Score from 43 reviews Excellent
The hotel was really nice and spacious, looks really professional, staff at the reception was nice and friendly, but needs to explain things to new customers about certain things.
The one thing that Rush/Rushes restaurant needs is a more variety of the breakfast, they had a buffet style breakfast and the food wasn't too hot, luke warm to say the least. And not choice of meats either, just the one and that was Bacon On another note, I don't think you should pay for Orange Juice, as that's part of breakfast too, as this should be included. The staff there weren't too helpful, or cheerful either, they need to be a bit more upbeat with customers.
A little pricey
The hotel is located close to restaurants and convenient to downtown and the Universities area. Restaurant was great and very well appointed. Hotel needs some upgrading, but the room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. Great stay for the price. Would stay there again
No big dislikes. Just needs to upgrade a bit
We felt the prices were high for the food we received. Ice water was brought initially, but no one came around again to refill, even when one glass sat empty for ten minutes. Obviously we weren't the only ones disappointed, for the place was not busy. Only one other couple besides ourselves, having lunch. Although I would recommend the Hotel which we were pleased with, but plan to eat elsewhere.
Very clean and quiet. Good sized room with balcony. Breakfast bar was very good and lots of selection.
Mattress and pillows uncomfortable. no towels at pool as stated in room-none brought at request-had to use room towels then none left for shower. Fridge in room was not cold-needed to store meat from market
Exceptional service at the front desk - and in the restaurant. Bright and friendly reception area and a nice quiet room. The business office was very handy to the other facilities and the workshop rooms were nicely equipped. The banquet was spectacular (and I have had many such meals).
I actually liked everything and would stay with this facility again if in Waterloo
Room was clean and well appointed.
Price a little high for the location.
The food at Rushes and in the bar was excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Staff was friendly and professional. Convenient location. Lots of parking space. Bed is comfortable.
Bath tub quite dated and wobbly.
Great beds, comfy
Needs new carpeting in rooms & some refreshing. Looking tired for a nice hotel.
The ambiance of the pool area and the garden.
-The 2nd floor hallway near the elevators littered with tired- looking furniture is an eye- sore. -I found the bathroom in my room old and ugly. - On the whole I will rate my room as unremarkable.
Great brunch in dining room.lobby/reception area very pl easant.
Rooms are dingy, bathroom shower curtain dirty, sheet hsd a tear in it. Towels rough.bar/lounge not appealing for light meal. Hallway upsrairs to rooms crowded with chairs looked like sad funeral parlor.
This place suited all our needs. The staff are exceptionally friendly and professional. Next trip we plan to take our dog with us. the charge is $15 per night which will make our stay even better.
Could put a safe in the room.
Ice machine & pool
Hotel needs updating & appeared almost empty for hotel guests.
Property appears tired Vending machine out of order One vending machine for entire building Insufficient signage
Everything met our needs. Price/Value very good. Friendly staff.
Noisy heater. Temperature not controlled by a thermostat
Comfy beds, nice thick large towels, coffee maker, good value for money. Only here to sleep so no chance to try out restaurant or facilities although hot tub/ swimming pool looked nice.
Couldn't sign into wi fi, a little dated
We appreciated the quiet especially at night and attributed it to the location, close to everything without being in the center of it. Being able to jump into the pool after our long drive was a highlight for the kids. Free wi-fi is something all hotels should offer.
It looks as though the bathroom went through recent renovations but they aren't quite complete. The tub spigot was a good 1" from the wall, exposing the copper piping. The bedding was very lumpy. There was hair in the sink and a piece of garbage in the trash can. It was late when we checked in and were too tired to do anything but if we stayed there again, I would definitely contact the desk about things.
Location near malls and restaurants ,also close to tourist attractions in the area
The person checking us in was very disinterested when asked information about nearby restaurants -she pointed to a map at end of desk and did not offer any information, we were alone checking in
All very good.
The restaurant is outstanding, if a bit pricey.
Wifi never worked on my laptop. The room wasn't as clean as I expected: trash in the bin when I arrived.
We enjoyed our stay and how convenient the hotel was to our destination, Wilfred Laurier University for a piano recital. The accommodations were excellent. The bedding felt like we were sleeping on a cloud.
Location was convenient as we visited University of Waterloo and explored "uptown Waterloo (shopping)!. With the inclement weather, we enjoyed the Shuttle service and the professional drivers!
