Easy going comfort. Walking distance to town center about 15 min in vicinity of woods with hike and PicNic possibilities.

The Budget Waldhotel is the older part (chalet style) of the Waldhotel-Unspunnen. This is a separate hotel to Waldhotel Unspunnen. It is next to the hamlet of Unspunnen, on the quick route between Interlaken and Wilderswil.

It's southern location gives a wonderful view to the Eiger-Mönch-Jungfrau range. The Budget-Waldhotel has been run by René and Margot Schneider-Wyttenbach since 1977.

The Chalet aimed at young people looking for activities including adventure-sports and sight-seeing.

One child under 6 years is charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.

One child under 12 years is charged 70 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.

One child under 16 years is charged 90 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.

Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

Pets are allowed on request. Charges may be applicable.

Hotel information

Its southern location gives a wonderful view to the Eiger-Mönch-Jungfrau range. The Chalet is specially made for young people looking for activities, such as adventure-sports and sight-seeing. The management is always willing to give you local advice on activities.

Food & beverage

The hotel has a Schnadis-Restaurant with daily specialities and a smaller a la carte-card with local specialities. Vegetarian food is available on request, also salad-platters, spaghetti and snacks. A Continental buffet breakfast is served.

Room information

Basin with running hot and cold water inside the rooms. The shower and toilet are share facilities and are located down the hall.

Area information

Jungfraujoch: 'Top of Europe', with the highest railway station in Europe. Here you can enjoy sight seeing the Trümmelbach water-falls in the Lauterbrunnen valley, steamer trips starting at Interlaken for Lake Thun, or at Interlaken-Ost for Lake Brienz, short trips to Brienz (the wood carving village), Giessbach-falls and the nostalgic old Grand-Hotel.

The staff was very nice and coopretive.

The room flooring was too old, balcony door & glass was very old and whole the night you can hear the sound of traffic from adjusent highway under the bridge.

Friendly personnel, historic building, good value. Though the building is old and the interior looks a little shabby, everything is perfectly clean.

As the name implies (Waldhotel = Forest Hotel), the location is a little remote and public transport not available after 8.00.

Zeer vriendelijk en gedienstig personeel.

Heel basic en heel ouderwets hotelletje met kamers uit de 19de eeuw. We waren op doorreis en overnachtten slechts 1 nacht. Prijzen van Zwitserse hotels zijn in het algemeen veel te duur.

La atención del personal

Debido a la cercania del hotel a la carretera, no hay silencio para dormir. Las habitaciones son oscuras y tambien la ducha.
