Very nice hotel and very good quality/money for the room./// Incredible view with a huge terrace. It seems that most part of the rooms, if not all, have a very nice view... The restaurant is a bit expensive |

The setting in the Swiss Alps was breathtaking!!. However, locating the hotel was confusing. A car is necessary or guests have to use a bus to town. The management was not accommodating regarding an overbooking by Booking.com. No compensation rendered. |

The room was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was comprehensive and delicious. The staff were quite friendly. The setting was idyllic - great views from my balcony. The hotel is idyllic in its rural setting, but if you are relying on public transport, you will be stuck several kilometers out of the main village. There are buses from the village, but the last one is at 5.45pm, so you effectively stuck in the hotel after this. If you have your own transport you can shop around for your evening meal, but not if you are are relying on public transport. I felt it was a bit meanspirited to have a single duvet on a double bed, even though only I was staying there; only one pillow was provided, and I had to ask for another. The plug in bath didn't work and I had to ask for a replacement. There wasn't an obvious living room for guests - you were either in your room or having a meal/at the bar. |

We loved the quiet, idyllic location at the foot of the Eiger. The food was fabulous, the chef is talented and creative. The room was large for the price. There's a lovely terrace outside for meals or drinks when the weather is good. Fabulous breakfast buffet (no flies). We were very happy with the hotel and will return. Note that although there is bus transporation to Grindelwald, it's best to have your own transportation. |

The hotel was very pretty with excellent views out down into Grindelwald. Very well decorated and had a young, friendly feeling. Rooms were a really good size, very clean and bathrooms were nice. The hotel food was very pretty but was sometimes too fussy and didn't taste as good as it looked. The menu was somewhat strange and I found it difficult to choose something I thought I'd like. The curry I opted for was a blue colour and didn't taste like anything I would describe as curry. They almost try too hard to impress! There was no grumpy old lady there as other reviews had said, all staff young, proffessional and very helpful and friendly. |

We stayed in a third floor room that can accomodate up to 6 people. The room was facing the Eiger North Wall-which is a woderful view. We could not find a power outlet in the bath room so we had to use the hair dryer in the room. There is no lift, so one should be prepared to carry them up to the top of the floor by oneself (note that the lobby is at 0th floor.) The quality and service of the restaurant was excellent, which might compensate the inconvenience of the high floor. There is coin washer and dryer service in the underground. |

The setting was breath-taking. What more would you expect from a chalet nestled in the Alps. The food was excellent. The staff was very accommodating. Perfect stay for hikers and skiers. Great for families. Would definitely recommend it!! |

Right at the foot of the eiger and surrounding Alps, in the country side but not to far from the town of Grindelwald. Staff very friendly and helpful. Reccomend the purchase of a Jungfraubahn pass for the railways and cable cars, seems expensive when purchased but really pays for itself, childrens pass cheap and lasts for a year on all transport! Hotel very clean and food was amazing. They did a special chocolate fondue for the kids. Hope to go back for a winter holiday. |

Very friendly welcome. Lovely setting of hotel under the north face of the Eiger. Interesting and adventurous range of dishes on the dinner menu. Flies in the breakfast room! |

The views, the large rooms, the friendly staff, the excellent beds and duvets, the cleanliness and the fact that we could bring our dog! The flies at breakfast!!!!!!!! An easy problem to fix, really. If you go to this hot, bring a fly swatter for you -- and a few for the staff. |

Thogh salty; the food was good. Constant music all day in reception and broadcast through the dining and outside areas - below the rooms - made what shouold have been a fantastic view and quiet time...an intolerable and annoyingly unpeacful stay. |

The food was incredibly good and by far the best during my entire visit to Switzerland. The Vegetarian selections were among the best I've seen while traveling. Hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. WiFi access was only available in the public areas of the first floor. The hotel is located far from the main village, but that is also its appeal. Its as close as you can be to the Eiger. |
