The Hotel Krone Unterstrass enjoys an ideal and central location in a quiet part of Zurich.

In a few minutes a short walk or the streetcars 11 and 14 will take you to Zurich’s central train station, the shopping district, famous sites such as the Fraumünster and Grossmünster churches, the Opera House and the art galleries, the city zoo with its Masoala Rainforest, Lake Zurich, the Exhibition Centre and the Hallenstadion concert stadium.

Your ****home in Zurich! Located in a central yet quiet location, getting anywhere is easy – a short walk or the trams / streetcars that stop right outside the hotel will take you to wherever you wish to go!. Hotel parking is also available and for travelling groups, a bus may be parked next to the hotel. All 57 rooms have been recently renovated and are tastefully furnished to the most modern of standards. Each room includes shower/bath, toilet, hair dryer, bathroom scales, digital direct-dial telephone, fax and computer connections, a room safe, cable-TV (LCD Flat screen), radio, mini bar, soundproofed windows and air conditioning. Enjoy light Mediterranean and typical Swiss cuisine in the elegant and friendly atmosphere of the “differente” restaurant & bar. For conferences and banquets, there are 5 different rooms to choose from and we cater for between 4 to 200 guests. All rooms are outfitted with air conditioning and-state-of-the-art technology, and the whole building is connected to the Public Wireless LAN system (wireless broad-band service provided by Swisscom Mobile). If you would like to have a look at our facilities or book a seminar or banquet room, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Food & beverage

Our speciality restaurant «differente» is exclusively dedicated to indulging an unrestrained delight in light Mediterranean cuisine. Following complete renovation, this spacious and pleasantly airy restaurant was re-opened in the autumn of 2001 and harmonises the charm of Riviera rubble masonry and Gaudi mosaics with market-fresh Mediterranean dishes. Menu selections include enticing 'primi' such as tartar parmiggiano and an array of pasta and gnocchi dishes, as well as delicious 'secondi' – for instance, a hearty osso bucco cremolata or an exquisitely prepared angler-fish piccata. Here, dining is appealingly informal – after all, life is usually complicated enough. Buon appetito!

For a peaceful and refreshing night's sleep, 57 comfortably modern and tastefully furnished guestrooms are available. All of them feature amenities such as air conditioning, shower/bath and WC, fax and computer connection, built-in safe, cable TV, radio, minibar, hairdryer, scales, laundry service, and much more. I stayed in a nice single room, spacious, nicely decorated, simple, modern, all I need. Wonderful area, 10 min walk to the old part of the city, 7 min walk to are No 5, with Langstrasse and beautiful cafes.

Wireless internet connection could be free of charge. It is almost 2009. 30 euros for 24 hours is too expensive!

overall we liked it.

There is nothing negative. The only thing is hat i thought it was within walking distance. Instead it was 3 tram stops away from main train station. It s no big deal but it is good to communicate this to manage expectations.

Best Location. Room was neat and clean. (Differente) Bar and Restaurant on ground floor is nice.

Breakfast variety is poor. Staff's are not friendly enough and communication (English) is very bad. House keeping (any request by call) were not hospitable.

Location. 15mins walk to central station and 5mins with tram (3 tram stops).

Bathroom was very small. Not much around area if looking for something to do during the evenings.

Location. It is not too far from the train station, the old town and traveling with a 2 year old I like to have groceries store close by as well. The hotel is very clean, the beds were very comfortable and it was very quiet.
