Airport Hotel Basel  

Had previous stays and always very pleasant for our purpose of being close to the casino. Breakfast great.

The hotel rooms were lovely and very clean. Friendly and helpful reception staff. It was close to the venue of conference I was attending at UPK. Good to have free use of the business centre for internet access.

Extremely expensive for drinks at the bar and also quite expensive for breakfast considering amount paid for bedrooms. There was a large number from our organisation staying at the hotel(14 in total) and one had to cancel last minute and I was disappointed that we were still charged for the room despite the business we brought to the hotel for the entire weekend. I would not recommend this hotel if staying here on holidays as there are other hotels nearer to city centre. Suitable for business travel.

The parking was free, good value for money, free internet, and although no breakfast was included, we received a croissant with orange juice and coffee. Very good hotel!

We were to leave on a Viking Cruise up the Rhine River to Amsterdam. We got in two days early so that we could enjoy Basel, and be well rested for our trip. The Hotel was just great, including free transportation on the city bus and then our shuttle ride to the pier to catch our boat. The boat had moved so that we could not find it but your driver was very patient and made some phone calls and located it for us.

I represent several stateside hotels (I am an attorney) and your hotel was just great - I knew I was the guest and that you were there for my needs. That is important - On our next trip to Switzerland we will again stay at the Airport Hotel. We have some family in Zurich and travel to the area a lot.

It was a really new and comfortable hotel! We need its location, as we had an early morning flight! And it was very nice that we've also got some entertainment there (I'm talking about Casino). We liked our staying in this hotel, even it was very short!

The service is excellent, the room is a well designed budget product but with a much higher level of comfort than you might expect.

The food in the hotel and the adjacent casino is truly dreadful. There is nothing else within walking distance but they do offer to bring in a take-away. If you are in a group, then the take away service charge is ok but if you are on your own, it is quite hefty. I suggest using the (free) airport bus into town. There is a boring looking chinese but with well prepared food two stops away from the hotel.

The restaurant staff were exceptional. Very good evening meal there.

Very friendly welcome from staff who remembered my name on the morning after my arrival. Excellent place for travellers from Basel airport. Given the very high cost of life in Switzerland, the free travel pass was a good incentive to go and explore the city.

I think the solo traveller might like a little more direction in where to eat while the restaurant is out of commission; the snack bar in the casino was nearly overwhelmed by the fruit machines, and not a great place for non-punters (though the staff were very kind).
