Breakfast took a very long time
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room on second and subsequent nights was excellent.
Rooms on west side of hotel above the smoking patio are to be avoided.
Clean, comfortable room Breakfast was included. Food was good. The Viscount Gort has one of the best Sunday brunch (quality of food at a reasonable price, in a pleasant eating area) in the city.
My on-line booking said room included a sofa. It didn't. Just an armchair and ottoman. Not a big deal but not as described. Would have appreciated having a water cooler and cups in pool area, as sitting in the Jacuzzi makes a person dehydrated.
Close to Polo Park....we were on aa shopping binge!
The price increase when we checked out. Our on line booking said 3 children 2 adults, we corrected this at check in to 4 adults and didn't learn of the price increase until we checked out.
While staying at this Hotel, The First Day I had a Shower and the showered leaked so bad it flooded the bathroom, then the next day when I turned the shower on it was spewing brown water. The first night I barely slept because the bed was terrible. Second Night I decided to Change Beds and when I lifted the sheets to the Second bed(that we never touched) there was hair all under the sheets! It was disgusting.... We also Decided to go to the Buffet on sunday morning and never really was told the price or anything.. I barely ate as it was more of a brunch Buffett so it didnt have much for breakfast things and when we went to pay it was $85 for 4 of us to have the Buffet, as far as im Concerned that is ridiculous for breakfast!
Cleanliness, Attractive modern lobby & bar, restaurant classy & nice view with big windows, loved the pool, hot tub & slide area, very clean. Our room was modern & comfortable. pleasant staff.
Asked to look at another room & told we probably would not be as happy there as the room we were assigned. Looked anyway & found it wasn't as updated and was small so guess some rooms not as nice or refurbished.
Great if you are busy in st James area. 30 mins to anywhere.
Wi fi sucked
Clean room, nice little kitchen with fridge, microwave & coffee maker, recycle bin in the room, very spacious. Awesome water slide, great food in the restaurant & at the bar on the main floor. Great helpful staff who are willing to answer questions and go above and beyond what is required of them. Fun slot machines in the bar as well.
The elevators weren't working when we initially arrived and our room was on the third floor. They did get one up and running though, which was nice.
Staff very friendly and helpful Rooms very comfortable Location good Restaurant and Lounge excellent
Hall Carpets worn No view from window Wifi poor
Comfortable beds Good facilities
WiFi did not work for 2 days
Best thing was the location. Handy to everything we wanted to do. Really liked the pool area.
A very convenient location, a quiet hotel with a nice family-friendly pool and water slide.
A little dated, on previous visits we found the restaurant over-priced. No continental breakfast.
On arriving at Winnipeg Airport, I was able to access the free shuttle back to the hotel - the young driver was very pleasant and keen to tell me about the city. The hotel staff were very polite and most helpful. The hotel is located only a short walk from Polo Park shopping centre - a pleasant way to spend a few hours! The room rate included complimentary breakfast which was lovely. Though not using the pool area, it was a great set-up!
The room, though huge, was in need of an update - furnishings were tired looking. The hotel was obviously once a smoking institution and the smell was clearly there, especially in the hallways.
We really liked the location. Everything shopping, restaurants and entertainment where all within walking distance. Room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. My wife especially liked the pillows.
We were there several days. One of the days the room was not cleaned thoroughly
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location to Polo Park shopping mall was very convenient. I have stayed there before and would definitely stay there again.
Lobby was nice & spacious & front desk was friendly. Rooms were cleaned good & cleaning staff was friendly too. Pool was great with the slide for the kids. Food was great in restaurant! Beds were soft & comfortable. Good stay in all. Lots of parking too.
Hotel resturant was understaffed 4 dinner with the group of hockey kids there. Had to wait an HOUR for our dinner, and the server was unpleasant too. There were 7 of us @ the table and we were given only 2 menues. They should of planned better knowing there were going to be lots of people there @ 1 time.
The rooms are warm & inviting! I often stay here because it is so close to shopping & many other interesting things.
I felt it was a little too expensive.
The headline says it almost it all. When I first arrived the receptionist was friendly and able to answer all my questions and was very helpful. The meal I had at the hotel restaurant was excellent and the portions, for me, were just right. The staff was also very friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. It was also quiet despite the fact that the there was a flight path into the airport close by. There is a shopping centre and other restaurants that are within a few minutes walk.
Due to the nature of my trip I didn't find the transit convenient to get to the destination I wanted to.
The rate was excellent.
Hard to get to from Portage Avenue.
Staff is very friendly. Restaurant is excellent. Rooms are clean and modern. Location is good when wanting bus access downtown.
The only bit of a pain is getting out of the hotel to head west.
Food in the sports bar was very good for the price! Staff tried to be very helpful re: transportation (very awful taxi system in Winnipeg!) No complaints!
The pool was a favorite for the kids they had a blast. French toast was real good Also left a few items behind and they were return to us. Except kids purse all money inside was gone. Only 11 dollars but come on it was a kids purse.
I order classic breakfast and menus says something like 3eggs bacon sausage and choice of toast. But only got 2 eggs and only bacon.
