Established in 1887, the 5-star Splendide Royal, with its turn-of-the-century character, is Lugano's most fashionable hotel and is located on Lugano's lakeside main street.

The family-run Continental Parkhotel is located 220 yards south of the main train station of Lugano, where the funicular leaves regularly for the center of the city.
Score from 1277 reviews Excellent
good location and the fact that they have parking
noisy in the morning but it does worth :)
View of Lago Lugano was very nice, and the ambiance of the room was pleasant. Excellent bath and bed. Staff courteous and willing to please. Unusual configuration of rooms in the hotel itself as it used to be a museum.
Breakfast room needs a paint remodel...the yellow/gold has to go especially with gold light bulbs. Extremely jarring at breakfast to use this room especially if it is raining and the outdoor light is reduced.
Location... if you get a room with lake view. Friendly staff.
Too expensive for quality services but being in Switzerland, Lugano Lake, it is understandable. Average restaurant.
The location of this hotel was good. It was out of the mayhem and an easy walk down the lake side promenade to all kinds of shopping and dining. I was blown away when the free Wifi tested at 80 MBPS! Yes, 80, not 8 or .8 like most places in Europe! The little cafe/bar with the terrace was nice at night to have a drink and use the Wifi to catch up on the day's affairs. The staff was really nice and the rooms very nice also.
My only complaint is that the rate I paid seemed really high for a Best Western but I imagine it's more a factor of the area and the time of year.
The beautiful view on the lake The central location
Staff were very helpful. Although they were not many of them.
good location, nice renovated rooms, good air condition and wifi availability
we stayed in the executive and deluxe rooms, both renovated and nicely done. all was great especially the view of the lake
the elevator is slow, but you get used to it. sometimes you can hear the neighboring room, especially the TV if it is loud.
We loved the view from balcony, stunning and made the stay all the more special. When the windows were closed absolute peace and quiet.
Not a thing
Some staff attitude in the reception When we check in our room is Executive Double Room mountain view but the gave us standard smelly room building view, and when I complain they change it to better one. wi fi either rarely very weak signal or no signal. Complained and no response Breakfast is poor
Good location in centre of Lugano
The "king size" double bed was in fact two singles that were on wheels and drifted apart in the night and could have potentially crippled my girlfiend who has a bad back. The shower ran hot and cold and wasn't high enough on wall nor poweful enough. Overll not good for a junior suite which we paid extra for.
I like every thing in this hotel .Location , breakfast , stuff , rooms , the lake view from my room . every thing was perfect , and i will come again
Very good location. Clean nice room.Confortable beds
The welcome by the staff when we arrived was good and friendly. Location of hotel is good (opposite the lake), however if you don't get a room overlooking the lake it will be disappointing.
We requested a lake view junior suite but we got a room at the back of the building (overlooked by neighbouring buildings) with a tiny view of the lake in between buildings. The wireless internet was non-existent in the room and the lift was tiny. Room was very noisy at times (walls seem to be paper thin). Towels are thin and bad quality and room wasn't clean (sweet wrappers and other dirt at base of bed). Furniture old and worn (in the whole building and the bedroom). Breakfast was appalling quality (don't bother going downstairs for it!)
Great location on lake promenade away from the hubbub of the city train station (a cab or bus ride up the hill), old town (just a 20 minute stroll away). Relaxed, resort town vibe. Hotel didn't feel like a hotel but more like being a guest in someone's very large home. Loved the view and the little table with two chairs on the balcony. Decor of hotel is very pretty and Italianate.
Wifi dropped every few minutes and had to reconnect.
The staff and our room were superb. We had an excellent view, the breakfast was far better than most. When we wanted an afternoon drink they always found someone to open the bar. Laundry was back the next day and WiFi always worked. They even had some TV channels in english.
My only problem was the bed was a little hard for my hips.To have the option of extra padding, feather bed or such would have solved the problem.
Location and lake view
it is a little bit old fashion forniture
excellent staff, location,
breakfast ,Furniture my need to be changed
Team very friendly and competent Able to speak many linguages Rooms clean Breakfirst buffet not too large, but good quality and enough, coffee very tasty Location almost direct on the see Parking slot for free
View hidden from the building on the side. Lift from another age Noise isolation (We could hear dinstictly a couple at making love and use the bathroom) W-Lan is for free, but need registration each time I-Pad goes sleep No safe Poor bathroom accessory (for a 4 star hotel) Bed from IKEA A good 3 stars, not a 4 Price a bit high for the performance
location and view
rooms/beds swimming pool breakfast
The location was convenient and the staff was always courteous and made me feel at home.
I requested for a lake view room but got a room fronting the side building with strips of the lake.
Great location. The valet and restaurant attendant were very pleasant.
Reception staff were rude, first gave me a room with no view even though the hotel was empty but changed after I got angry. Very highly priced for an average hotel.
Bad staff small room
