close to where my medical appointment was.
internet was a problem to stay connected. had to leave the windows open to help cool the room we had. No Air Conditioning so we heard lots of construction noise and late night party goers walking back to their rooms/dorms.
The very wide suite room, the very big and comfortable bed and the park
I would prefer to stay more time !
We chose this location as a member of our family was having surgery at UBC hospital and it was and ideal location. Will definitely use it again for follow up.
location is wonderful for those visiting UBC
Very clean. Liked full suite and sliding door.
Too warm and room too close to bus traffic and noise to open windows. Hard to find way through campus in dark when unfamiliar with area. desk Staff a little slow at times.
Nice large suite with comfy furniture.
No air conditioning and weather was unusually hot. Left window open (no screen), which increased noise level.
The suite was comfortable and good if attending a meeting on campus but was not close to Vancouver centre. The campus is nice but for those wishing to visit the city it might be a bit far out.
The accommodation was a bit noisy with the bus station being across the road. The room service was okay but could have been for the cost of the room.
Convenient to UBC school tour.
Located right across from noisy bus terminal and busy road. Paying for a five-star hotel with two-star conveniences. Service was virtually non-existent.
Large rooms with lots of space.
West Coast Suites are in a great location on the campus of UBC.
Let's get serious, West Coast Suites are more like old dorm rooms from the 60's. This facility is starting to get tired. The couch in the room was very frayed and when I complained I was just given a "look." I asked for the email address of the manager and was given an incorrect address. Additionally, the bathroom had a smell of must. The beds are nice but our room was directly over the parking lot, which was noisy. The base rent, of over $200 per night, is expensive plus there is a 13% tax. Unfortunately, there are no other options, nearby.
-convenient to our son's sporting event at UBC -well equipped kitchenette; perfect for breakfast & snacks -king bed very comfortable -updated!
-uncomfortable sofa bed; both the 20something who travelled with us last year and the grandmother who joined us this year slept poorly -large rips on sofa bed
no air conditioning
having a kitchen was great. TV a little small compared to what is provided in hotels/suites of equal price.
Not that easy to find without gps. Suggest providing a more detailed map &/or driving directions on website. A little far from downtown.
nice room. confortable bed
leather couch was worn and needs replacing
Front desk staff was helpful when we asked for restaurant suggestions, even printing out directions. Comfy bed, thick towels.
Wi-Fi was a bit unpredictable, pull-out sofa bed was pretty creaky, but serviceable.
Close to the Museum of Anthropology.
We are not familiar with the area and that might be partly our fault, but there was no place to it that we could find except McDonald and A&W and some Pizza place that was not that great. It is quite out of the way of everything, but probably perfect for students.
If you want to be away, but nearby the city, this is an excellent choice. Campus area and feel. Size and space of suites.
Particular suite had torn furniture (sofa) and worn walls. Small bathroom. Wi-Fi was reliable, but does not allow for video/internet calling.
Location is fantastic; we always felt safe and the building is very secure; felt like being in an apartment and having a balcony that we could keep open was very nice. Parking is available right outside the door and very convenient. Cost is $9.00 per day which is big savings from having to drive around campus, find parking and pay the outrageous hourly rates. Bathroom shower was excellent - nice touch providing shower gel and shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Always had ample towels and housekeeping was always very polite and sensitive to our needs if we were in the room working. The bed mattress appeared to be brand new and it was nice and firm. Probably the best bed I've slept in at any accommodations this year.
The refrigerator is sub par and awful. We could never get it very cold and it has no freezer to make ice - and there are no ice machines on the property. For a facility with kitchen amenities, this was a very serious problem. Rooms on the south side cannot leave the windows open without being woken up by the sound of the buses in the morning - the bus turn around for the college is directly across the street. One night there was very loud students in the parking lot or in other rooms that were loud until about 3:00 a.m. There is nothing/no staff to call upon to get that shut down. You just have to deal with it.
It was very comfortable and clean. Also very quiet. Staff very helpful and cheerful. The location was ideal.
room design and amenities
slow internet laundry card process
Long wait to check in and out, smell of garbage in the elevator
Location was good. We attended convocation .
As I was visiting UBC it is perfect place to locate, but as so close to buses to central area it is easy to get to other places as well as Downtown Vancouver.
location is wonderful
sofa was well worn but comfy none-the-less.
