Hotel Berghof Amaranth

Easy to find/park, clean, good breakfast in a nice room, friendly and English-speaking staff

The room needs to be redecorated (70'-80's feeling...)

The receptionist are very friendly, room and toilet are very clean, breakfast very good, the mountains view are very beutiful around the hotel.

The location is too bad to reach it and find it by walking in first day. I became exhausted because it is in high level and 15 minute far from first bus stop. Also I ask someone to guide to the hotel.

The staff was friendly, location is great for exploring the Lauterbrennen Valley, and the breakfast is good.

We had no electricity in our room or in the hallway when we first checked in and had to request it be fixed (which it was promptly), the restaurant had very limited choices for dinner, we could hear every footstep taken in the room above us, walls are very thin and can hear conversations in the hallway, and limited hot water in the shower in the morning.

We had lovely views from our comfortable corner room to the mountains and to the lake. Location was good, in a pleasant village close to Interlaken. Good breakfasts and a very welcoming staff made our 4 days stay an excellent one. The hotel has a small outdoor pool which was well used as the weather was hot. Superb location for a cooling dip at the end of a hot day. There were cows in the paddock next door which added charm to the pool area, Great panoramic vista all around. We would recommend this hotel, and, the area has much more to offer than we were able to experience in our short stay. We would have liked to have extended our stay, but the hotel was fully booked at that time.

The view from the bedroom towards the lake was nice. The single bed I had was very comfortable and the buffet breakfast was one of the best I have seen in a 3 star hotel in Switzerland. Nice terrace and outdoor pool. Yes, I would return here.

The down quilt was too heavy and warm for the summer months - it should be changed to a lightweight quilt according to the season. Consequently I had to sleep with the window/door wide open to keep cool. The toilet/shower of my single room was the compact type found in cabins of ships - adequate enough but the bathmat got soaking wet. I should have placed it outside the door instead.

We enjoyed a lot staying at this hotel. The location is beautiful, stuff was very kind and room&food were great!

The room was clean. The view outside of our window once the clouds and rain lifted.

Our had a smell of cat urine meeting old people. Even keeping the windows open did not clear out the smell. The good thing was you got use to it after 3-4 minutes. The recepitionist did not tell us that they would give out bus / train tickets to get to Interlaken which ended up costing us money. We were told for breakfast that we could not sit in certain seating because they were reserved. We did not see one person come down there and sit where the view was. Also, the lunch meats for the breakfast was not put out until 0830. For some reason they were not catering to the early crowd at breakfast.

Friendly staff and great breakfast. The area is much nicer and quieter than Interlaken.

Breakfast was fantastic- the bread was still warm. Fresh fruits and juices, large assortment of cheeses. Very friendly staff. Our room was huge-we could have fit 5 people in it. Awesome views. Close enough to everything that we wanted to do in Interlaken or in the mountains, but in a nice quiet area.
