Wanted a centrally located hotel and Hotel Basel fitted the bill. The bedrooms have an accent wall of vivid colour and they are very warm and homely - not bland, plain and functional like so many other hotels. Just two minutes away from the open marketplace and the shopping area and riverside walks, it is superbly situated. The staff were very friendly and helpful - and the service was with a smile, which showed the quality of people working at the hotel. I will certainly be returning to this hotel on my next visit to Basel.

I could not fault the hotel on any level.

The location is excellent.

The staff was neither particularly friendly nor helpful. The room was small and the bathroom was tiny. The price was far too high for that kind of accomodation.

location into the inner city area. The staff was very accommodating during the 2 day visit. The restaurant staff recommended an excellent meal. Having a tram pass from the hotel was a huge asset to enjoying the city sights.

We did not like the pillows on the bed. Too soft.

The location is excellent only 1 block from the Marketplatz which is great for exploring the old city of Basel. We had dinner if the restaurant 1 evening and the meal and service was great. We would definitely stay there again the next time we are in Basel.

The location is great for walking in the city. The staff is very cordial, friendly, and extremely helpful. They are willing to do anything within their ability to make your stay successful and worry-free. Your comfort is obviously important to them

I would recommend a more inexpensive breakfast option. Most people do not eat a large quantity for breakfast, making it very expensive - even though the offerings are great and of good quality.

The hotel is nicely situated in the centre of Basel with lots of opportunities to wine and dine.

The hotel is hard to find by car without navigation as roads are blocked or one-way. Best to drive directly to the nearest parking garage at Schneidergasse, some 100 meters from the hotel.

Large rooms with all you could want int them and efficient friendly staff. We highly recommend this hotel especially as it is in the old town and close to all the sights.

Thank you for letting us into our room early. We had just gotten off a long flight, and were exhausted. The chance to take a nap was appreciated. We thought the room, and eating arrangements were great. We'd stay there again anytime.

We booked this because the usual hotel we stay at in Basel (Hotel D) was fully booked. I was really pleased with the choice because it was right near the old centre, with lots of nice streets with restaurants and bars within a short walk and the hotel itself was great - really nice room, free internet and friendly staff. It was also not too expensive compared to other hotels we've stayed in in Switzerland I would absolutely go there again.

Die Kinder wurden direkt mittels kleiner Aufmerksamkeiten angesprochen (Malheft,Farbstifte, eigene farbige Duschtücher, eigene Pflegelinie, Schokolade).

Bei Ankunft wurde uns gesagt, die von uns gebuchten Zimmer seien zu klein für ein Zustellbett und wir müssten daher Fr. 70.-- pro grösseres, bereitgestelltes Zimmer dazuzahlen! Dies obwohl wir per Booking.com nach Zweierzimmern mit Zustellbett resp. 3er-Zimmern gesucht hatten, zusätzlich noch eine entsprechende schriftliche Bemerkung hinterlassen hatten und uns telefonisch nach der Reservation danach erkundigt hatten, ob nun mit den Zimmern (inkl. Zustellbett) alles i.O. sei. Dementsprechend haben wir natürlich die zusätzlichen Fr. 70.-- pro Zimmer nicht bezahlt.

Personnel attentif. Nous avions une suite junior (414) vraiment bien. Petit coin lecture très agréable. Situation centrale et tranquille.

Très bien situé pour visiter la magnifique vieille ville. Décor moderne et plaisant.

De locatie is prima, zeer centraal en dus wandelbaar.

Ook de locatie, want vanaf 04.00 u (jawel) beginnen de eerste activiteiten op de straten reeds en daar het hotel op een kruispunt van nauwe straatjes is gelegen, weerkaatst elk geluid, met name van auto's met bestellingen voor de winkeliers. Heb je daarmee geen problemen.......

Frühstückraum ist im Keller und dadurch entsteht so ein enges Raumgefühl.

Excellente situation aux portes de la vieille ville. 2 minutes de la place du marché. Tranquillité garantie.

Sehr entgegenkommende Hilfsbereitschaft an der Rezeption. Gute Einrichtung und Sauberkeit in Zimmer und Bad, Aufzug usw. Für meine Bedürfnisse die zentrale Lage in der Stadt.

Das Personal im Sperber ist sehr freundlich doch die Barmaid könnte sich etwas verbessern. An einer Bar hat es nicht nur Stammkunden mit denen man sich unterhalten sollte. Sonst alles OK

J'ai été surpris que le petit déjeuner ne soit pas compris dans le prix déjà élevé pour une simple chambre (normalement je descends à l'hôtel D) plus de confort chambre plus grande, plus contemporain et petit déjeuner compris dans le prix.
