away from noisy city, surrounding by greens. The suite is spacious, clean, simple, very quiet. I could rest and sleep well.
The room was first rate and the front desk and cleaning staff were all very helpful, pleasant, and competent.
It took a while for the hotel front desk staff to show up at the counter when we needed service. Although it wasn't our first priority, a whirlpool or sauna for guest use would have been nice.
The suite was much bigger than I expected. The location was great for what we needed, which was close to the Thunderbird Sports Center. It was very quiet and peaceful (I don't know if we had any neighbors in the adjoining suites, we certainly did not hear any). It is not a posh 5 star hotel, but it is very comfortable. There are also plenty of buses that stop in the campus, so you don't have to drive downtown.
Only complaint is with the sofa. Someone had abused it, the pleather covering was obviously damaged. It should be replaced since it ruins the look of the room.
Location wasn't a primary concern
Lack of clear dining options
surroundings and quiet
Couldn't find any dislikes...
You can't ask for a better location when wanting to stay near UBC, as you're actually on campus. Also, it's a nice suite with good in-room kitchen facilities. Nice and clean.
Not a lot of amenities, as expected. Not much of a view. If you're not traveling to be at UBC, there's not much of a reason to stay there. Though it's certainly cheaper than downtown Vancouver.
This is an excellent location to stay if you are visiting a student living on campus. It is great because they can come for a nice home cooked meal and just chill with mum.
We have been staying here often over the past 6 years as our 3 children have all gone to UBC. The sofa's are now well past their best before dates and are in need of replacing.
It was so easy to get around, we were attending our son's convocation. Facilities were really close for food and the bus stop was right across the street.
layout was nice - open well equipped kitchen but needed paper towels for quick clean-up
check- in in a different building - parking was away from check -in and outside - nasty in BC rain!!
Location to the wedding at the golf course Cleanliness Comfort of the King bed , the pullout not so much Watching the three raccoons on their night prowl and dumpster diving
A little noise in late evening with windows open - but not a problem.
Awesome stay. Had a course at the UBC pool and it was great to be so close. Suite was awesome and the location ( area) had pretty much all I needed for food and incidentals.
Ha ha maybe I'm just getting old but I found the signage for the checkin office hard to find. Once I located the first one it was easier. Expected more of a hotel look rather than the campus look.
Great room with a perfect small kitchen which allowed us to eat breakfast and store food while visiting my daughter at UBC
great bed and kitchenette perfect location on campus very spacious
poor sound proofing-very noisy re overlooking UBC bus depot had to sign back into an unsecure visitor UBC internet every time I opened computer parking expensive considering lack of other facilities worn furniture in living room
I liked the location as we were visiting our daughter who is living on campus
the sofa was ready for the junk yard
Very convenient clean suit with kitchen facilities.
The reception was in another building, we had hard time to find the reception and the entrance door was close. There was not any sign to help finding the direction.
Convenient location, since I was writing a test on campus early the next morning. The mattress is firm, which I prefer but others may not. I asked for a quiet room and the one they gave was fairly quiet, with just a little bit of noise from students outside the window. I would recommend it if you have things to do on campus.
Some other guests were quite loud in the hallway, and I could hear chairs scraping across the floor in the other rooms. So it's not that soundproof.
spacious room, close to Cecil Green Park House where we were attending a wedding, eating places within walking distance
-been to UBC before and was disappointed to see how much litter was lining the streets
My fourth stay and I note that the couches in all rooms were worn and tattered.
Convenience of location quiet location
Was not told that I would I have to pay for parking
The Wi-Fi connection was awful
If you would like to stay in campus, it is the place. Bus to downtown is convenient.
Right on campus, spacious room.
A bit remote from city center, only convenient if you have a car, nearby cafes don't open early on weekends.
Close to UBC hospital for required surgery
No break in price for required surgery
Great location, walking distance to everything. Bus loop across the street, also the Student Union & recreation centers.
WiFi was slow to none. Everytime it bottomed out (or you turned your device off) required a new logon.
