It is in the middle of the old city of Montreal, you can visit all points of interests on foot. Rooms need more ventilation and fresh air

It was very vintage, and included much of the old-montreal style. I would recommend this hotel to a friend but only for the price, without the luxe. The regular price I beleive was over $100.00 which is not very reasonable for the service that they offer and for the quality of the room The television was very tiny, and the room was very small. One of the lights stopped working as soon as we stepped foot into the room. They charge $1.00 per phone call, even if it is local.

The only thing we liked was the location. Our bathroom was in disrepair and was gross. Hair on the toilet, mold and slime behind the faucet, the shower head mount was coming out of the wall. When we turned on the water, it smelled awful. We had to lift the head of the bed 3 inches on phone books because the floor was so uneven. The staff was barely cordial and every time we came into the lobby from outside we smelled food, sewage or some other unpleasant affront.

Friendly staff good location in terms of proximity to Old Montreal. Hotel is rundown and the room was dirty. There is no elevator. The walls are paper thin and tiny. You can here other guests coming and going into their rooms and having conversations. Around the hotel there is vacant buildiings and both day and night there were homeless people and drug addicts around the hotel and surrounding streets leading to and from the hotel. It is not a safe area for single lady, elderly or family travelers. There is other hotels in Old Montreal with better and safer locations although you will pay more money. Also they give you old schoolmate with a giant key ring with three sets of keys. Nicknamed this e Bate's Moreland would never stay there again.

Very nice quaint hotel with some history to it. Fantastic location just a few minuites walk to old Montreal and very reasonably priced. On a very quiet street also. Incredibly small room for two people. Thin walls you could hear other people in their rooms. Hot water took awhile but eventually came.

Friendly staff. Awful rooms encouraged us to explore the city a lot more. The room smelled like old milk. We bought some fabreeze and after hoesing the place down it smelled ok. I wish the room was better decorated. Literally you get a bed and bathroom.

We liked its location, in Vieux Montreal. We had stayed in Montreal two weeks earlier, at a location a 30-minute walk away, and this place was much more convenient for our needs (24-hour stay). The hotel seemed to be family run and that gave it a nice atmosphere. It felt safe. The internet was fast. We didn't talk much to the owners, our stay was too short; we didn't eat at the restaurant either. It was definitely a budget hotel, but it met our two minimum standards: safe and clean. Our room was actually tiny, but we were hardly in it except to sleep, and the bed was normal/queen sized. This would not be the place to stay if one planned to luxuriate in the room for much of the time. We got what we paid for and expected. Some of the online comments were a bit harsh, we decided to ignore them and see for ourselves; we're glad we did.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the metro and all of Old Montreal. The location was great. Parking was located about 2 blocks away from the hotel. The walls were thin and I could hear my neighbors most of the night. The hotel was located on a busier street and made it difficult to sleep late in the morning.

“Loved how the Hotel was right on st. Catherine's street and near EVERYTHING! and if it wasn't close to where you wanted to go, the Metro, subway, was a black away. Also it was pretty much a 5-10 min walk away from the greyhound station and Club Soda, the venue that the concert was being held. The staff was so nice, knowledgeable about the city, and did what ever she could to make us enjoy our stay. It was, to say the least, an Awesome experience.” Tony, Ottawa |
