A beautiful and historic city with so much to see.
A beautiful and historic city with so much to see. Transport yourself back 100s of years at the ramparts or city hall, or the church of St Nicolas. The old town has some great places to eat and drink. The city is centrally located on the main train line from Geneva to Zurich.

Fribourg is a beautiful city. A mix of the new and the old. It is a great city to walk around (although lots of hills) and discover hidden treats and views. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend visiting this gorgeous town.

Lovely old town with streets and bridges to wander.
Lovely old town with streets and bridges to wander. Excellent pedestrian only bar and restaurant area. Have a fondue at the Cafe du Midi! And search out the tapas restaurant of the pedestrian area. Terrific.
Bonus is a wonderful climb up the cathedral tower-do it first for a great orientation. It’s only 368 steps.

Fribourg is a beautiful town with some stunning scenery.
Fribourg is a beautiful town with some stunning scenery. Lots of impressive bridges over the fast flowing river Sarine. Views from the cathedral tower were spectacular and well worth the effort of climbing the 364 steps to the top. The museum of art history was much better than expected and well worth a visit.

We were visiting to see friends who live there.
We were visiting to see friends who live there. Have visited before several times but stayed with our friends. This time needed a cheap hotel as lots of us. Would recommend the Cathedral, also the old town and walks along the gorge. Also visit the caves that hermits hewed out of the cliffs to live in. Good restaurants. Visit the Jean Tinguely mobile in Grand Places.
Nice hotel close to the former city walls (les remparts). The room was clean and the beds were comfy. We appreciated the the staff's offer to choose between staying in one of their recently renovated rooms, which were (at the time of writing) all located on the ground floor and subject to street noise, or one of the older rooms on a higher floor and with a view of the remparts. We chose the latter and we enjoyed our stay.
The house is in a perfect location, since it is in the centre of Fribourg, just a few minutes from the cathedral! It is well maintained, clean and pretty. It has a small garden where you can relax. We found everything we needed inside the house, including a trio of towels, shower gel shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush. Furthermore, the host Alessio is very nice, punctual and helpful. Highly recommended!
Great location from the main Friourg station which was a few minutes walk away. I used trains to go to other town/ city, so it was so convenient and also there is a little Ice cream shop in front of the hotel with many Vegan options!
All clean, tidy and hidden kitchenette was just a bonus although the cooker was out of order.
I was impressed by the level of service and cleanliness. The room was a good size and very comfortable. It's shower area was small but the doors closed properly, unlike idenitcal showers in other, recent hotels, so the floor kept dry. Thankfully, they had plenty of Euro>Swiss power adaptors and were able to lend me one.
I really liked the quaint old building the hotel is in. Despite the location as central as a few other hotels, it is still close to the centre (5-10 walk). There is an Italian restaurant next to the hotel and a small park nearby. It was perfect for a one night stay in Fribourg. 😀
Low price (for Switzerland). Accessible by car without having to go through city centre traffic. Clean bathrooms and showers. Quiet rooms. Restaurant on the floor below (so you can have a beer after getting home) (I didn't notice any noise from restaurant guests at all).
Super location - excellent for the old city. Parking easy in the square (the hotel sells you a pass for 24 hrs - but you have to ask). Very friendly and helpful reception who printed out tickets I needed the next day. Breakfast was efficient and friendly server.
Good location in the heart of Fribourg. Well outfitted as an apartment, with a kitchen. Although it's self check-in, a staff person was friendly when I later met him. Adjoining Italian restaurant was great quality and (by Swiss standards) reasonably priced.
The hotel is well kept with sufficient modernity. The staff were so friendly, there should be more of such hospitality in Switzerland! They were simply lovely, from check-in to breakfast up until check-out.
The room was spacious and clean, bed was comfortable. Location of the hotel was convenient. Self check-in was easy and smooth. I requested a receipt by email afterwards, which I promptly received.
Clean, tidy, hot water. Very good breakfast. Worth every penny of the money they asked, considering the high prices of other hotels.
Very helpful and kind staff.
The hotel is located in the centre of the historical city. It is clean. The stuff speaks French and English. The room was spacious and bed quite comfortable.
