It should be pointed out that this B&B and the Ticino region in general is most easily accessible by car. However, there is good coverage by public transport, including at Arosio, yet takes a lot longer.
Besides, the climb up the hill to Arosio is a small road with lots of twists and turns that takes about 10 minutes (the road is in perfect condition but it is probably not the nicest road to go up and down several times a day).
The Arosio B&B is a renovated house in the heart of a small city called Arosio on the outskirts of Lugano. The owner has recently opened the residence and is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern but charming with some original touches. Although we had initially booked the standard room, we were upgraded to the suite as we were staying for three nights. This room was extremely spacious and had all the modern equipment one may come to expect in a high end hotel. The breakfast was made up of bread, croissants, homemade yoghurt from the region, ham and cheeses, cereal etc. A breakfast where everyone can find their joy.
Arosio itself is a small village on a hill - 20 minutes away by car from the center of Lugano. There are three restaurants in the village accessible by foot. We had the opportunity of having dinner in two of them. Both had a typical informal family atmosphere and served delicious food from the region.
All in all we would definitely recommend this B&B for anyone wanting to discover the Ticino region and Lugano. Moreover, it was one of the best B&B we have been to.
