Hotel Central Wolter - GrindelwaldHauptstrasse, 3818 Grindelwald (Show map) Very good, Score from 335 reviews“Convenient location, friendly staff, good for 1 night stay”
Anton,
Москва
The cozy Hotel Central Wolter is conveniently located in Grindelwald, just one minute's walk from the train station and from all bus services to the Jungfrau, Männlichen and First region. Enjoy regional and international cuisine in the hotel Wolter's restaurant with its heated outdoor terrace, which is an inviting place also on colder days. The breakfast and dining room for guests having booked half board is located on the second floor, from where you have superb views of the Eiger mountain. The cozy lounge is a great place for nice chats with fellow travelers. If you are coming by car you can park right behind the hotel. Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel free of charge. Stayed in the apartment with heated floors. Very heated -- we never figured out how to turn the heat down! Comfty apartment tho, quaint with very good mountain view across city rooftops. Firm Beds. Buffet Brekkie was typical European, great breads, yogurt, sliced meats, etc. Must ask for soft boiled eggs tho. Good coffee. Best location. Expensive town, no deals anywhere. Great Ropes course at the Sports Complex (everything here, actually). Skiing was so-so. slush at bottom, 1 day skiing at top great. our other two ski-days there were non-existent due to TooMuch Snow and closed mountain. Sports shop doesn't give refunds for unused equipt.rentals. Bummer!! Very Expensive Trip for no skiing. Apartments don't have own ski room with boot warmers, etc. You have to lug your gear into main hotel downstairs--and ther was never any space there, frustrating!! Snow path into hotel was always icy and unsafe, especially with 4 large suitcases. That needs attention. Also some lighting at the rear entry to hotel onto the icy access path! While we thought the staff was very friendly and helpful, some assistance with the baggage thru the snow/ice obstacle course would have been appreciated. Pots and pans should be automatically part of the room. And instructions on how to turn off/down the heat would have been appreciated. Daughter loved the welcome fruit plate, thank you.

The hotel is very well located. Right in the centre, next to the train station and opposite the bus station. We only stayed for three nights prior to a seven night stay in a self-catering apartment located nearby. The rooms and hotel generally were very clean, as one would expect in Switzerland. The ski room is located in the basement and has boot warming racks. From the basement you can exit the hotel onto the main street which is very useful. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms connected via a shared bathroom. We travelled with three children aged between 8 and 16. The rooms were small and the bedroom with three beds was particularly cramped, although the hotel did warn us that it would be tight. There were no locks on the bathroom door which compromised privacy. There is no lounge area for residents which could make a longer stay at the hotel slightly claustrophobic given the small size of our bedrooms. In other words there is nowhere to relax other than a small bedroom which housed a double bed, chair, fitted wardrobe and basin. Our rooms were also located next to the lift and the chambermaids and hotel staff were particularly noisy from about 7.00am onwards! Breakfast was average for a continental buffet style. Note that there is no hot food for breakfast, only cold meats and cheese. We did not eat at the hotel in the evening. A week with three children would have been quite cramped given the lack of amenity space. However, for only three nights, it was bearable.

The Hotel was located right by the station, so very easy when you arrive. The Hotel is very simple and have that classic edge where you know your staying at a swiss style hotel, which is very nice. The reception was very friendly, and even with english they kindly welcomed us. It was a pleasant surprise because when we usually speak english to the swiss they seem to be more unfriendly. The room was nice, even for a couple it sa good room. The view could be a little better, but as we were out the whole time it did not bother us. Breakfast was really good, proper fresh food, and for a 3 star it was really good. The staff was just really well trained and they are very proper, and this is coming from a japanese guest. Over all I do reccomend it, its definetly a place that you should stay if your looking for a reasonable price hotel, with good service, cozy room, and nice breakfast. Its worth every penny! one last thing, I think all the hotels do this but with this hotel you get this free bus pass for Grindelwald and i think you can also access swimming pool and few other facilities.

Really good value for money, excellent location, friendly staff, clean and warm rooms (topical issue in winter), delicious dinners in the restaurant. A few minor, yet noticeable points: - No Wi-Fi in the chalet behind the hotel building where our apartment was situated - No 'Do not disturb' plates in the room - cleaning staff entered our room when we didn't want to - Furniture and cooking sets in the apartment are too basic - Windows of the apartment are facing the street so that everybody sees what you are doing

The position of the hotel is wonderful, less than 100 metres to the station and a bus stop across the road. Views from the room are stunning. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served in a beautiful large room with a view of the mountains. The rooms were very small with barely enough room for luggage. We had interconnecting rooms for our family of four with a shared toilet and shower. It was nice to have the connecting rooms but the bathroom was quite small for four adults to share.

Location to village and rail station/network. Front rooms (small upgraded) worth the extra. Outside seating area with overhead heaters. Good A la carte restuarant. Free wi-fi. Lack of lounge and log fire. (Just a few chairs and small table near reception) for residents but you can sit in the ground floor restaurant and have a drink.

Central location in Gridenwald. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. The room arrangement included a gallery for the bed. Climbing the steep stairs to the gallery and bending while walking around the bed because of the low roof - was not a pleasant experience. The maintenance needs some improvement (like fixing broken parts at the bathroom, having the telephone line connected, etc.).

The staff were a delight at all times. The rooms were cleaned quickly, efficiently and well. At all times we felt they wanted us there. The location was ideal for the centre of the village with stunning views. For the price the hotel was a pleasure.

It was excellently located. Travelled with an infant 4 months and delighted that it was only 1 to 2 min walk from the train station. Same price as other hotels so this one def had the advantage! Also offered apartments for the same price as a double room! Since the food in grindel was generally expensive, buying from the coop about 3 min walk away saved us alot more money. So all in all it was an excellent deal. The morning buffet breakfast ensured that we always had a full stomach before we started our daily walks. It was an excellent hotel. And grindelwald was a beautiful town to explore the bernese ob. Would recommend the glacier which is a free bus ride away. Going to do the walks from first to the lake and then to bort. Also from manich to kleine sch. Last day we went to lauterbrunnen, to do the waterfallss .... can´t rem the name but starts with an ´s´´(take bus past trummelbach all the way to the end). About 2' to 3 hours walk but wlel worth it.!! Can see many many streams and some waterfalls. And of cos trummelbach falls
