Personel very polite
The Staff was amazing. I was lare for breakfast on my departure day and the front desk asked if they would accomdate me. Abnar was amazing and prepared me a breakfast fit for a king. He provided a wide selection of averything they had to offer and offer to make me an omlete. Truly made me feel like a valued customer. Of course the view out the balcony is amazing. Lake Leman and Mt. Blanc in the backround. What more could you ask for.
Had trouble with the WIFI but the service desk quickly contacted the provider and assisten me in correcting the issue.
The size, location and comfort, the breakfast was fabulous
Wi-fi connection not the best nor was the front desk service
Comfortable bed. Good bed linen. Quiet room.
small bathroom. some plumbing issues downstairs. restaurant was closed. More 3 star than 4 star.
Position and views
Room dated and lacked attention WC seat cracked One wine glass only for 2 guests coffee/tea facilities poor and not replaced during a three night stay. Transfer to station not available on sundays
Apartment dirty one window with broken fly protection spiders in the flat bad beds in one room terrible experience never again
Very nice breakfasts, perfect location
Very old equipment from 60s in the kitchen (we've stayed in the apartment), restaurant didn't work for lunch and dinner. Need to check in wifi every 24 hours.
Receptionist very friendly and helpful. Huge comfortable bed. Room was very clean.
The hotel looks tired and in urgent need of some uplift!! There was a broken socket in our room which could have been a potential danger. The bathroom was poorly lit, and the shower head required unblocking as it was confined to a single jet from a couple of unblocked holes, and dribbles which for somebody follicularly challenged felt like my head was being drilled!! :-( For anyone unstable on their feet, the shower is not an option as there was no bath mat, so consequently very slippy. Breakfast was ok, but much of the food on offer was uncovered, and as there were flies around it was pretty off putting. Parking is limited, six spaces if I recall. We were fortunate to get the last available space, otherwise it would have been about 25sfr for the night at the nearby underground car park. I did request an early breakfast when I booked, but the receptionist was obviously unaware of this, though he did ultimately manage to resolve it. Some of these issues may appear trivial, but in comparison with other hotels I have stayed in, it was excessively overpriced for what it is.
The location overlooking Lake Geneva
Sadly, the hotel had a run down feel. When we booked, dinner was advertised which was a factor in selecting the Beau Rivage but they had stopped a dinner service when we were there. The bathroom was tiny and the booked lake view was sideways over the balcony's rusty table and another side balcony to the lake.
Location – particularly the view as we had a lakeside view with a balcony. Also, it was very convenient for the town and not too far from the train station. The bed was amazing!
The safe wasn’t working so we had to use the deposit box in reception each time we went out. The staff seemed a little cold at first but I think that was more a language problem as most of them didn’t seem to speak much English – although they were much better than my French!
- location - free wifi
- not a 4 star hotel except the price - most of the staff is not professionally trained, e.g. Calling in room to ask whether the room can be ckeaned while we were in the room, discussing staff shifts at the reception while guests are around, etc. - many oddities, e.g. Cannot open windows fully because the mountings to hold them is too big (ir the room too small??), the toilet cubicle does not stay up by itself, which has either of a) you need to pee sitting, or b) hold it with your knee while pissing, which is not quite comfortable), a large table with 3 chairs in the niddle if the corridor by the lift???why!?? - breakfast had no more bread, no more plate, had to press orange juice on your own, the waiter was wearing a suit two sizes too large (he looked like frankenstein) and some did not have uniforms to the point I wondered why that guest was asking me whether I want her coffee - in short, it gave the impression that the hotel had a life 30 years ago, did not get renovated much since then and had to squeeze dollars by saving on experienced staff (who were nice btw, just not 4-star) - never again for me
The location, closeness to ferry and beautiful view across Lake Leman. Very helpful and completely friendly staff who put up with my poor French but all spoke perfect English when I needed to speak to them in English. Very close to town centre - ideal for evening meals. Very good breakfast in a beautiful breakfast room.
Seems very expensive to a British person, but all lakeside hotels in Nyon had such prices during July and August , I discovered.
Nice breakfast and view, mostly welcoming, friendly and efficient staff.
Somewhat slow service and poor English skills from a few of the people in the reception.
It's easy to see how grand this lakeside hotel once was. Our room was large and spotlessly clean and our bed the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel. We had a small balcony at the front of the hotel with views as far as Geneva. The staff were friendly and helpful. The safe in our room was not working but the hotel staff let us use one of the safety deposit boxes in reception. Breakfast was delicious and included cooked options if required. I would definitely stay at the Beau Rivage again.
There are a few minor things that could do with some attention. The door handle on the bathroom door was broken, the plumbing is not what it once was and the room could have done with a lick of paint and the carpet should really have been replaced but we were so comfortable and the view was so stunning we were able to forgive these minor details. The only real disappointment was that on arrival for breakfast on Sunday morning there was absolutely no food or juices left. It was half an hour before breakfast was due to finish and we weren't the only ones to go hungry. This, I am afraid, was unforgivable. Apologies were made and a forage in the kitchen to rustle up some bread and fruit was made but took so long we had to leave without eating.
I enjoyed the location being on the lake and breakfast was delicious. The waiter was very helpful. The reception staff could not be more friendly and helpful.
Whilst being perfectly functional, the decor in the bathroom was somewhat dated.
The location is amazing with lovely views. My room was large with a separate large bathroom and had a great view of the lake. The WiFi in my room was good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good.
We arrived at 9.30pm and both the restaurant and bar were closed. Not great when you've been travelling all day and food is required. We had to go out and find a restaurant, but as it was late and dark, we didn't find one nearby, so didn't eat. The WiFi didn't work anywhere but in my room, and I was working there the next morning for a couple of hours, it was very frustrating not having WiFi, though my colleagues WiFi worked fine. A different WiFi code is needed for bedrooms and lobby, which I found strange.
The friendly staffs
The view Room size Breakfast Staff Location
The place is totally run down and needs to be fully renovated. Can't see how it can be done without closing down the hotel for a year or two. Insulation between rooms is "none"
Location is the only thing this hotel has going for it
The rooms are old and dank. There are stains on the carpets and walls. It is musty and depressing. WiFi doesn't work and there is no climate control. The staff acted a though we were the first guests to be dissatisfied, and they really don't care. Don't stay here. However, brunch was good.
The bed was large
Everything was closed bar restaurant hotel needs refurb. We paid two nights stayed one. When i explained we Wanted to leave no bar no Restaurant no facilites They would not give credit i would not recomend this hotel carpet Old dirty. Breakfast little choice. Not good experiene. Regards Diane atkin
The bed is very comfortable, and the shuttle is useful. Breakfast is good - a fast service with lots of options.
The hotel temperature is way too hot. The water in the shower was cold both mornings. The TV take a long time to start-up and change channel, and many of the channels has such a poor signal that I could not watch.
Great room, large with seperate tv room.
Food in restaurant pricy and of average quality,
Comfortable bed and pillows. Beautiful view. Nice desk. Friendly and attentive staff. Transport arrived quickly. Shuttle was nice when available.
Had some problems with WiFi on my phone. Stains on carpet. Couldnt get coffee to-go in the morning. Clips on pants hangers were awkward. Safe malfunction. Lighting and temp control could be better.
Lake view.Effort made by Staff considering the decrepit , broken down facilities with which they had to contend
Junior suite - filthy carpet, broken taps, damp patch ceiling - extremely poor lighting probably to 'disguise' shabbiness. This hotel is to close for refurbishment but should have closed earlier and not duped clients into paying CHF 700 for 2 nights- (too late to find alternative accomm.).
