Price, location, style
nothing to complaint about
Clean, WiFi superfast and stays logged in. Free bus and tram journeys within Geneva.
Staff seemed unhappy at check in. The breakfast was expensive at 26 CHf pp so we didn't try it, but there are cafes nearby. Only twin beds in our room and I still like my wife enough that this is a problem.
Location, cleanliness and the discounted price I got on booking.com
The rooms are incredibly small. One basically steps straight into the bathroom the moment one gets out of bed. I stayed before at the other Best Western in the area - Century - and the rooms there are certainly bigger. While it's true that overall Diplomate seems cleaner, the normal price difference between the two (Diplomate being significantly more expensive than Century) doesn't seem justified. In the end, they both go as 4-star hotels (2 - 2 1/2 in reality, by continental standards). What's offered for breakfast is definitely not worth the 26 Francs charged
Checkout was 10 CHF more expensive than the booking. Staff refused to give me an invoice, said printer was broken and they would email it to me. Invoice never arrived.
The hotel is clean, very warm welcome as the workers are very kind and Thr hotel is vey well placed, few meters far from the tramway station. 40 minutes from the airport and just few minutes from the water jet (if you ask for a room in The 7 RH level you could even see it) But this is the issue too, if you want to sleep ask for a room which is not in the street side cause the phonetic isolation is very bad so you will hear the tram, buses, cars , pedestrians ... All te night and specially in the early morning
location and ease of public transportation
room slightly small but adaquate
Bathroom was cramped
staff friendly and helpful quite cheap
a bit noisy; you can hear the nearby tram
clean and confortable; staff is very nice
the tram station nearby is noisy
hairdryer on wall falling to pieces and a possible safety hazard. Had trouble checking in with staff at desk.
the location is perfect and staff is very nice and helpful
room and bathroom are so small that don't have enough space to move. facility is quite old.
A fair overall package, excellent connections to public transportation and easy access to central city area and the lake
Rather limited space
Free public transport ticket available. Well English spoken.
Nothing extravagant, completely affordable and clean, helpful facilities...the free public transport pass served me very well..used everyday! The fruit on the 'bar' was fresh but frequently not ripe. The yogurts were good and the bread selection was good.
Breakfast was really not varied enough. The selection of 'cereals' was for people who know nothing about good nutrition. The boiled eggs were the same ones pulled out of the frig everyday. The fruit on the main buffet was from tins The coffee was not special at all.
very freundly staff
very expensiv breafstek?
Hotel was clean and with good public transport connection
Free travel card for public transport was not automatically granted
The bathroom is nice...that's about it.
The double bed was two single beds pushed together. For 150 CHF a night you really don't expect such poor and makeshift situation. Place was really quite dingy and in desperate need of a refurb. The staff were unhelpful in giving recommendations and police-like in requesting documents. Surely will never go with Best Western again.
Within walking distance to the old town. Trams right outside. Bus to the train station only 1 block away
very convinient on the way out of town.
No coffee or tea in room No shampoo or shower gel No breakfast or even coffee/tea available before 7:00 Luke warm water in sink Shower head did not stay in place Shower over bath with flimsy plastic curtain No spare power sockets Silverfish in bathroom Crack in the bedroom wall Reception staff very poor (did not direct us to lift, did not advise Wifi code, kept playing loud programme on laptop while we tried to converse with them)
The location is pretty good and the hotel is very close to several public transport stops. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was quite big compared to the other hotels here.
The receptionists were not always very nice.
The staff was very helpful and were able to speak English which made it easier for me because i am an English speaker rather than a French speaker. The hotel is also right by the public transport network which made it easy for me to get into town.
The rooms are a little squeezed. The hotel should be able to provide shampoo, bath liquid and lotion packs for free rather than having guests buy these items.
Cheap for Geneva. Good free wifi.
Avoid the rooms at the front because trams go by all night
the hotel grants you a time travel into the past: it is not common to be back in the eighties! The room is small, the bathroom extra-small (and without any amenity besides a soap bar), no trace of a coffee maker or similar and the room was not cleaned in 2 days: not bad for a 4 stars hotel!! I think the use of discount annoucments (66%) for prices that are acceptable for the standard provided is a way to mislead customers!
