The hotel is set in a small village with a 'free', efficient bus service connecting you to the usual tourist spots. The owners (Rita & Kasper), provided a warm welcome and are a real mine of information. They helped us to make the most of our three day stay in and around Beatenburg, with lots of advice and suggestions. It is highly recommended that guests exploit their host's local knowledge to the full. It could save a fortune in wasted time and money! The room was spotless and serviced every day. However, it may be considered 'smaller' than some accommodation of the same class. The bed was very comfortable and the bath/shower excellent. The food/breakfast was fabulous with excellent, local cheese, cold meats, bread and beer. It is recommended that if you book this hotel, then you book half-board, as this removes the problem of driving and resorting to the sometimes crowded nearby restaurants, allowing to you totally relax. The view from the restaurant and terrace is outstanding, overlooking Lake Thun and the mountains. It can certainly work out cheaper, as some of restaurants, though presenting high quality food, can be expensive.
