Located in the centre of Bellinzona, Hotel Gamper offers simply furnished rooms with a TV. The on-site restaurant serves Italian cuisine and different types of pizza.

The Place is close to the City centre.
We felt turned back into the fifties, in a bad sense: the room was so small that we had difficulties to store our 1 piece of luggage therein, very old furnitures, it smelled badly, the bathroom needed to be shared with 10 rooms (2 showers, 1 wc), and the showers did work properly. Definitely not a place to recommend.
Cheap, good location, free parking
Little sound insulation from noise in corridor and other rooms. Need to phone manager on arrival for checkin
The Albergo has the charme of an old and authentic place to stay as it was 30 years ago in our family vacations in the mountains. No extras unneeded, no renovation destroying the original atmosphere.
The restaurant was closed because of vacation of the servants.
Not very friendly
Unable to rate as locked when a arrived telephone number on door didn't answer.
Location. Free WiFi internet.
Swiss price for Greek standart. Heavily overpriced for offered standart. Small bathroom. Showercabin nearly in pieces. Broken handles for towels. Small room. Difficult to close window ( room 11 ). Poor lighting. Plain key to the room which we belive could open all of them. Entrance with use a narrow metal stairs which was very unconvenient. Entrance door very poor and will probably open with just a little push while closed. Zero safety. No reception - a coming quest have to call to get somebody come ( calls in Switzerland are 3 times so expensive as in EU ). Italian style breakfast e.g. mainly sweet things plus hard boiled eggs and melted cheese.
the flexibility of the staff to upgrade us to a room with shower inside
the toilets in the corridor. This was our fault because we didn't read the room description in detail
Location near train station and old city and castle.
Old furnitures, staff only speak Italian(I don't), when I arrived at check in time, no one on reception, I had to call someone who spoke only Italian to tell her I was there. She arrived 10 minutes later by car. Poor breakfast.
Excellent value for money
The location was ok. We liked that they had free parking.
We arrived to a note posted on the door that said to call a number for service. The person who answered the phone said that our room key was put in a box outside the parking area. We arrived to our room and the bathroom was dirty; trash not emptied; and the beds still had hair in them. Needless to say that one of our sons refused to sleep in the room and slept in the vehicle. The free breakfast that they advertise was not what we received. The breakfast consists of orange juice (limited), coffee and bread. The owner was nowhere to be found and we asked to speak to the manager. No one was available. The woman that serviced our breakfast was the first individual that we saw from this hotel and she copied my complaints to the owner. She still charged us for the accommodations. I would have asked for a refund and suggest that no one stay here again. I think you should have someone go check out this property; you will be disappointed that you have it on your website.
The hotel was located in a central location within easy walking distance of downtown areas. The furnishings were adequate, and reasonable for the price in that area.
The hotel is a converted house with the kitchen in the back of the house and the restaurant in the front of the house adding traffic between the two. Breakfast was coffee and bread with butter and jellies. The staff were leaving at about 2 PM as we arrived to check in. The restaurant was not open in the evenings.
Very nice and helpfull staff Nice location clean room
quite noisy (old doors and keys)
Nice, clean place, very small rooms but everything you need is there. Good value for money as Bellinzona is extremely expensive, doesn't have much options to choose from; and the location was central, close to everywhere. It was nice of them that they waited for us when we were a bit late for breakfast (came down at 9:55).
The staff doesn't speak English, luckily my friend is Italian so that it wasn't a problem for us. The place was closed almost every time we came - afternoon, evening, night. But we didn't really need anybody's help, so it was OK. Wi-Fi in the rooms was very slow, the signal was much better in the restaurant downstairs.
Even though it's not a top end hotel, and I have been to a handful of more expensive ones, I actually quite like this hotel. It felt like home. And I like the coffee they served during breakfast.
What I liked more it's a view from our window - we could see one of the castles and a church, it was very beautiful, especially in the evening, when the buildings were illuminated. We also liked location of the hotel very much - it was very near from the railway station.
What we didn't like there wasn't enough warm in our room. It wasn't cold, but if it's warmer, it'd be good.
