Hotel TerraceTerracestrasse 33, 6390 Engelberg (Show map) Good, Score from 103 reviews“Large, sunny room with a view (room 201). Modern hotel, room was in a good state, bathroom was wonderful. Set in a majestic mountain landscape in Engelberg, this Art Nouveau hotel was built in 1903. It offers numerous eating venues, a 24-hour front desk, free public Wi-Fi and free parking. All rooms with private bathrooms at Hotel Terrace are equipped with TVs and telephones. The restaurant offers an impressive view of the famous Mount Titlis. Guests can also enjoy the view from the atrium on colder days. The Belle Epoque Restaurant serves a 4-course-meal in summer and various themed dinner buffets on winter evenings. There is a bar offering cocktail drinks as well as a bar with fine whiskeys and cigars. The free, historic cable car runs from the village up to the Hotel Terrace in 3 minutes. The ski shuttle bus will take guests free of charge from the train station to the Titlis Valley Station, which is a 20-minute walk from the Terrace Hotel. Hotel Rooms: 168

A very central location. Buffet breakfast was good The rooms were terrible, old, shabby and very cold. There was an inch gap above my room door where noise and light came in. I told the staff but had no assistance.

Breakfast was fantastic - better than most 5 star hotel breakfasts. Very clean, friendly staff, good value for money. Internet wasn't working. Very popular with tour groups. A little far from ski lifts, but buses work throughout resort.

Good location, very friendly staff, an absolutely stunning view (I posted it on facebook it was that good), and a very reasonable price everything considered. Don't expect luxury, the hotel has faded somewhat from its halcyon days(although the rooms are perfectly functional and clean) however the walls are a bit thin.

I had been concerned with some negative feedback about the hotel, but I found the Terrace to be an absolute pleasure. Affordable fun in the mountains of angels. The breakfast was fantastic, and the view was spectacular. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. I would not consider staying at any other hotel, as the price was also an important factor. Thank you so much Hotel Terrace for making our yearly vacation so enjoyable. With love from Asia to our Swiss friends.

Large, sunny room with a view (room 201). Modern hotel, room was in a good state, bathroom was wonderful. Breakfast was great - a good, varied spread of both continental and some British / US components. Staff were friendly and helpful. A bit out of the way of the ski slopes, meaning you need to walk a fair bit to the free bus to the slopes. They have a disco which plays doof-doof music until the last person leaves - when we were there it lasted until close to 4am - no sleep for us in room 201.

Hotel Terrace has a good location and has a beautiful view, very good quality and price. Not really a continental breakfast, just variety of salty food. The Spa was small but nice. The problem was that everyone were naked.

I got a superior room for 3 people and the view from the rowas amazing. The room was confortable, clean, and well equipped. However, there was no locker in the room. Central location and good breakfast. The hotel was not very crowded and most of the tourists seemed to be young swiss couples and family. The downside was the noise at night from the disco at the first floor. I got a superior plus room for 3 people in early january. The room was confortable, big, clean, and well equipped. Amazing view. However, there was no locker in the room. Central location and delicious breakfast. Helpful staff. Surprisingly the hotel was not very crowded and I didn't see any tourist group there. Neverheless, the hotel is old and there are carpets everywhere, so not recommended at all for alergic people - that is not my case. To me the downside of this hotel was the noise from the disco located at the first floor.

“I have always been a little worried when it comes to staying at a family run hotel. However, Hotel Belmont has changed that. It was as good as any 5 star hotels that I had stayed in before with my 3 girls. The suite was of a very good size and very comfortable. My 3 girls loved the suite that I had booked, the morning breakfast and most of all the friendly and helpful staff. We thank Hotel Belmont for a wonderful holiday.” Celine, Woollerton Park |
