Hotel Alexandra  

The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. The room is really comfortable and spacious, and the breakfast is awesome. I love this hotel very much and also this beautiful lakeside city :) would definitely come back in summer!

The wall is not thick, so you can hear others talking and sounds of TVs in their rooms at night.

Beautiful villa from the early 20s which retains some of its original features, our room was nice and with a lovely balcony facing the street. Very quiet on the whole but mind you we went in January! A bit cold in the room at night due to very high ceilings but we were given an electric heater. Personnel were very kind and helpful, a good continental breakfast included and we used the garage too. Walking distance to the centre of Locarno but you are not on the lake!

The staff was excellent, the room was cozy and clean with a wonderful view of the lake. Even though there is no elevator in the hotel, the nice receptionist took our suitcase and carried it three floors up like it was nothing.

Didn't like the position of the bedside table light switch. Reaching over to switch the light of resulted in my knocking the lamp over which crashed to the floor. I reported this and paid the fee for breakage.

The guy at the reception was extremely kind. He was also serving the breakfast. He even allowed us to choose a room among the available ones.

The bathroom is a bit small but it was not something we could not live with.

Attentiveness of staff, particularly the male receptionist, who also served breakfast. This was one of the finest examples of such service I have ever encountered in any hotel.The breakfast was also outstanding. The hotel did a brilliant job of providing an enjoyable one night stop- off place on our drive to Italy. Good view of lake from room.

Some noise, but this is easily offset by the price. Value is indicated as 'fair', but that is only because the Lakes are very expensive. Compared to other hotels in the area, this one offers excellent value.

This hotel is really close to Locarno downtown. It's a little bit old fashioned but not abandoned. Reception is closed at night but for any urgency they give you a phone number to call; anyway, with the keys they give you, you can open also the hotel door. Nice to have the garage available. Breakfast enough, don't expect plenty of things. Not for those who are looking for modernity, design, high comfort, quick wireless connections and so on .... Good value for price.

Nice hotel with a convenient car parking garage. We borrowed bicycles from the hotel, outstanding quality!

Our room was on the second floor, no lift - but not a big problem.

Very clean and pretty room complete with everything expected in a hotel room when you change cities everyday. It was comfortable and welcoming, we wanted to spend some time in the room. Price reasonable, especially including a breakfast with good coffee. Staff member who was present the whole time was very sympathetic and helpful to orient us in the town.
