Hotel Alpina Luzern  

3 minutes walk to railway station, very convenient. Breakfast at sister hotel is delicious and has lots of varieties. Dining room is cosy. Hotel staff are polite and friendly. Bedroom is comfortable.

Very convenient to the train station and right in the heart of downtown area. Beautiful room although street below was a little noisy with a local bar. But with the window closed it was quiet. Nice views of Pilatus.

We were moved to the Metropol hotel, which was an excellent hotel.

Short walking distance to train station, room with balcony.

Need to have breakfast in another hotel next to it, no wifi.

Reception is actually in the Hotel Monopol next door, as is breakfast. The room was spacious enough with all the usual stuff. One thing I would advice, take some ear plugs. The hotel is not noisy, but is located very near to a main road, and a church and the road sweeper at 05:30 is very annoying.

The scenery

The bathroom was bit too small.

Luzern is a place that I travel annually due to business trip and it's scenery. I enjoy the conveniency especially the train station and city tour. I would like to suggest a free Wi-Fi coverage provided to all guests, a little amount spend that pleased many. Other than Luzern, I also stay in Biel/Bienne as the rate is cheaper and much decent. The Hotel can consider offering a much cheaper rate for continuous stay. We appreciate the staff give us a renovated room after knowing we had been there for more than 5 times

I stayed with my daughter in the hotel Alpina for a week end, as I was born and grown up in Luzern , we used the Hotel Alpina for convenience to visit my relations, it was ideal. I'm sure we will use the Hotel again, and hope to stay in room 59, beautiful and clean.

Location

Street passage from reception to room.Inthe ice and slush present at that time,and as an elderly person with a mobility problem,not a good option.Also alleged malfunction of the electric doors meant a walk around the block to access my room. I suspect the doors were turned off to minimise the cold at the receptionarea!

The hotel is just across the train station, great location with barely a 5 minutes walk. Check-in in Hotel Metropol is fast and the front desk ladies were very friendly and welcoming. We had Room 59 at Hotel Alpina, newly renovated with a beautiful view from our balcony. It is also a very spacious, quiet and clean room, great for honeymoon couples and small families. Good breakfast spread at Hotel Metropol. The only shortcoming is that there is no WIFI in Hotel Alpina and we can only access the web from the hotel lobby of Hotel Metropol. River Lucern is just 5 mins walk away and Chapel Bridge 8 mins away. A good place to stay if you are travelling to Luzern for holiday.

Great breakfast

That it is a family run hotel, extra personal and extra warm service. That all the rooms have a view of the mountain is great. That it is attractively priced vs nearby hotels.

Do note the slope leading up to the hotel. Can be a legful for elderly and the pregnant.
