We were expecting more of a hotel experience, but this place felt more like a hostel, which was disappointing. The biggest problem for us was that there is no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby and near the downstairs balcony. This was written in the hotel's description, so it's my fault for not noticing that, but I just wanted to point out that you won't get wifi in your room.
Other than that, nothing was *terrible*, but there were just so many little corners cut that made the place feel cheap. Instead of normal soap in the shower, there was a pump of hand soap from Dollarama. There was no facial tissue in the bathroom and there were only two bath towels and one hand towel, which is less than I'm used to in a hotel. The only towel rack was installed where the towels drag on the toilet. The only place to hang clothes was installed where they drag on the mini fridge. The mini fridge was barely cold when we arrived, but it froze our drinks when we tried to lower the temperature. The carpet throughout the building seemed old and grimy, and the walk up to our room (no elevator) involved winding hallways and three flights of stairs. All in all, it was not the value that we expected.
The redeeming factors of this place for us were the very friendly and pleasant staff and the very convenient location right by Berri-UQAM metro station. The two people we saw at the reception were both very kind and helpful. If you don't mind more of a hostel environment and don't need wifi in your room, this place would not be such a bad choice.
