Location location location
Thin walls, could hear the couple in the next room get busy
The position is good ,quiet and very convenient to the old town
Rooms were very tiny and the ones at the rear are extremely dark
the situation on the town
the room is litle and also the bed
Location. Room was small but clean.
AC poor mediocre 10 dollar breakfast becomes 16 dollar with automatic tip and taxes!
Staff were friendly. Good location to Old Montreal.
We had to upgrade to the suite, which was very expensive. Bed was small for 2 people; couches were very old and not clean or comfortable. Telephone didn't work and no plug for tub. Were told not to use tub as the overflow didn't work properly. Could smell food from kitchen all day and night.
Location was close to Old Town.
Couldn't open the window for some fresh air! Breakfast was not included.
the location is spectacularly good. Right in Vieux Montreal and close to the Metro. The style is small town France and reminded us of little places we have stayed in the south of France. Bed was comfortable.
No elevator and steep stairs make getting luggage to the room difficult. Room was very small. A full sized bed filled it. Breakfast not included.
Location and lobby.
Rooms are small. They will try to charge you for a better room or for keeping your luggage after your check out.
It was right on the eastern edge of old Montreal.
Close to the concert we were attending and easily found .
There was hair from previous guest in our bathroom sink and all over the floor. The people beside us screamed, banged, yelled and played music till 530 in the morning and with it being such a tiny hotel you could hear everything through the paper thin walls .
Smell overall feeling of dumpiness and stuffiness size of room lack of cleanliness very different from what you see online!!!!! Beware!
bathroom was not clean
Cobwebs from ceiling. View from bedroom window of a wall. Very dark and dingy room. Bathroom was the only bright spot in the suite! Room felt claustrophobic due to the smallness. Could use a brighter update. Floors squeaked.
The lobby was very nice which was deceiving as the rooms were not great at all. The rooms are far too small and need to be updated.. The rooms were at least clean.
The rooms are extremely small, old and outdated. No amenities at all...twin bed, with a broken dresser, 13" old tv, toilet and shower. Went to the cafe, very limited menu, got a glass of house wine $15 they charge a 3 service charge to order a glass.
It was quiet, our room had a nice view, the sheets were clean. It was a short walk to the old port where we saw a show. Lots of nightlife closeby.
The room had one plug, a broken tv, no radio or clock, the bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine, there was a huge spiderweb (thank goodness unoccupied) behind the bathroom door, the paint job and decor were uninspired, no closet and crooked floor.
The staff were very accommodating. It felt like home.
Small independent hotel in historic area
My wife's bed was worn out. You would be well served to capitalize on what charm the hotel has due to location and age of the building by hiring a decorator.
Near to old Montreal shops and restaurants.
Staff made minimal effort to direct us to sightseeing. We got more info from strangers on the street. Rooms small with no conveniences and hotel had a stale smell.
the room was horrible, very small TV from 1970, didn't work, shower terrible, food especially breakfast awful,
It was a quaint place to stay, clean, good price, close to everything. Comfortable bed. I'd stay here again.
I liked the location, very good price, comfortable, clean. Staff are very friendly and the place is quiet which is good.
The owners of Hotel Champ de Mars were so very kind! Their personal care and attention to detail is something you just don't find at big chain hotels. I highly recommend this charming hotel!
Being down in Old Montreal near historic Dalhousie and Viger Stations was great and the hotel was located in a quiet part of town.
The shower produces a dribble. The water saver is a bit over effective! The television took a while to figure out how it works and there were no instructions in the room to assist one in the process.
