Hotel Allegro Bern

A fine, clean hotel. Room was spacious, very nicely decorated, nice bathroom, small balcony. Good air conditioning. Four restaurants and casino in the same building. I ate twice in Restaurant Giardino and the food was delicious. Food is served until 24:00 which is great thing. Restaurant has glass wall toward the garden and big door can be opened so it became part of a terrace. Great idea. Personnel were professionals but only two were actually friendly.

High Speed Analog Internet might sound at first good, but then the word analog jumps to your eyes. Yes, they have only modem or ISDN connection which is definitely not up-to-date. Nowadays free wireless internet should be available in all hotel rooms. Hotel was also quite expensive (for example minibar prices).

The view over the Altstadt and south to the mountains - at least from the third floor or higher - is excellent. The rooms are cleanly designed and the bed comfortable. There is AC in the rooms if needed.

There was a broken ceiling lamp on the floor of the hallway which was not cleaned up despite the desk being notified. For those interested in the Casino, please be aware that it is not very "noble" by any means.

Its proximity to the centre of Bern was a real advantage.

The hotel allows smoking in all but one of its restaurants, and in the hotel lobby. This is not acceptable as many of its patrons are from the US and EU where smoking in public areas is not allowed. Moreover, it is not good practice to effectively force Front Office and waiting staff to have to work in a smoky environment.

attentive service

All of the staff were absolutely excellent and seemed very concerned to make our stay the best. It felt like very personal service for a large hotel. Also, the location was excellent. It was easy to either walk or take the tram to everything we wanted to go to. The room was quite nice with a modern decor and a lot of light.

The airconditioning would go off when we took our card out of the slot in the room when we left the room, and if we left it in, the housekeepers took it out. After complaining about this, however, the hotel reprogrammed the AC so this would not happen. It was a really great response to our concern and reflected the excellent service at the hotel.

The view is good.

We arrived at 2:30PM and the room was not ready. The door was opened at midnight by the staff while we were sleeping. Very scary!!!!!!!

clean modern room

the front desk told us we had a view of the city and alps....we had a view of the wall next door. we notified them of this error and the front desk was very rude and would not change our booking. despite the high quality facilities, the service level was awful and we would never return to this hotel.

Aussicht vom Panoramazimmer, Frühstücksbuffet, kostenloses Mineralwasser bei Ankunft, schnelles Check-in und -out

Ich habe in den Anmerkungen erwähnt, dass ich ein ruhig gelegenes Panoramazmmer möchte; beim Check-in wurde dies aber nicht berücksichtigt und prompt erhielt ich als Alleinreisender ein Panoramazimmer zur Strassenseite und zum Eingangsbereich, der nachts laut war. Nach wiederholter Intervention am nächsten Tag wurde mir dann ein tolles neues Zimmer zur ruhigen Seite zugewiesen.

Ho apprezato l'originalità dell'arredamento della camera e l'ottima posizione dell'hotel, a due passi dal centro di Berna.

Non ho gradito il prezzo assolutamente alto della prima colazione, del tutto immotivato rispetto al già elevato costo della camera.

Все очень хорошо организовано, претензий ни к чему нет. Немного устаревший фитнесс центр, сауну и интерьер в помещении, где джакузи, стоит слегка освежить
