The rooms were clean but the atrium was not clean. The carpet to the stairway was very dirty so this is not appealing.
Locks on door did not work, iron in room did not work, hair dryer in room did not work, carpets were dirty
Service was prompt and very friendly
Dirty carpet, broken light plug (which was repaired in a timely manner)

Spacious, back entry to our level...plenty of parking.
Roadworks made it hard to get in and out
Was close enough to Old Town, beds were comfortable, room was clean. The coffee was good! Hot tub small but OK.
Room was of poor quality, ie:toilet ran continually, inadequate lighting and plugs in room; and water was tepid to cold in the morning for shower. At check in/out, no mention was made of coupons or CAA which we had, but were unable to use.
Excellent location for a stop in Quebec City. Central location, easy to find. Great rate & service. Loved the pool area.
the hotel is not a 4 stars as stated by booking but a 3 one
Staff were very friendly. Bathroom in room was nice.
Hotel was run down and dirty. Carpets were very dirty. Unpleasant smells. Hard beds, not comfortable.
It was awesome for the price. The spa and pool area is gorgeous. The whole interior is very pleasant. The boston pizza connected to it is very convenient. Just keep in mind that you would need to bus for 10-20 mins to go to old quebec. The hotel isn't near any tourist attraction site
The front desk seemed a bit under staffed.
The spa is the selling point, we really loved it and that's what would bring us back. We also appreciated the upgrade to the superior room. The extra space was great.
The mattresses are not very comfortable.
The blanket had a blood stain, toilet, tissue papers, hand and face towels were not replaced. Complained to staff and they did nothing about it.
My boyfriend and I (in our 20's) stayed at Hotel Universal for 1 night during the month of July. When we checked in, the receptionist was very kind. She noticed that we booked a room with 2 beds through booking.com, therefore she offered us a free upgrade to a room with a king size bed, jacuzzi and balcony overlooking the spa. Since it was raining all day, we decided to make use of the spa and it was indeed very nice and relaxing. The room was very clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back if ever we planned to visit Quebec City again.
There was a lot of construction happening right in front of the hotel.
The facilities were very nice. We enjoyed the pool area and we could exit our room right into it. We felt the value was great with this hotel.
Breakfast was not included.
Room very big and clean, nice swimming pool and Boston Pizza inside the hotel
Road construction in front of the hotel
Loved the pool, but there was too much chlorine. Very hard on the eyes even when you didn't go into the pool. I was disappointed there was no hot tub.
Cheap rate, Friendly staff, Spacious room
No fridge, No kettle, No storage, Poor shower head, Noise making air conditioner, Strong smell from swimming pool throughout the corridor, No laundry room,
The staff were responsive.
We arrived after 6:00 pm, tired and hungry. However, when we went to our room, we saw immediately that it had not been cleaned! The bed was unmade, there was a dirty coffee mug on the desk, wet towels in the bathroom, etc. I complained at the reception and, instead of immediately offering me a new room, I was told they would send someone to clean the dirty one. My husband said this was unacceptable and we asked for another room, which we were eventually given. Throughout the hotel, I found the overall standard of cleanliness to be unacceptable for a (supposedly) 3-star establishment. The hall carpet is stained and the wallpaper is peeling. In our room, the grout in the shower was moldy and obviously in need of a good scrub. The fixtures and furniture were shabby, and the bed was not comfortable. Furthermore, the cleaners did a poor job. They did not bother to vacuum, empty the trash can (which was full of dirty diapers!) or change the wet towels in the bathroom. After a long day of sightseeing in Quebec City, I had to go to the front desk and specifically ask for fresh towels. Finally, when I went to use the coffee maker, I noticed that it had not been cleaned (and we had not used it previously). The carafe was dirty, and the wet filter was still in the machine. Breakfast is not included in the rate. In fact, the hotel does not even have a restaurant, but there's a Boston Pizza attached, if you get really desperate. The pool is much, much smaller than pictured; in fact, I believe the pictures on Booking.com may qualify as deceptive advertising as far as this hotel is concerned. Indeed, I would classify it as a motel rather than a hotel. All in all, I was deeply disappointed by my stay here and can only advise other travelers to stay away!
Staff were really nice , Location was great
The shower curtains weren't meant for the shower , got a lot of water on the floor .
The pool and the room were great. The decor is nice and the concept is fun.
A little more attention to the pool area is needed. There were only dirty towels all the time we were there and neither the sauna or steam bath worked.
The rooms were good my kids and i appreciated it alot. Loved the pool. great restaurant. great hot tub
my parents wre missing the fridge in the room. we could only go to our room at 4h. the sauna wasnt hot. too much products in the hot tub had to leave it cause it burned our eyes
