Overlooking Neuchatel's rooftops or Lake Neuchatel, Hotel Alpes & Lac is across from the Main Train Station. It offers comfortable rooms, free Wi-Fi and there is free parking available nearby.
Score from 274 reviews Very good
The hotel is in the heart of Neuchâtel, right on the banks of Lake Neuchâtel, and offers views of the harbor. The hotel is only a 2-minute walk from the historic center.
Score from 234 reviews Good
Only 200 metres from the lake and close to Neuchâtel's centre and the funicular (taking you to the railway station in 3 minutes), the Hotel des Arts is a convenient place to stay.
Score from 423 reviews Good
The restaurant & Hotel is in Avenches, 980 ft from the Lake of Morat.

Close to Lakes beautiful scenery, but motorway travel cuts out all the best part of the scenery! .
No where to get a meal late evening. Did not find any take away meal places. No meals at ibis except breakfast (which was expensive-did not have!) Plus spirit drinks way over priced 20 Euro for a scotch & coke (and the coke was flat) !!!
Friendly staff. Cleanliness good. Bed very comfortable.
The breakfast was perfect.
Every thing good in General
The value for Money is missing. For a cheap prepared breakfast and High Price for the Basic Room i paid to much (over 20 years experience in international travel)
The room, staff and breakfast
Room size, comfortable bed, undisturbed sleep.
Extractor in windowless toilet and windowless bathroom not working. No carpet or floor covering in hallway - just old hard adhesive. Both of these issues are unacceptable, and the manager was fairly unconcerned and dismissive. No advance notice of the carpet replacement works - yet full price charged for the room. Manager tried to explain away the failed extractor system, by saying the strength of suction varied according to the time of day. Rubbish! The system was simply not working, at any time during our stay. A receptionist confirmed the system was non functional everywhere in the hotel, and had been for the past 5 years - although I think she may have meant to say 5 months. I was communicating in English, not French. Didn't like the attitude of either receptionist or manager. Both needed to display much better customer care. I wouldn't stay here again.
normal clean chain hotal
far from downtown
Location. Personnel is kind and available to solve the problems, but structural problems overwhelm them. Breakfast is in the Ibis standard (a bit lower in chice), but more expensive than in other Ibis around the world.
Heating is very poor and in winter you will surely freeze in the rooms. All the Hotel is equipped with "undersized" electrical heaters. Sewage is not working properly and in the WC you had bad smells. This the most expensive Ibis I have ever been and by far the least quality.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast timings, from 06:30 till noon. Wide choice of breakfast items. The room was a decent size, and the views were reasonable. There was a lovely river just a short walk away (east), and walking along the bank (south) for 10 minutes brings you to a lovely old lattice girder bridge where the railway crosses the river, there's a small station (Zihlbrucke) from where trains to Neuchatel were fast and frequent.
Horrifically expensive taxi to get there - from Neuchatel station (where the express from Geneva stopped), a distance of only five miles (8km), it cost the equivalent of 40 UK pounds. More information on nearby railway stations (turned out there were two local ones within walking distance) would have been handy.
