Excellent service provided by both the reception staff, and their colleagues in the bar. Very close to the old town, with a potential of a great view from the room. We were a group, and were using 2 rooms, and did not have any issues in the rooms at all. As part of the buildning is under construction, I would highly recommend to avoid rooms that are within this area. The Casino was not that impressive.

Wonderful location for walking down into the old town area (tram stop and taxi area right out front, too). Nice sized room and bathroom, with fully enclosed shower and 110v outlet for American razors/electric toothbrush, etc., and very comfortable beds. Our room overlooked the old town from the hillside and we even had a little balcony to step out on and admire the view. The restaurants and bar were very good, plus there was convenient parking right underneath the hotel. A bit pricier than a comparable hotel in the U.S., but then so was everything in Switzerland. Pleasantly surprised, would definitely stay again!

We really aprreciated our staying at Allegro. One of the great points were the breakfast, no doubt one of the best we got so far, including hotels in the same category. We think the wellness area could be improved, perhaps adding a small swimming pool. The existing water was not warm enough.

Very modern / updated facility. Good location to town. Didn't know there was a casino there. Don't think I would have chosen this location if I had known. Not really authentic to the town/environment we were looking for. Nice staff, though!

We really enjoyed all aspects of our stay in this beautiful hotel. What we liked best was the staff, so friendly, efficient and professional. I have marked the 'value for money' as fair but as Swiss prices go it is not bad. All good.

Location, cuisine The most prominent impression - they gave us a single blanket for two people. In addition to that we had only one set of towels. The room had a smell of insecticides and everything else was too basic fot the hotel that declairs certain level and price.

It is a nice, modern hotel with all facilities available, nearby the old city center. Receptionists are very polite and helpful, real professional. There are some beautiful rooms with no real window, just air conditioned - where you cannot see day light or breath real fresh air. It was an unpleasant surprise for me. The wireless internet is expensive and also the parking. They also do not have breakfast included in the hotel rate.

It is a modern, well appointed hotel with fabulous views from the top floor across the city and, on a clear day, to the Berner Oberland. And only a 5 minute walk to Marktgasse. Parking is quite expensive at E26/day. Also, while 90% of the hotels I stay in now worldwide have free internet, the Allegro does not. While E15 for 3 hours access via SwissCom spread over several days is not expensive, it is bothersome to have to keep logging on and logging off to avoid being charged when one is not using the service. Hopefully the Allegro will see the benefit of providing this inexpensive service to their guests free before my next visit.I stayed in Grindelwald for a few days in the same week and was interested to learn that the hotels there recently grouped together to agree to provide a free internet service to their guests instead of making them pay for SwissCom.

Location - a few minutes walk or bus/tram ride across the bridge to the old town; but quiet; Modern facilities - newly renovated rooms which are much larger than the average for Europe; beautiful views of city and Alps from outside rooms with a balcony; good breakfast; nice bar/lounge with very friendly staff Hotel renovations are continuing - so be careful to ask for a room as far away from construction as possible

The bedroom was large, modern and clean and had a balcony.the staff was very helpful, and eager to please.the hotel itself was just across the bridge from the old town and trams stopped right in front.excellent value for the money...if you book on the weekend as the rates are 30-40% less than during the work week. The lack of A.C. was a serious problem.had to sleep with the balcony doors wide open all night.many others complaining about this problem at the front desk.

Atrium room was very small. It's offered as room for two person but there was one towel, one pillow and so on. At all requests to bring towel and pillow for a second person received only smiles and promises. As a result, we slept, using small sofa pillows. Also currently the hotel is being renovated and when you stay in the room you feel that overhead constantly flying helicopters.

The room were a/C. However, they are reconstructing the 5th floor and they try to put you in a room just on the floor under the construction where there is huge noise from 7:30 to 5pm. At more than 300 sf a day + internet + very expensive breakfast. This is ridiculous

Excellent assistance even though hotle in under major construction wherein on our last night a water leak occured as a result of the construction wherein the Management acted instantaneously to repair and move us to another room for an excellent experience.............. A lot of people in the bar with reserved tables and bar seats which prevented anyone not associated with the group to even get a drink.........
