Adagio Basel City  

Excellent location , price wise, calm and so near to downtwon

We love this place, despite having some difficulty finding it at first. The studio suite we had was clean and comfortable. The kitchen facilities gave us the flexibility of having our hot drinks and meals in the room. Place is near the tram stop and there is a supermarket, bakeries and restaurants nearby. Very good value. note: if traveling in from the main railway station (Basel SBB), take tram #8 to Claraplatz, then switch to tram #6 and stop next stop at Clarastrasse. The hotel is on the right as you approach the Hammerstrasse junction.

As we were there in summer, it can be a bit warm. The airconditioner temperature could not be adjusted to a lower temperature than what we would have liked it to be. We understand this is due to environmental rules.

Public transport (trams) very accessible from the hotel. Short tram ride to the main train station. Very near various dining and shopping areas as well as museums. Terrific space planning for the studio apartment; amenities well thought-out; highly functional and convenient.

Wifi not available in the room. Lighting inadequate for bedside reading. Insufficient number of English TV channels (please add CNN, weather channel, other sports channels).

Large rooms with excellent en-suite and kitchen facilities for a price similar to traditional styled hotels. The rooms are relatively new and nicely furnished. The apartments are designed for medium to long term residence, but actually perfect for staying the one night, you get all the benefits without having to make the bed.

It's nice to be able to cook a simple meal or prepare a snack in the kitchen, and the chance to make a decent cup of tea is great,

It can get very hot in summer.

Good position, kind staff, confortable and clean rooms. Availability of a parking inside, wide enough for any kind of car.

I like the apartment feeling and the well equipped rooms (ironing board), kitchen, water heater and the possibility to prepare meals. I also like the vicinity to the middle of the city and the grocery stores. Parking is also good.

I didn't like the mattress. The bed was too small and there was a ditch in the middle, pretty uncomfortable.

My friend and I were very satisfied with our accommodation at the Adagio Basel City. It was was very comfortable and we were impressed with the domestic equipment supplied. We did have a little dificulty working the dish-washer. An instruction manual in English would have been useful.

The apartment was well designed, with an excellent bath/shower, kitchenette with coffee percolator and water boiler and full refrigerator, Murphy bed (very comfortable)/sofa, a couple of chairs, vaccuum, iron/ironing board, two closets, a desk, bookshelves and space to stretch out. The room was well lit, and I felt more secure with the sliding latch inside the door, to complement the electronic card system. The reception staff was polite and efficient. I brought my own fruit and coffee for breakfast and was satisfied. Plenty of towels and bath gel/lotion as well. Modern, immaculate, I would gladly visit again. Well worth the money, if you like more space and the flexibility of the kitchenette (store around the corner) in the Messe (conference) area of Basel.

A couple of helpful improvements would be free wi-fi in the room (this is becoming standard) and a few sachets of coffee/tea in the kitchenette. Perhaps a little dining table.

Good space in the suites - main reason for us staying here. Full kitchenette, and double bedroom. Lounge had sofa bed so great for family & young kids. Used free "mobility" cards to get around town - using tram/bus. Did you have breakfast so can't comment.
