Location and helpful staff

Very very noisy vicinity at night because people drink and chat late at night along the street. There's no aircon in the room and the room is stuffy if windows are shut tight when one is sleeping. The shower has very low water pressure on the fourth floor so the water flow is pretty slow . Very inconvenient to use if the guests have to take a shower quickly. Hostel is unmanned from 10pm onwards. If you lock yourself out of your room or misplace your room key late at night , it is your own problem. The weird lift they have only works from the second floor. If you have heavy bags, you have to lug it up to the first level then walk up another few steps before getting into the tiny lift..

We (3 friends) had a private room so i guess privacy wasn't that big an issue for us. The separate common bathrooms for males / females is a good arrangement.

You have a separate box with a key where you can put your staff. Also bags you can put there.

Unfortunately this hostel is located over a bar/Disco and I was there from saturday to Sunday. Until 4 am there was music and afterwards the staff cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.

Big kitchen with lots of accessories to help with making own meals, supermarkets close by too.

Difficult to get into building initially, luckily a guest was coming out and they helped us.

the gap between 12:00 and 15:00 was a bit boring for check in . and a bit non comfi for smoker even that i had to go out , there wasn't covered space the rain was over me :)

Right in the old town and not too expensive for Switzerland. There was a friendly atmosphere in the common areas and lots of information available about cultural events and sites worth seeing. You can buy food from the vending machine or at the reception if you get there after all the stores have closed.

It was hard to fall asleep with all the noise from the pub downstairs. Toilets and showers were not too clean and the entire floor could have been in better condition, but it was okay for a hostel.

The staff is helpful and kind. And the hostel management is really professional.. Hostel has a great location and great lobby. Extremely clean..

The room was very narrow. Because of the weather, all the windows were shut down so there's no air circulation.

A tad pricey, but then again so is the whole Switzerland and it was indeed the cheapest accommodation I found in Bern

Rooms only had 4 beds so little bit more private. Washing machine available downstairs, and kitchen facilities.

Getting kicked out of the common room on Sunday morning for cleaning when the signs stated that the kitchen was closed for cleaning on Sunday. Not the whole common room. Thank god for MacDonalds...

Excellent value and central. Well managed backpackers - would stay again.

The idea of a nightclub on the ground level, but we were not disturbed so fine.

The common room is big and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped. Another thing that I really like is there's a women only shower room with wash basin which is big and clean.

Location is perfect and the common room is cozy.

Bern was perfect! It was a 10 minute walk to and from the train. The manager was behind the desk. He was welcoming and informative. He went above and beyond to help us print out our train tickets. The rooms were clean, we had two amazing views of the roof tops of historic Bern. The bathrooms were clean. The kitchen area and common areas were nice, clean and welcoming. We would come back over and over again. Bern was so much more than we expected in general and then to have this very warm, clean, safe, affordable, perfectly located and welcoming spot was heaven for a family who was mid trip and exhausted. Thank you!!!!

Great location. Decent room for a hostel. The kitchen was good although we didn't use it.

The check-in at 3:00 p.m. and check-out at 10:00 a.m. is annoying. The heating should be improved as it didn't work, nevertheless we’ve received heating unit by the staff upon request. The temperature of the warm water in the bathroom was low.

Very welcoming staff. Perfect location. As it is partly a hotel, part dormitories, I asked for a quiet room and they accommodated me perfectly. Free wifi in the communal area - a real bonus, (would be nice in the bedroom but one cannot expect it as such a good room price) For those on a budget, they provide excellent kitchen and diningroom facilities so you can cook for yourself. Good system that food left behind is offered free to anyone who needs it, rather than thrown away. Very helpful brochures about Bern including bus travel passes

Be prepared for stairs up to the reception, then about 6 more steps up to the lift - a little difficult with luggage, but staff are helpful. My room had poor lighting (but had lovely view). For information only, it is easier to go there from the main station by bus/tram than by taxi - because of the one-way system a taxi is expensive and takes longer than by tram or on foot.

Very clean and close to the city center and shopping area but not noisy because it is located on a little street a few step away from the the main one. I really had a peaceful night there.
