesitate to book this place - it’s well-stocked in terms of kitchen and has all the comforts of home you could want, and then some! Very comfy beds and pillows. Enjoy your stay!
Only one out of three heaters worked in the room... The lights did not work in the loft and the wiring had been macgivered! Bathtub would not drain.. and shower curtain had a 7-in rip in it. outside stairs were slippery and my daughter-in-law fell down them. This hotel anywhere else would be less than $100 a night. On the plus side the staff were absolutely wonderful!!!
Room 201 & 202 have a balcony that overlooks the harbour. Beautiful. The accommodations was decorated with wonderful Indonesian style furniture. Close to all Ucluelet amenities & pristine beach walks. And all of this at a reasonable price compared with other local hotels & motels. And a respite from hyper busy Tofino. Highly recommended. I will be back.
Alice was a lovely host who gave us lots of information about the area and provided a delicious breakfast every day. She even got up early to prepare our breakfast when we had an early start! It was the only B&B that we stayed in during our three week holiday and had a welcoming feel to it the you don't always get in a hotel.
The hotel, staff and stay was was really good. Great place to stay while visiting Ucluelet & Tofino. You maybe might want to take off the advertising of "adult only and pet free". Both of those features were definitely on site. No bother to me, but maybe to the next guest. Thankyou for the wonderful stay................
Lovely location. Semi-private beach access. Quiet, tucked away neighbourhood.
We came across this accommodation while looking for a place to stay last-minute. Everything was fully booked in Tofino or crazy expensive, so we were very excited to have found a place near the area!
Everything was really nice and clean. Easy to find and check in/out was efficient and easy. Too bad I was only there one night, they have some nice outdoor space to relax. Really close to Tofino (1/2hr drive) and some hikes and paths and national parks
This is a well-run accommodation in a quiet part of Ucluelet. We met the owner Molly on departure, she is a very pleasant communicative woman. There were maps in the room and useful information about dining and excursions in the area.
The loft was very spacious and inviting. The deck was a great place to view the outdoors. Quiet and secluded from downtown Ucluelet with a short drive to all the great restaurants. Kevin is a great host and would book again.
The location overlooking a fresh water estuary at low tide across the bay from Ucluelet was spectacular. We saw eagles fishing and drinking fresh water from the stream twice a day .
large well equipped room with kitchenette
lovely park like area at back with picnic tables and visit from deer with twin fawns
thoughtful accommodation for special needs child
